Hi all—very random question, but is it possible to use (or adapt) Saleor with MongoDB?

@j.greig_gitlab AFAIK, some of the features Saleor uses are exclusively available in postgresql only. e.g. product attributes use hstore

Hmm I see... Most just curious, esp. how much Saleor could be portable to something else. Not that I'm against PostreSQL otherwise

Also I was reading somewhere that, for making any core modifications to Saleor, it's often better (or standard?) to create a fork from the project. Would that make sense, esp. at this stage of development?

@j.greig_gitlab Well, since your customizations are heavy, it's better you keep a versioned separate copy of Saleor (forked) for your purposes. You could always merge new updates to Saleor (original) via git.
And IMO porting to MongoDB would be quite a heavy task, and would have to be maintained & tested accordingly.

Yeah, I'm just slowly realizing that while skimming the code
Postres seems good though as a backend. Just looking at options

Sorry to bother, have another theoretical question: if I wanted to, e.g., add additional statuses to stock items (and/or order items), is there a rough sense of how much effort that would take? For e.g., I want to have a dynamic user-configured list of statuses that someone could attach to a stock (or order) item—so it's, say, 'priced', 'produced', etc.

At this point in Saleors lifecycle, what would be my best option to add a field for custom text that would be attached to the product when you add to cart?

@xtrasalty I think the best place for that would be the CartLine model.

@maarcingebala Would you be able to point me in the direction on where I would pass that info when a user clicks add to cart? I tried to edit the productdetails template file but I think some other code like javascript is sending the POST data. Unfortunately I can not figure out where

Hi everyone - Is it possible to have a multi site installation for saleor? I would like to have support multiple countries, but all products might not be available in all countries.
Is it possible to use django sites framework for this?

Ive been trying to update to 2.4.0 all day and can not get it to work. I have a working 2.3.0 store, i tried doing git fetch then git merge and it complains that all the files are existing
How do I see what files have changed?

Hi, Guys. I can catch one detail. How does it impeccable for SEO and use React in the same time? As far as I know React apps can not be SEO cause it's rendered on the client side.

@camiloruizi put SECRET_KEY = 'blabla' in the saleor/settings.py. But if you have question like this - it's gonna be a hard way for you.

I already generated the secret key and put it in the settings.py file.
I still have the error
I already created the database and the user with super user permissions
