    and the lein-eastwood should go into dev profile

    @missingfaktor
    Thanks for the PRs!
    Eastwood fails right now, because of unused-ret-vals-in-try in some macro expansion in tests.
    As for clojure.test, a few of the pet peeves:

    empty list :)

    haha
    [!empty]

    Was caught up. Here's my list:
    • is is one of "those" macros. It usually takes a form, which will be evaluated, and its truthiness value will decide whether the assertion succeeded or failed. But it also looks for some special tokens, such as thrown?. I don't like that at all.
    • It's very minimal. It doesn't have features like matchers. I am okay with a non-minimal and feature-rich library for testing. Even if it's too large. It's fine since it's just a test dependency.
    • I personally think the Midje output is nicer in events of failure. With clojure.test, it's more difficult to track what exactly failed, at least for me.

    @aleksandersumowski Are you up for the migration?
    Aleksander Sumowski
    @aleksandersumowski
    yeah, could do that
    I have time during weekend
    Rahul Goma Phulore
    @missingfaktor
    Great. Cheers!

    Haha!
    Aleksander Sumowski
    @aleksandersumowski
    oh
    Rahul Goma Phulore
    @missingfaktor
    How did you do that?
    like this?
    Aleksander Sumowski
    @aleksandersumowski

    whoa

    The migration would be mostly mechanical.
    The things could that use some improvements are:
    • Consistency. The test structure, the nesting of blocks, the description styles are not consistent.
    • syntax-test has some tests that test macro expansions, and some that don't concern themselves with implementation details and just run the code. I think the latter is the way to go. I would like to have all syntax tests migrated to that style.

    @aleksandersumowski Do you think it's worth getting the project on Clojurewerkz, eventually?
    I have already spoken with two of the people handling ClojureWerkz.
    Aleksander Sumowski
    @aleksandersumowski
    this is nicer :P
    Rahul Goma Phulore
    @missingfaktor
    I see. :)
    Are these distinct groups with clashes with each other, like in Scala land?
    Aleksander Sumowski
    @aleksandersumowski
    hmmm
    not really
    Rahul Goma Phulore
    @missingfaktor
    Or, can we aspire to be on both lists? Is that a possibility?
    Aleksander Sumowski
    @aleksandersumowski
    possibly
    haven’t heard of any turf wars in clojureland
    Rahul Goma Phulore
    @missingfaktor
    That's good to know.
    :)
    I will send in a proposal to funcool people too.
    But only once we have DOCS
    If potemkin made to the list, perhaps Akar could too.

    For the aspiring contributors, we now have a tasks list here: https://github.com/missingfaktor/akar/blob/master/CONTRIBUTING.md#tasks
    Aleksander Sumowski
    @aleksandersumowski
    @missingfaktor could you propose a talk on akar to @ldnclj meetup? :P
    Rahul Goma Phulore
    @missingfaktor
    That's a great idea, @aleksandersumowski. :D I hope to make the first release on clojars by February end. Can propose a talk after that.
