i will definately send a pull request with all my docs, once this works
and several things I did to the depends folder
configure finished. running make
spacecrypto
@spacecrypto
hmm... it finished but it did not build marscoin-qt.exe
where does it typically put that? in /src ?
Lennart Lopin
@novalis78_twitter
yes in /src/qt
spacecrypto
@spacecrypto
i found the problem
Lennart Lopin
@novalis78_twitter
Ubuntu 18:
/home/marscoin# ./autogen.sh aclocal: warning: couldn't open directory 'build-aux/m4': No such file or directory libtoolize: putting auxiliary files in AC_CONFIG_AUX_DIR, 'build-aux'.
<- looks like the mac problem I had earlier is due to the lib tool having issues, not autoconf itself

…a clue. was just trying to build the node on a Ubuntu 18 instance
spacecrypto
@spacecrypto
my problem is it's not finding the qt plugins
Lennart Lopin
@novalis78_twitter
on mac or windows?
spacecrypto
@spacecrypto
windows
i am not working on mac yet. i've been trying to get the new build that includes QT client built on windows all day (& last night)
i found a mingw guide so I might switch to using that . right now its Ubuntu 16 on WSL
Lennart Lopin
@novalis78_twitter
ok
so it sounds like it gets super close to finishing using Ubuntu 16/WSL and then fails?
spacecrypto
@spacecrypto
yes
QT plugin not found
everything else works and it compiled the node & CLI just fine.
I started on MinGW and will work that more over the weekend or Monday.

Made some tweaks to the build_unix readme. Compiling under Ubuntu 18 works like a charm. Preparing a guide for Ubuntu 20 and Marscoin v. 1.5
