@aktary
@emschwartz where are you guys in development and adoption?
Evan Schwartz
@emschwartz
We're on what feels like it might be the final version of the core protocol and now we're focused on doing it with real money and integrating with the major cryptocurrencies. I've been working on an Ethereum plugin for Interledger using Machinomy https://github.com/emschwartz/ilp-plugin-ethereum-paychan. Once that is done we'll be able to plug it into the main implementation of an Interledger connector. You'll then be able to open a payment channel to a connector in Ether or an ERC20 token that it accepts and it'll pay out to anyone else in Bitcoin, XRP, whatever they want as long as there is some chain of connectors from your asset to the receiver's. (If anyone is interested in helping out with this, I'd love to find more collaborators to work on this plugin)
David Aktary
@aktary
We should discuss... we're launching a decentralized ERC20 token exchange and I think there might be some interesting applications for interledger... PM coming

@agatsoh
ok @emschwartz I will try it out !! Thanks

@aktary
Hey all... is anyone here interested in getting involved with a Machinomy-based project? If so, hit me up.

@ThisIsMissEm
Hi! I'm not sure where to note this, but the SSL certificate for machinomy.com expired 2 days ago
David Aktary
@aktary
I'm not entirely sure @ukstv checks this channel anymore...
Emelia Smith
@ThisIsMissEm
🤷🏻‍♀️ I'm just a random stranger on the internet that noticed this & saw a "gitter chat" button on the github page, and clicked it.
Sergey Ukustov
@ukstv
@aktary I do check :(
@ThisIsMissEm Thank you so much!
David Aktary
@aktary
Ah... good to know @ukstv :) I had some questions for you above and hadn't heard back, so I wasn't sure :)
David Aktary
@aktary
@ukstv any updates on new functionality? Especially bidi? ;)

Are tutorials on the website outdated? :worried:

After the latest updates, the value of spent is not getting updated for the :
Sergey Ukustov
@ukstv
That is all a bad sign. (Documentation is in flux, that is ok).
Matthew Slipper
@mslipper
Hi @surabhil - can you give me some additional repro steps?
Will fix the issue as soon as I can reproduce it.
surabhil
@surabhil
@mslipper Sure! I have sent you the steps.

@surabhil
Thanks for solving the previous concern. I was wondering if the examples for ERC20 token after the latest updates is coming anytime soon?
Sergey Ukustov
@ukstv
Soon.
David Aktary
@aktary
Hey @ukstv ... we'd love a progress update! :)
Sergey Ukustov
@ukstv
@aktary Have some news for you.
In PM
dappelt
@dappelt
having an issue with yarn and machinomy-contracts machinomy/machinomy-contracts#35
any idea?
Sergey Ukustov
@ukstv
Yeah. Writing the answer now. That’s hillarious. TLDR Downgrade yarn to 1.3.x
We spent few hours today thinking it’s something with our code.
Depending on version yarn blows up or stucks.
Michiel de Jong
@michielbdejong
@ukstv can you publish a new version of https://www.npmjs.com/package/machinomy? We need some fixes that we can now only get by including the dependency from github, and it's non-trivial because it requires (the right version of) yarn to be installed
i created a built branch on my fork as a temporary workaround, but would be nice if we can just depend on machinomy via npm
Sergey Ukustov
@ukstv
Ooh, for sure!!
Sergey Ukustov
@ukstv
@michielbdejong released a new version on npm. Does it solve the problem?
Michiel de Jong
@michielbdejong
great! will switch to that. thanks a lot!
Asmodat
@asmodat
Is this project using tendermint ?
Sergey Ukustov
@ukstv
No, it doesn’t, @asmodat, why do you think so?
Pekka Puusaha
@PekkaPuusaha_twitter
Hi guys,
Pekka Puusaha
@PekkaPuusaha_twitter
I'm doing a system for keeping up user's balances in ETH20 tokens. Real-time settling would be expensive in the main chain, so I'm thinking of opening up a payment channel between my private chain and the main chain and aggregating a number of balance updates in one commit. Just an idea, nothing more specific yet planned. Would this be a use case for Machinomy?
µRaiden or Raiden would be the more famous ones, but I want to explore the alternatives as well
Sergey Ukustov
@ukstv
Aww, sweet scenario. The present version of machinomy can not handle the case. As far as I know, Raiden and microRaiden do not fit either. That might me a good case for a generalised state channels though, or to https://witnet.io/#/
Hmm, it might be a cool idea to do a channelised witnet ;)
Pekka Puusaha
@PekkaPuusaha_twitter
What's the shortcoming with machinomy for not doing this?
I have been told the general idea of state channels, but all the details are new to me
Sergey Ukustov
@ukstv
It is not indended for cross-chain state channels.
To link two chains one have to reveal proofs on both chains that the value transfer happened.
Pekka Puusaha
@PekkaPuusaha_twitter
I can have same private keys on both chains
Would it need the nonces to be in sync too ?
Oh and I have infinite source of the tokens too.
