    This would be a good openlex + maptimelex collab project: http://www.civicdataalliance.org/gis-open-data-american-printing-house-open-street-map/
    We’d need address data from the city.
    I’d like to work on this
    Ryan Cooper
    @maptastik
    Definitely! I think the address data is up on the open data portal already
    Chase Southard
    @chaserx
    o.0 oh!
    Ryan Cooper
    @maptastik
    but building footprints...that might take some work to get
    Ryan Cooper
    @maptastik
    definitely would be good to see if chris doerge can offer any guidance on how we might get those. if they got the building footprints through a lidar flight there may be some resistance to opening up that data, but it's definitely worth a try!

    @chaserx
    I sent him a tweet. I’m not sure how to get a hold otherwise

    address points and impervious structure data (from 2007 aparently) available.
    Ryan Cooper
    @maptastik
    Ah cool. I hadn't thought to look in that data. Looks like a good starting point

    Just learned about LFUCG's ArcGIS REST services thanks to @eeeschwartz http://gis.lexingtonky.gov/lfucggis/rest/services/
    Looks like a lot of overlap with the open data portal, but with something like esri-leaflet or the arcgis js api this might be a better avenue for getting data
    Mike Dillion
    @mikedillion
    Oh that is very exciting!
    (late to the party)
    Ryan Cooper
    @maptastik
    I actually found a bunch of other municipal, state, and university ArcGIS REST pages and added them here: https://github.com/maptimelex/commonwealth
    Also, there's this thing to download the data from a ArcGIS REST service as a shapefile that I recently happened upon: https://github.com/JasonSanford/shapefile-ags

    Hi! So.... I've got this app that uses leaflet that specifies a TileUrl: 'http://a{s}.acetate.geoiq.com/tiles/acetate-hillshading/{z}/{x}/{y}.png' However, it appears that the geoiq is no more (getting 503 back from the server). Any suggestions on a tile url that I can substitute?
    perhaps OSM?
    Ryan Cooper
    @maptastik
    @chaserx Yeah, ESRI shut down geoiq a few months ago and with it apparently the Acetate tiles disappeared. A shame because it was a really great tileset! Apparently the acetate repo has the stylesheets, data, and some instructions on how to roll it out on your own, but I can't find it hosted anywhere.
    However, there may be some suitable replacements at Leaflet-providers preview
    Ryan Cooper
    @maptastik
    Maybe MapQuest tiles run through TileLayer.Grayscale.js would be an option? At least maybe a temporary fix

    @chaserx
    cool thanks!

    Sometimes I come here just to be alone with my digital self though...
    Ryan Cooper
    @maptastik
    As do I. I wonder how many times we've been here at the same time but staring into opposite oblivions?

    Sometimes when I come here and stare into that wild abyss, I wonder, can oblivion look back at me?
