    About the icon you can either use icons via the provided Android-Iconics vector icons. Included fonts: FontAwesome & GoogleMaterialDesign Icons

    Hey, I wanted to thank you. It worked. For some reason when I tried by myself I was getting a Private Constructor error, now everything is good.

    Is it possible to have square badges?
    Mike Penz
    @mikepenz
    @sush-hiray in the latest version yes
    just create your own badge style and define no corner
    Sushant Hiray
    @sush-hiray
    BadgeStyle adoro_brown = new BadgeStyle(BadgeStyle.Style.LARGE, com.mikepenz.actionitembadge.library.R.layout.menu_badge, Color.parseColor("#d91b5c"), Color.parseColor("#d91b5c"), -1);
    This is what I'm using for the BadgeStyle
    Where do I define no corner?
    Mike Penz
    @mikepenz
    @sush-hiray oh sorry mixed it up with the BadgeStyle i created for the MaterialDrawer. At the moment this api is not public. i will add it
    Mike Penz
    @mikepenz
    @sush-hiray is now in v3.0.4 possible ;)
    Sushant Hiray
    @sush-hiray
    @mikepenz Thanks. Can you tell me now that corner is int, what does the value signify?
    Mike Penz
    @mikepenz
    @sush-hiray it’S the corner in pixel

    hi mike
    I got a problem, and was wondering if you can give me a hand. I'm using an item badge but for some reason when I click on the badge the method onOptionsItemSelected is no getting called. So how can I create (or where) a click listener in order to show some message when you click the badge.
    when I click the badge it does highlight, but that's all.
    dusanoz
    @dusanoz
    I'm using this line
    ActionItemBadge.update(this, (pointsItem), FontAwesome.Icon.faw_viacoin, new BadgeStyle(BadgeStyle.Style.LARGE, R.layout.menu_badge_large, Color.parseColor("#ffffff"), Color.parseColor("#f9B233"), Color.parseColor("#fd5901")), User.getPoints());
    dusanoz
    @dusanoz
    another weird behavior: when I click around the badge it does trigger onOptionsItemSelected() but when I click right in the middle of the badge it just highlights
    Mike Penz
    @mikepenz
    @dusanoz i will take a look at this. seems that this probalby is a bug
    dusanoz
    @dusanoz
    ok, cool. Let me know what you find out. Thanks, Mike.
    Mike Penz
    @mikepenz
    @dusanoz which version are you running? i just tried the sample of the latest version and it works on my side.
    dusanoz
    @dusanoz
    I'm using this line
    compile('com.mikepenz:actionitembadge:3.0.0@aar') {
    transitive = true
    }
    Mike Penz
    @mikepenz
    @dusanoz which android version?
    dusanoz
    @dusanoz
    my target is API 14
    Mike Penz
    @mikepenz
    hmmm for API 16 it is working. And i can’T get an emulator with API 14 running. it does not boot :/
    is it working for you on versions > 14?
    dusanoz
    @dusanoz
    I can confirm that Android Version 4.4.2 is not working. Samsung Galaxy S4
    Mike Penz
    @mikepenz
    samsung ^^. do you have an emulator? can you try it with this one? else do you have any custom code? is it working in the sample app?
    Srinath Warrier
    @srinathwarrier
    Is there a way to handle min-sdk 9 ? since com.mikepenz:iconics-core:1.7.8 expects min-sdk 10.
    Mike Penz
    @mikepenz
    @srinathwarrier no. all my libraries will only support 10+.
    perhaps i will change this to 14+ in the future
    if you need 9+ you should try to download the source and add the lib to your project as module and look if there are issues with lower api support
    Srinath Warrier
    @srinathwarrier
    Ok sure. thanks for the response.
    Mike Penz
    @mikepenz
    @srinathwarrier great ;)

    Hi, I like this ActionItemBadge very much. However, I wonder if i could set a exclamation instead of badgecount in ActionItemBadge.update.
    current is like " ActionItemBadge.update(this, menu.findItem(R.id.action_contact),getResources().getDrawable(R.drawable.ic_contacts),ActionItemBadge.BadgeStyles.YELLOW,1);"
    Mike Penz
    @mikepenz
    @wuyue the update method also takes a string as badge
    wuyue
    @bigtigeregg
    yes I know. What string should should give if i want a "exclamation mark" or "dot"? Thank you
    is there any document i could find?
    Mike Penz
    @mikepenz
    I am not quite sure what you mean. Do you want just the symbol? If you want a dot, just pass that dot as string.
