    Will a notes table be part of MIMIC - IV ?
    Alistair Johnson
    @alistairewj
    yep, working on it!

    Thanks!
    We were wondering two things: (1) is it likely to contain infection disease notes, and (2) what is the timeline for releasing the notes table?
    Alistair Johnson
    @alistairewj
    initially it will be discharge summaries, those contain some stuff from microbiology but they're not focused on infectious diseases
    not sure about the timeline, I'd hope around October but lots of things are up in the air right now
    i thought MIMIC-IV would be released in April :)

    Are there any plans to create an updated version of https://www.physionet.org/content/mimic3wdb-matched for MIMIC-IV? I'd be curious to know if the reconciliation process is still so complex.
    Alistair Johnson
    @alistairewj
    yeah, waveforms aren't my department but it's definitely in the works, the system to transfer them is much better so data capture is higher

    Question: how to link particular mimic-iv visit (hadm_id) to a mimic-cxr study_id? I assume the study_id in cxr/iv aren't necessarily one to one. Thanks!
    Alistair Johnson
    @alistairewj
    use the subject_id to link them
    if you want to assign an hadm_id, then join using subject_id + admittime + dischtime
    Simon Levine-Gottreich
    @simonlevine
    Thank you. Would also love to get those discharge summaries. :)
    Simon Levine-Gottreich
    @simonlevine
    @alistairewj I get that the hadm_id is particular to an admit/disch time and subject_id, but since CXR lacks these time data, how could I assign the correct HADM_ID to a given CXR study? Thanks again.
    Alistair Johnson
    @alistairewj
    the time data is in the dicom header!

    there is an sync problem between waveforms in mimic iii, can i see if this is improved in mimic iv?

    Hi, bit of a novice here, so forgive me if I ask something trivial. I'm trying to use SchemaSpy on MIMIC-IV to help better understand the relationships etc. There's not currently any indexing or keys, and I wondered how I would add these? Thanks

    Should I do this manually? I saw in the docs there is mention of relationship

    Hello Edward. The keys in MIMIC-IV are very simple and very similar to the previous version. "hadm_id" is the key for tables that related to hospital admission and ED. One "hadm_id" may contain more than one "stay_id" which is the key for tables related to ICU. And "stay_id" can be used to identify patient with multiple hospital visit.
    The tables that best used to connect different IDs are "admission" in core, and "icustays" in ICU.

    Fantastic, thank you @sichenghao1992

    yeah if you want to make some constraints for schema spy and PR it let us know.. I have put up the schema spy for mimic-iii and I imagine people would appreciate it for mimic-iv
    Edward Barker
    @epabarker
    Sure, I'd be happy to do so

    Hi there, I have been looking everywhere for the source device for the ECG for the BIDMC MIMIC Database. Basically, on what device was the ECG data collected? How was it exported? Were any conversions/data loss made? I can see that it is somehow related to the MetaVision and CareVue, but those are software ends, not devices.

    Hi, amazing work! thank you for advancing clinical research.
    I was wondering about two things:
    1. When will ED be available?
    2. Are you planning to release DB indexing for faster querying like in mimic3?
      Thanks!

    Hi @alistairewj , Do I need to download MIMIC-III to work with MIMIC-IV. Thanks
    Edward Barker
    @epabarker
    No need to download mimic-iii!
    :)
    Alistair Johnson
    @alistairewj
    Yeah and I'd avoid it for now, going to delete patienta in mimic-iii so people aren't confused

    Hi, I've noticed my local copy of mimic-iv doesn't have the d_micro table. I can see that there is no data for d_micro in the data for mimic-iv, and also that it is not included in the create or the load scripts for postgres. Do you know why this is? I can see it on BigQuery
    I've just seen the changelog, my apologies!

    I've been making a constraints script to generate a schemaSpy, which I'd be happy to make a pull request for. I wanted to ask about some primary keys.
    I am confident that admissions.hadm_id, patients.subject_id and icustays.stay_id are primary keys, but I'm uncertain of the rest.
    Of the following, do you know which are primary keys / which are unique, and what is their parent table?

    • icd_code
    • emar_id
    • poe_id
    • pharmacy_id
    • code (D_HCPCS)
    • itemid

    Many thanks!

    Hi, was wondering how is it possible that there are many patients in core.patients that do not have any instance in core.admissions.
    I assumed that every patient in the data will have at least one admission? @alistairewj

    Hi Everyone,
    I am currently planning to start my research with MIMIC -III waveform database Matched Subset. It is around 2.7 TB of data, if I start downloading it will take me 2-3 months with my current internet speed. Can anyone suggest me an alternative solution to use this database ? Or how to get a mirror ? Or Some other way ?
    Please let me your suggestions as well. Thanks, looking forward for to get some help from this community. Thanks again.

    Is there a way to put the diagnosis on a timeline within the hospital admission? Making sure I didn't miss a timestamp column somewhere

    Hello Everyone,

    I wonder what to do if a new version of MIMIC-IV will be released. Do I have to delete the current version and repeat the installation process for the new version? Or is there a way to upgrade the existing schema?

    Is there any overlap of the data between MIMIC-III and MIMIC-IV? If so, will it be possible to tell which admissions/ICU stays are from MIMIC-III and which are new records added in MIMIC-IV?
    Alistair Johnson
    @alistairewj
    there is - i would exclude metavision patients from mimic-iii
    we'll remove them in the future, when time allows

    Hi all!
    Apologies for this simple question, I'm new to this:
    I'm trying to investigate how do medications against epilepsy (anticonvulsants) influence patients' levels of hormones.
    I have analyzed other datasets, but they didn't include hormone levels, just other things that are often correlated with the potentially missing hormones.
    Could anyone share a suggestion how to find this in the MIMIC datasets?
    Thank you very much in advance, and stay well!
