@mescon
hey
just open up settings.ini.php
and set userNameInput to whatever you want the username to be
and set password to "hello" or whatever
then change it in the interface, so that it encrypts the password
mescon
@mescon
@thetruetype did it work for you?

@murugaratham
is there a place to see all the icons?
i'm trying to add emby and pi-hole icons but the built-in icon search is hard to find

Got the new icon picker working! It's not too tough to add new icons to the set, then index them with another app and generate categories and searchable goodness for all of them. D

So, changes:

Roboto fonts. Checkboxes gone, buttons. They scale much better. Authorization now is in a group for either "all access" or "settings only". The settings bit isn't implemented yet.

All settings save and apply instantly...or they will. Most app settings work, the URL automagically loads in the frames and updates the data-content, apps get deleted from the DOM if disabled, dropdown items, etc. Still got work to do there.

URL's. As http won't load over https, ever, I'm forcing the URL to change to match https no matter what. If none is specified, it'll match the protocol currently in use. I'm going to add a checkbox to force https, which is required for progressive web apps, which allow it to look and act like a native android app. Lazy linking still works, but it's all processed php-side, so less weight on the browser.

Combineify is gone. I've got loading much faster without it just by deleting stuff.

Updated to latest boostrap, latest jquery. Latest everything.

Fonts. We don't need the font-awesome set anymore. The muximux set is now all-inclusive. Saves on loading time.

I really want to bump up the version requirement to PHP7. Everybody should be able to run it, and it offers a bunch of coding and performance improvements. Requiring CURL would be nice too, but I won't force it. My thought was to do a release with the changes I've got at v5 support, then add a prompt suggesting the bump to php7, as v5 won't be supported much longer.

Notifications: Gonna add support for chrome/desktop notifications.

Updates: Using zip to download and install updates is and will always be problematic unless we make that rely solely on a proper "updates" directory, and not git, as it has been. Like, here's a release, just make sure that's installed and forget about keeping track of a sha. If you have git, then you can select a branch and grab from that. Otherwise, it's just the latest from the releases folder. Fixes that long-standing issue.

Moar...Man, I've been busy. I'll push what I've got to a new branch sooner than later, then go from there.

@mescon
sounds nice dude, glad to see you back! :)
I was away on vacation - just got back, so this is nice to see :)

@d8ahazard
Hey!
I've got an experimental branch going so you can see what's cooking, gotta get myself ready for work right this minute.
mescon
@mescon
as long as we document exactly what is needed to install muximux... like.. php-curl
yeah sure
i start working again on monday, but this weekend im free to discuss whatever you want
its awesome to see you putting some love into muximux again dude :)
is this muximux 3? :)
d8ahazard
@d8ahazard
I'm thinking so.
d8ahazard
@d8ahazard
Okay, at an actual computer now.
So, my thought process was to modify the existing code to display a message letting people know that PHP5 will be deprecated soon, and that they should update sooner than later, to make sure CURL is there.
I can ask Sparklyballs to make sure the Docker container is updated with the extra dep beforehand too.
mescon
@mescon
hey... is the experimental branch operational at all for you? i just checked it out, but all i get is a white page... no errors in my logs... do we require some new module or something?

@mescon
turns out i needed to manually create a /log/ directory

@mescon
seems like all the apps are loading when entering muximux

@brandoncorry
qq - installed php/webstation on my synology, put mux inside the web folder (in it's own folder) next to other files that are working just fine, but when I navigate to /mux/ I get a 500 error. Any ideas?
was able to turn on display errors, so now I can see an error - I think it may be the write permission issue.
Brandon Corry
@brandoncorry
got it up and running - sorry for the noise.

@kmoberg
Hey... Might be a stupid questions, but I just cloned muximux to my nginx server, chowned it like the instructions say, but I just get a white screen from the index.php file. Any ideas @mescon ?
I enabled display errors, but I don't get any.

@trohnjavolta
hi, just installed muximux using atomic toolkit script and I have 2 questions
I can reach muximux by typing <ip>/muximux but not with <hostname>/muximux, why is that?
and when setting up e.g. transmission under address if I enter <ip>:9091 I can reach transmission but if I enter localhost:9091 I cannot. any way to change that?
mescon
@mescon
@trohnjavolta That has nothing to do with Muximux. Muximux doesn't decide if your vhosts are properly setup, what your backend is and how that is configured or even if your DNS is functioning properly. Also, localhost is your local machine. If you're not running transmission on your desktop computer, then trying to access localhost:9091 will of course fail. I suggest you read up a bit about networking in general - and remember, Muximux is not a reverse proxy, its just a web frontend.
@kmoberg Sorry about the delayed response - did you get it up and running?
trohnjavolta
@trohnjavolta
ok I understand. Muximux is running on same device as transmission, so i don't understand why it isn't working. In fact I get "localhost has rejected the connection"

Been awhile since I worked with PHP. What am I doing wrong? :P finally got my fastcgi settings to correctly load index.php, but I'm getting (PHP Version 5.6.38)
*getting "Fatal error: Call to undefined function session_status() in /var/www/muximux.php on line 1110"

@TheEmpty
Answer: FreeBSD (and maybe others) and PHP packages are very modular. Needed to install other core PHP packages.
