How can I embed the notifications list inside a div that I can scroll?
Danny Dawson
@dannyd4315
hi, seem to be having issues with the setting showProgressbar: false;
doesn't seem to be working, the other settings are working though
Danny Dawson
@dannyd4315
the progress bar shows with whatever I set?
Danny Dawson
@dannyd4315
just as a note I have read the issues around this, and even not including that line, the progressbar still shows? Thanks!

@giorgoc
Hey, wonderful plugin. just a small issue though. when I only have 1 notification, animations does not seem to work :( when I have more than 1 then they are just fine!!
hm.. it appears that the minified animate.css is broken :) tried the non-minified and it's ok now :)

I am trying to use bootstarp-notify , and it is fun and exciting. I have a modal panel for login/ sign-up operations and I am notifying in case of unsuccessful login , but notification appears on the blurry (disabled area) out of the modal panel. I am wondering how can I attache my notification to my modal panel or (this one will be a better solution for me) how can I show the notification on foreground and not under the blurry disables screen. I checked the "element" parameter but I couldn't find out how should I use that. should I use the jquery selector to point out the element or just id or name.

@giorgoc

Hello Yarshabi,

Yes of course you can do that - I have already did this in the past. I am pretty much sure that bootstrap-notify has a z-index parameter that you can increase so that it gets higher than the bootstrap modal overlay.

@Yasharbi
Thanks , it is working with z-index. I give it a higher value like 2000 or 3000 and now my notification is on foreground. :)

@giorgoc
yeah great! :)

@dikiypac please look at this issue: mouse0270/bootstrap-notify#97
I am working on updating the tag to version 3.1.5 and then releasing version 4 with an actual fix to the issue.

Robert McIntosh
@mouse0270
@dikiypac may I know your issue so I can attemp to resolve it?
@ZweHtatNaing I am not sure what razor syntax is due to not using it. Can you can provide we with an error syntax you are recieving I might be able to better assist you.

@dikiypac

Hi! Your plugin is wonderful. Quick question though: Is it possible to fire an event when the notification is closed explicitly by the user by clicking the x button? I tried it by setting onClosed: alert('clicked'), but it was fired only when the page loaded (I show the notification on page load). Thanks
ZweHtat Naing
@ZweHtatNaing
@mouse0270 , thanks its work fine now. Its really amazing...
Robert McIntosh
@mouse0270
@blfarago_twitter you can try $('body').on('click', '[data-notify="url"]', function() { ... });
This is actaully going to be a feature in version 4, with an option called 'onCloseClick'
Balint Farago
@blfarago_twitter
Thanks for the quick answer. For now, I could do it by giving the alert an id and attaching a regular onclick event to it. Looking forward to version 4!
Robert McIntosh
@mouse0270
@blfarago_twitter you should be able to use the code provided above. Yeah, I was hoping to release version for early this month. However I missed up my wrist and have come to the realization that it is surprisingly hard to program with one hand.

Hi there! I'm upgrading an existing project that was using the old $.growl syntax, and now that I've moved it to the newer $.notify function name, and in either case, I get an error telling me that "$.notify is not defined." I can put a breakpoint in developer tools in the bootstrap-notify code that is indeed loaded. However, I never hit the line that defines the $.notify function. Does anyone have any pointers they could give me to sort this out?
Robert McIntosh
@mouse0270
@jakehockey10 can you try moving the notify plugin to the bottom of your list to verify that another plugin isn't causing a conflict. I know of one that has a conflict and that is datatables.
Jake Smith
@jakehockey10
@mouse0270 do you mean to the bottom of my bower.json? It is currently at the bottom of my dependencies :worried:
Robert McIntosh
@mouse0270
@jakehockey10 on the page where you load the plugin.
without seeing the project it is hard to debug, but it sounds like there is a conflict.
Jake Smith
@jakehockey10
gotcha. While I'm doing that, one thing I noticed was that despite the breakpoint that was on the definition for $.notify never hit, the breakpoints in the top half of that same file DID hit. So the code is definitely being run, but the bottom function starting out like this: (function ($) { ... does not get invoked. Let me try what you suggested real quick
Robert McIntosh
@mouse0270
Let me know if that works.
Jake Smith
@jakehockey10
I will let you know as soon as I can. Running into Gulp issues :worried:
Jake Smith
@jakehockey10
I'm sorry to be such a noob, but everyone has to start somewhere, yes? Can you explain to me how I go about changing the order of this plugin in the list? Are you talking about the reference to it in the HTML? script tag?
If so, the only scripts loaded after this one is my app javascript source
aka angular controllers/etc.
There isn't much here, as I am trying to migrate a poorly organized boiler template to a hottowel app structure and trying to get dependencies and main modules in order first. Would you mind taking a look at a git repo?
Jake Smith
@jakehockey10
@mouse0270 here is the repo git@github.com:jakehockey10/material-admin-hottowel.git
Robert McIntosh
@mouse0270
Yes, I am saying move it down lower in the html.
Jake Smith
@jakehockey10
I'm injecting my bower components into the HTML, I'll put that below my app code. I'm only assuming that order is a best practice, but I couldn't tell you why
Robert McIntosh
@mouse0270
it appears that it is currently near the bottom, but not at the bottom. I would try moving it down one item at a time, if it never works then the issue isn't a conflict but something else, if it does work after moving it, that means the above plugin is causing the conflict.
Jake Smith
@jakehockey10
@mouse0270 thank a deity for browser-sync. I can just manually move it for now and save the file. No change, still not defined :(
Robert McIntosh
@mouse0270
@jakehockey10 how updated is the repository you linked to? The one I am looking at appears to still being using growl instead of notify
Jake Smith
@jakehockey10
@mouse0270 I have the remarkable-bootstrap-notify in my bower.json, is that not right?
