Hi everybody - I am looking thrugh sourcecode of mkwrapper.py, and cannot findout what is the frequency at which MT_EMCSTAT_INCREMENTAL_UPDATEs are reported to clients... Is it possible to change this somwhow in configuration to get more frequent updates?

the whole point of incremental updates is to get updates on change only so periods just do not make sense

hmmm... but if you axis position and tool is moving - mk could report its position more frequent or less fequent.
so how is this apropriate frequency determined at mkwrapper?

what is the point of the exercise? should be fast enough for a UI

@zhivko
Aug 28 2016 16:36
there should be some loop that update_config is called in...
Yes but seen bbb is at 20% cpu - I was thinking it can report position faster

can you please explain why - what are you trying to do?

I want to get more frequent updates to position...
I have this pipe that rotates - and want to examine position in tiny line that form fillets at edge of pipe

should be on the order of 10 or 20 updates a second anyway - got any readers that are that fast?

I want to be sure that tool is at right distanc efrom surface...
And now everything happens so fast...
I could lower feed rate though
in gcode.

are you talking about a PERSON or some PROGRAM reading those values
zhivko
@zhivko
Aug 28 2016 16:44
Program reading that values

back 2 steps. Please explain what you are trying to do.
you obvious have some feedback scheme where you try to modify values based on what you read from emcstat

OK I want to make sure tool is at right distance from surface... and I am doing this by visualizing position from mk
Michael Haberler
@mhaberler
Aug 28 2016 16:45
please explain that

@zhivko
Aug 28 2016 16:46
no actually I am just visualizing tool position
No modification is taking place here
just 3d drawing of tool position
so I am getting aprox 5 updates of position in second it seems...
