Bora M. Alper
@boramalper
Hello folks, we renamed the Gitter community to magnetico, from magnetico-dev!
Alexey Skobkin
@skobkin
@boramalper Check my PR if you'll have some time. I've implemented magneticod basic PostgreSQL support.
boramalper/magnetico#214
Jeremy Kescher
@kescherCode
@Chewie9999 I only rate-limit magneticow for access by outsiders using an NGINX reverse proxy, magneticod runs freely on its own happy little server.
@boramalper If I were to implement the magneticow parts of @skobkin's PR, would you merge it? I plan on fully implementing this for my own use, but I'd like to see others benefitting from it as well :)
Alexey Skobkin
@skobkin
@boramalper I've also added new Pull Request for simple MQ server Beanstalk: boramalper/magnetico#219. It's based on your stdout implementation and reuses the same data structure. For that I did small refactoring and moved that structure to the interface.go (thought about separate file but didn't do it).

Hello guys,

I am liking this project a lot! I see a lot of potential.
I just boramalper/magnetico#222, fixinf some concurrency, adding some stats and implementing a throttle (or tps limiter, as you wish). Please take a look and tell me if you need me to change something.

Also, before proceeding with other ideas I'd like to have an opinion on these points:
  • implementing Elasticsearch as a DB, and creating the HTML/CSS/JS to work on it
  • finding a way to increment the number of fetched hashes per second. I have to think about it, but I am not sure that resetting the routing table and start over from the beginning is the best idea to go. I was thinking about saving a list of peers that were responding more than others and use them as a starting point, or something like that
  • find a way to reliably test the code, which at the moment do not have much testing ongoing
GGGin
@gggin
@kescherCode do you know the project how to share peers ? My site have a little data.
GGGin
@gggin
Does anyone knows how to add bt tracker into magnetico search peers?
Luca Ruggieri
@ruggieri_gitlab
@gggin what do you mean? You can add trackers in the bootstrap list of magneticod under dht/mainline/indexingService.go around line 115, at the beginning of the bootstrap() function. Not sure this is what you are asking though
GGGin
@gggin
@ruggieri_gitlab yeah that's what i ask thank you very much.

@DKingCN
support for elasticsearch still implementing.
this is how it looks like: https://dht.qaq.link/

GGGin
@gggin
@kescherCode Your website is down. Would you share the sqlite database to me? The VPS's bandwidth's price is so high.
Rob
@vRobM
how much bandwidth and storage will it take?
@DKingCN site seems missing
DKing
@DKingCN
currently 17GB for storage
bandwidth unknown. I am not running magnetico on my VPS, UDP traffic or BT traffic got my network banned.
the site is now online @vRobM
Rob
@vRobM
that is a lot of text ;-/ does it ever prune things no longer available or old?
oh you have it in elastic..
only logs into kibana, dont see a way to search db
DKing
@DKingCN
no it does not prune old data. i dont know how to define INVALID links
Rob
@vRobM
saw the example of the poor search at @kescherCode 's site
DKing
@DKingCN
like since two years ago
You need to select date range on top right
on the left of "Refresh" button
Rob
@vRobM
i got results but so rough to use
Rob
@vRobM
something like this for IPFS combining both
DKing
@DKingCN
guess you need to learn a little bit of es or kibana
ES is great for storing big data
as well as searching
Rob
@vRobM
DKing
@DKingCN
looks decent

Magnetico plot surge
I changed my options on magneticod and now it finds quite a lot more torrents. That's quite a surprise.
Alexey Skobkin
@skobkin
@kescherCode What did you change?
Jeremy Kescher
@kescherCode
I increased both --leech-max-n and --indexer-max-neighbors by three to five times the default values lol
150 and 5000 respectively
Korman
@korman
hello everybody
I need help
How can I build sources on MacOSX,I can't run,Because Can't sql.ping() database.
Alexey Skobkin
@skobkin
@korman Can't build or can't run? That's different things.

@seanbert-monkey
Hi, love this project I have a tiny code tweak I have found useful. would it appropriate to mention it here?
Bora M. Alper
@boramalper
Sure @seanbert-monkey ! I’m not actively maintaining it anymore but it’s definitely appropriate to mention it here.
guillaumedsde
@guillaumedsde
shameless plug, but if anyone's looking to run magneticod/magneticow on platforms other than X86 I've built multi-platform images based on Google's distroless images:
thanks @skobkin for your beanstalkd PR I'm currently using to implement a Torznab API from the crawled torrents over here: https://gitlab.com/guillaumedsde/dht-torznab
