Way to go @jasonbobe !!! Is it o.k. to tweet this, or is there a particular message you'd like me to send out to solicit more contributors?

Hey @/all! Are you still checking in here. I wanted to 1) @auremoser for the fellowship parting gift- sorry I didnt say it sooner- I meant to but I forgot because 2) I've been putting finishing touches on the OSRR course manuscript!!! So I wanted to check. For the acknowledgements section, it's customary to acknowledge funding sources. Some of them have particular rules. NSF asks you to cite grant #s, for example. So I was thinking I should acknowledge Helmsley, but since the funds didn't come directly to me, I wanted to know if there were any rules I should follow
here's what I have:
This paper was written as part of a course in Open Science and Reproducible Research offered through the Department of Entomology at Michigan State University. The authors would like to thank the Mozilla Science Lab and the rest of the open science community for their support in the drafting of this manuscript, and Stuart Gage, Manuel Colunga-Garcia and Douglas Landis for design and maintenance of the study that produced the data used herein. Data used in this study was produced with funding from the National Science Foundation Long Term Ecological Research program Grant #1027253. CB was funded by a fellowship from the Mozilla Foundation and the Leona M. and Harry B. Helmsley Charitable Trust while teaching the class resulting in this paper.

looks excellent @cbahlai , i'm glad you liked the gifts! and yes, still checking in here, just slow as molasses on my end.
Jason Bobe
@jasonbobe
um, I’m a little slow on the phonetics
is Mozilla pronounced like:
(a) MOZ-arella or
(b) MO money
i.e. is the “O” long or short?
Kaitlin Thaney
@kaythaney
@jasonbobe MO-zilla :)
Kaitlin Thaney
@kaythaney
@jasonbobe "Mo" from Mosaic - the first web browser out of NCSA that became Netscape Navigator that led to the Mozilla project. "-Zilla" from Godzilla, as it was Firefox vs the mega giant of the time, Internet Explorer, and we needed a badass figure to convey the "David and Goliath"-esque task at hand. :)
Jason Bobe
@jasonbobe
Nice! Glad I asked @kaythaney

Hey @auremoser the website template lives on! https://zipkinlab.github.io/
as this is a non-Moz use, what's the best way to credit the designers? By name? mention the design is via mozilla? Essentially, we're trying to create a friendly front-end for users who want to access the non-manuscript research products we're producing in the zipkin lab :)
Aurelia Moser
@auremoser
Oh @cbahlai ! It is very pretty, I'd love if it could like to the WOW template, I'm also trying to track all of the "forks" of this template just to show the spread of good design. Like Joey's Friendly Github tutorial, your RQM course, Jason's Biomed sharing guidebook. Thank you for letting us know! Maybe you can footnote a twee logo, or just credit Mozilla Science in the readme?

@cbahlai
Perfect! Will do!

@auremoser @stephwright Just out of curiosity If I have to rebook my flights for Mozfest should i just cancel the egencia flights? Will I be able rebook through Egencia or am I on my own to rebook. Either way is fine, but if Moz can cover the flights, I certainly wouldnt say no ;)

I already checked if I could exchange the flight through egencia, but it looks like I’d have to rebook.

Sorry to bother you with this! Thanks!

Aurelia Moser
@auremoser
@joeyklee , I answered you over email but I would call Egencia to inquire about the reschedule. What would rebooking entail? Are your flights refundable? If they aren't, it might be prohibitively expensive since flying to Europe is usually at least 1000$, unless you're flying from Germany.
Keep us posted and let me know if you need help.
Joey Lee
@joeyklee
Hi @auremoser! Ah I didn’t see your mail :(
I will call egencia and see what they can do. Otherwise, the flight should be less than 300.00 to rebook since i’m flying from Germany. I checked on friday and it was 220.00 CAD.
Joey Lee
@joeyklee
@auremoser - just called egencia, looks like rebooking is the only way to go. My first fight was only 170 so it’s not such a huge loss. Sorry about this! Would it be ok to rebook through Egencia or is it better for me to just book independently?
Stephanie Wright
@stephwright
hey @joeyklee we can only cover for one of those flights and I’m assuming we already paid for the first one, right? in which case, go ahead and book independently.
Joey Lee
@joeyklee
@stephwright got it - sorry about all the hairbrainnes!
