If what you want is reset alpha channel from background (eg: pixels who did not get written), stencil is generally a better option )

ah okay thanks
yes i remember the stencil stuff in theory but forgot about the node workflow

you can also do : if (d > 0.9999f) -> set alpha to 0
tekcor
@tekcor
Aug 13 2015 16:01
okay i will try that now

@mrvux
Aug 13 2015 16:02
you should have reset alpha sample in girlpower ;)

a oui thats great
okay i think i will figure it out thanks

btw if you don't do any post proc (eg: use alpha for any reason or apply some ao/deffered shading), you can also set the clear color to 0 alpha )

yes but i do ssao and then render tiles with alpha background
the (d > 0.9999f worked
now the texture is scaled wrong
i experienced that with other depth based effects as well
do you know what i mean?
mrvux
@mrvux
Aug 13 2015 16:08
do you use load or sample?
generally better to use load and keep same resolution for that, also do you use msaa?
tekcor
@tekcor
Aug 13 2015 16:08
i use sample
did not know about load
you mean for the texture sampling of the depthbuffer?
no msaa

IsometricAssets_AnimatedTiles32x8-Preview2.png
i am talking about this, color texture looks like above

you should be able to sample depth no problem, but actually that one looks like you using aa
tekcor
@tekcor
Aug 13 2015 16:11
and using texturefx on the depth results in that 1/4 scaling
mrvux
@mrvux
Aug 13 2015 16:11
make sure to set format appropriately if you set depth as texture input btw
in the pass info
tekcor
@tekcor
Aug 13 2015 16:14
you think the format has to do with the scaling issue?
i changed it to rgba16 and nothing changed
mrvux
@mrvux
Aug 13 2015 16:14
prlly not, you'd likely have black screen )
tekcor
@tekcor
Aug 13 2015 16:15
looks more like the depth buffer gets the uv coords wrong
mrvux
@mrvux
Aug 13 2015 16:52
can you pastebin your shader?

ps: by looking at this red, you could really increase your near plane ;)
tekcor

i got it
it was not the shader
it was an old render temp target that i saved pre 33.7 and that had a bug
replacing to new renderer temp target solved it
thanks vux
