@oluoluoxenfree so good you can make it!
Are you rocking an Ubuntu machine?

Thanks @alanshaw and @iteles :D
@olizilla I'm currently rocking a very buggy install of xubuntu over ubuntu, as the latter was running slowly and I followed an online guide without thinking of how it would turn out! Trying to decide what to replace it with, or whether it's salvageable. I think I'll do a fresh install of xubuntu and if THAT doesn't run properly I'll try kubuntu

@oluoluoxenfree you should try mint in 32bit (cinamon rocks)

@guidouil why 32bit? I thought if you had a 64 bit laptop you use should 64?

@olizilla Any more info on pre-reqs for the workshop aside from the JS adventure?

so, it’s not super pretty, but https://www.npmjs.org/package/javascripting has a good, step by step introduction to the foundations.
if anyone is worried that they won’t know enough JS on the day, have a go at that.
by:
from a terminal, run:
  npm install -g javascripting
then run it any time from the terminal by typing it’s name
javascripting
It’s a nodeschool style workshop: http://nodeschool.io/
so it’s a series of challenges

you run the workshop, select the first challenge, create a folder for your answers, and a text file for your solution to the first challenge (e.g. 01-introduction.js)
the challenge will give you hints
and of course, just shout if you have any issues

@Slava we need a Meteor :cake: drop to Europe. I often wonder how the http://meteorlondon.com colour scheme would taste as a spongy treat. https://twitter.com/imslavko/status/527173204284944385
