hello all, i have been using angular bootstrap calendar for my project but my users having hard time to see the event as the activities that is going i want to change it into continues line or box like in fullcalendar.io,
can i change the symbol that is showing in calendar?
Nicholas Bering
@nbering
@michaelmalvinlemuel Are you referring to the month view?
michaelmalvinlemuel
@michaelmalvinlemuel
@nbering yap :) thats true
Nicholas Bering
@nbering
If so, then as far as I recall from doing work on angular-bootstrap-calendar a while ago, it would require some significant structural changes to both the view and logic to achieve that change.
michaelmalvinlemuel
@michaelmalvinlemuel
where do i should change in view n logic to achieve that ? :confused: do i need to recode on angular-bootstrap-calendar.js?
Nicholas Bering
@nbering
Yes, it would require changes to angular-bootstrap-calendar. Achieving a good calendar view that handles multiple days and overlapping events is actually quite intense. You basically have to compare every event to every other event to find overlapping events and then figure out what row to put the box on. Then things that overlap weeks also need to be figured in.
And overflowing days because there's too many events, and things that overlap the next month, etc.
michaelmalvinlemuel
@michaelmalvinlemuel
soo it seems i need to read both code on fullcalendar & angular-bootstrap-calendar n understand how it works to figure out how to mix it
its like rebuilding the whole angular-bootstrap-calendar but only in month-view :confounded: ahahah gonna takes time then thanks @nbering :) i will try to
Nicholas Bering
@nbering
I did a comparison with fullcalendar when working on a project too, and settled with angular-bootstrap-calendar (I don't have my notes in front of me as to why). I've worked with a number of calendar implementations over time, and they all have some issue or another. It's a complex problem space. It always is when you're working with dates and times.
michaelmalvinlemuel
@michaelmalvinlemuel
well in comparison i did i think i choose this because it views event in more cleaner way than full calendar :smile: but it's kinda hard to understand for user easily (especially for people who don't really use technology) if it's ranged event if i can mix this for range event maybe it will help
(but this is my 1st time doing this i hope i can :worried: )

Hello, I was able to install in my project the calendar, however only the name of the days of the week appears ... in the console appears the message of the moment ...
moment.js:273 Deprecation warning: moment construction falls back to js Date. This is discouraged and will be removed in upcoming major release. Please refer to http://momentjs.com/guides/#/warnings/js-date/ for more info.

Hi Guys, I just need to use the library 'angular-bootstrap-calendar' in my angular1 application. I am using webpack and npm. My question is I need to customise that library a little bit. So whats the best possible way to include that library in my application ?
Any suggestions would be appreciated

Anyone here know how to grey out past days on the calendar?
Nicholas Bering
@nbering
I don't see an option for that. If you need it really badly you could make a pull request, or implement a custom calendar template.

@samueljacobsmith
Gotcha, thanks for the response Nicholas.

For anyone wondering, alteration of past days is possible on an aesthetic level at least. Simply use .cal-day-past in your main css file.

Anyone know how to change event icons in the Month Cell from circles to something like a checkmark?

Hi there! I'm implementing a simple booking service for which I'm currently using FullCalendar. However, I'm finding myself running into increasingly frustrating problems due to the fact that it's based on jQuery and not Angular. At this point I'm considering switching to use angular-bootstrap-calendar, but have a couple of question before I commit myself to a major change.

Most important is: Is it possible to use the "kitchen sink" on a week view?

Hi, i am looking to add a floating drop down menu within the calendar and also how to add an image within the daily slots of a calendar. Upon clicking the image, i want to show another drop down with multi-select facility. Basically, i want to use the calendar for resource selection. Can angular bootstrap calendar be modified to provide this support?
naveedahm
@naveedahm
Hi, is there any view available where user can view both hours available within a day and the week days?
Nicholas Bering
@nbering
@naveedahm I previously used angular-bootstrap-calendar to build an application for booking school tours (field trips) at our family farm. My requirements allowed that there be fixed time slots, so I pre-calculated the slots based on a set of rules on the server, and displayed the empty slots as events that can be clicked. That seemed to be the path or least resistence. You can of course modify the templates to do whatever you wish, but the library still controls the data that gets injected into the template, so there's not a lot of control without also modifying the library code.
@naveedahm If you are willing to put the time in to problem solve it, the best was to stick to modifying templates and also control data available to the modifications would probably be to add a custom directive to represent your added control, so it can create it's own scope and access more information.

hi, i would like to know how to change the language from english to french?
Nicholas Bering
@nbering
If I remember right, dates are formatted with moments, and there was some way to configure moment as used by the library.
from readme: 'moment.local("YOUR_LOCALE_STRING");'

hi guys, you can create holidays or birthdays and see them in the month view??

Yes, you can provide a list of events and they appear as dots on the month view (last I checked).

Type: Question

I would like to make a custom use of angular-calendar. I use week view and mwlCalendar buttons. I am not very familiar with angular but what I would like to achieve here is do something (ex run weekChange method) after the mwlCalendarPreviousView had run. So I am sure that variable viewDate has changed. How should i do that inside this component?

      <button mat-icon-button mwlCalendarPreviousView [view]="view" [(viewDate)]="viewDate" (click)="weekChange($event)">
        <mat-icon>chevron_left</mat-icon>
      </button>
      <button mat-icon-button mwlCalendarToday [(viewDate)]="viewDate" (click)="weekChange($event)">
        <mat-icon>today</mat-icon>
      </button>
      <button mat-icon-button mwlCalendarNextView [view]="view" [(viewDate)]="viewDate" (click)="weekChange($event)">
        <mat-icon>chevron_right</mat-icon>
      </button>

  <mwl-calendar-week-view [viewDate]="viewDate" [events]="events" [refresh]="refresh" [locale]="locale" [weekStartsOn]="weekStartsOn"
    [weekendDays]="weekendDays">
  </mwl-calendar-week-view>

image

below week calendar I have a double ngFor loop for the events render

<div fxFlex *ngFor="let dayOfTheWeek of [0,1,2,3,4,5,6]">
      <ng-container *ngFor="let todo of todoByDate(dayOfTheWeek)">
          <a mat-button class="cal-task no-hover-effect" (click)="selectTodo(todo)">{{ todo.title }}</a>
      </ng-container>
</div>

I know my approach is not the Best so if anyone like to suggest me some other techniques or ideas as extras I would be glad to read em

thanks!

Amaury Lapaque
@ALapaque
@mustafa-synectiks you mean by clicking on a cell ?
@immortalinfotech_gitlab hi there use <ng-template></ng-template> to create your custom header template and then your custom segment template

@immortalinfotech_gitlab

<ng-template #hourSegmentTemplate let-isTimeLabel="isTimeLabel" let-locale="locale" let-segment="segment" let-segmentHeight="segmentHeight">
</ng-template>

<ng-template #headerTemplate let-dayHeaderClicked="dayHeaderClicked" let-days="days" let-locale="locale">
</ng-template>

Hi @nicholasp you can do that using the event (viewDateChange)
