    Good stuff.
    I was able to get most TinyTDS tests from Appveyor to CircleCI... which is SO much faster since I do not have to do the windows builds in Ubuntu.
    I was able to yank 40m from the appveyor build and replace it a 4m build on CircleCI but going to leave a balanced CI with a mix of Ubuntu and Windows native gem builds
    Hope that made sense.

    @metaskills It all makes perfect sense and is awesome! :sparkles:

    Hi guys, is there any plan to support LocalDB on Linux?
    It would be an alternative to sqlite

    Hi guys, is there any plan to support LocalDB on Linux?
    Currently, there isnt a plan to have LocalDB per se on Linux. For now, we would recommend using Docker containers. Let us know if you think that is a good option for a lightweight development DB. Obviously its not as lightweight as sqlite but maybe it is a good middle ground?

    @mihaelablendea Do you have any estimated dates? Do you have any documentation on it?
    @mihaelablendea We are working on integration our product with SQL Server for Linux. Our product is using VDI. I will appreciate on any information VDI documentation for Linux edition.

    @twright-msft Were there any recent'ish updates for the Linux release (maybe Docker image) that included native sqlcmd or sqlpackage?
    Ken Collins
    @metaskills
    Oh... I do see /opt/mssql/bin/sqlpackage
    Travis Wright
    @twright-msft
    @metaskills Yeah, sqlpackage should be there since it ships with the mssql-server package for now and that's what we currently use to build the Docker image. We are still trying to fit in adding the contents of the mssql-tools package to the Docker image. There is an issue tracking that on GitHub. Microsoft/mssql-docker#8

    @alsong that's awesome!
    @shreyansh_ed_twitter We use Docker on Mac to install and run SQL Server
    @shreyansh_ed_twitter Here is how you can do it:
    sudo docker pull microsoft/mssql-server-linux
    docker run -e 'ACCEPT_EULA=Y' -e 'SA_PASSWORD=yourStrong(!)Password' -p 1433:1433 -d microsoft/mssql-server-linux
    note you will have to install docker first

    @BishoyS SQL Server on Linux is supported only on Ubuntu 15.10, Ubuntu 16.04, RedHat 7 and SLES 12 for now. Not supported on Fedora 25 :(
    B15H0
    @BishoyS
    @meet-bhagdev Thank you but I thought that if it is supported on Fedora 24 it will be also on Fedora 25

    Hi all - first time here and hoping for a bit of guidance. I am attempting to setup sqlsrv php extensions on elastic beanstalk as explained https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/sql-server/developer-get-started/php-rhel. The AWS Linux machine I am using is based on RHEL.

    The problem that I am encountering is:
    Error: Package: msodbcsql-13.1.4.0-1.x86_64 (packages-microsoft-com-prod)
    Requires: unixODBC >= 2.3.1
    Available: unixODBC-2.2.14-14.7.amzn1.i686 (amzn-main)
    unixODBC = 2.2.14-14.7.amzn1

    Is there another repo I should add to make a newer version of unixODBC available?

    Meet Bhagdev
    @meet-bhagdev

    @tylerssn Thanks for trying this out :) Can you try the following:
    yum remove unixODBC unixODBC-devel #to avoid conflicts
    sudo wget "https://packages.microsoft.com/rhel/6/prod/unixODBC-2.3.1-4.el6.x86_64.rpm"
    sudo rpm -ivh unixODBC-2.3.1-4.el6.x86_64.rpm
    sudo wget "https://packages.microsoft.com/rhel/6/prod/unixODBC-devel-2.3.1-4.el6.x86_64.rpm"
    sudo rpm -ivh unixODBC-devel-2.3.1-4.el6.x86_64.rpm

    Then try to install msodbcsql using yum install msodbcsql

    Tyler Mills
    @tylerssn
    @meet-bhagdev - thanks for the response. This is only for the install msodbcsql step found https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/sql-server/developer-get-started/php-rhel, correct? Should I undo curl https://packages.microsoft.com/config/rhel/7/prod.repo > /etc/yum.repos.d/mssql-release.repo
    Meet Bhagdev
    @meet-bhagdev
    @tylerssn Understood. I believe you are running an older version of RHEL. Do you know what version you are running? The curl statement would depend on that

    @All, we are moving to a new Gitter Room: https://gitter.im/Microsoft/mssql-developers. We will continue to monitor this lobby for ~1month and will switch over completely after that.

    Hi all, We are trying to integrate MS Sql server with Oracle ODI and we need to export data from SQL server using bcp utility and for that we need to install mssql-tools on Linux platform. but before installation I would like to know if it requires licensing or not? as we need to use this for commercial purpose.
