just before time ,i know one thing: i can't use Vue with Ionic.
I just ask one thing: the Vue can not use with Ionic. Now I want to ask, can I use the Vue and MUI together to develop the APP
It used or are using the Vue and MUI development APP, would you please tell me?
Gitai
@GitaiQAQ

lonic is based on AngularJS. Vue is a front-end frameworks like AngularJS. So you don't use them together. But MUI is only a CSS framework. You can use this anywhere.

Vue has a components system same as React. However, MUI isn't supporting. So you can use MUI. But not components. Maybe you can write one to be utilized.

Hello Lovely people
I want to use muicss react using npm
I have installed it and just imported into my component but it is not showing
Do I have to link the cdn even after installing via npm
Andres Morey
@amorey
Hi @OMENSAH! Yes, React has to be running on the page in order for MUI to work. You can either add React using your build script or load the files via Facebook's CDN.
For development you can also run JSX in the browser using Babel: https://www.muicss.com/docs/v1/react/introduction

@OMENSAH
@amorey I have react running and want to use mui for my ui. From the documentation they said you can add the cdn or install via bower of npm . So I used the npm but it works if I also Add the cdn to it. So I dont know why I have to do the two at the same time
thanks for your help
Andres Morey
@amorey
@OMENSAH The NPM package contains just the MUI code so you need to load React separately to get it to work. You can either add it to your app's JS file using your build system (e.g. browserify, webpack) or you can load it separately (e.g. via CDN). What are you using for your build system?

hi
anyone here?
How can I load select in css-js version with gulp / webpack
Andres Morey
@amorey
What are you trying to accomplish? Are you trying to host the files yourself or add them to your app's CSS/JS files?

hey all - anyone here?
trying to figure out the cleanest way to get a value from a muicss Input element without using refs or having crazy onChange events to manage state... is that even possible?
Andres Morey
@amorey
Hi @joshuamanns! MUI's <Input> component works the same way as React's <input> component.
For a controlled component you need to use the onChange handler:
https://facebook.github.io/react/docs/forms.html
For an uncontrolled component you can use ref on the MUI <Input> component and then access the inner <input> element via the inputElRef attribute
Joshua Manns
@joshuamanns
thans for the response @amorey ! was the inputElRef added in the release from a few days ago? I didn't see it in the version I was using
Joshua Manns
@joshuamanns
Also, I still seem to be getting an undefined return when I try to access that attribute... here's some sample code I'm testing:
// @flow
import React, { Component } from 'react';
import Input from 'muicss/lib/react/input';

class FormComponent extends Component {
  _firstName: Input

  getInput(ref: ?Input): ?HTMLElement {
    return this._firstName.inputElRef;
  }

  handleClick(e: Event): void {
    e.preventDefault();
    this.getInput(this._firstName);
  }

  render() {
    return (
      <div className="AddGuardianForm">
        <Input ref={c => {this._firstName = c;}} type="text" name="firstName" floatingLabel={true} label="First name" />
        <Button
          onClick={this.handleClick.bind(this)}
          variant="raised"
          color="primary">
          Test Input Element
        </Button>
      </div>
    );
  }
}

export default FormComponent;

@joshuamanns
I suppose using controlled components is preferred to refs either way, but I'm still curious :-)
Andres Morey
@amorey
We moved from using string refs to using function refs in 0.9.22 so inputElRef was just added. Your code should work, but it looks like there's a bug in the code that is preventing inputElRef from being attached to the <Input> instance. I think I know what the problem is. I'll fix it later today and ping you on gitter.
Andres Morey
@amorey

@joshuamanns I have a branch with the bug fixed but I'm debating what to call the attribute. Which of these do you prefer?

  * inputEl
  * controlEl
  * inputElRef
  * controlElRef

The benefit to controlEl* is that we can use the same attribute name for <input> and <textarea> elements.

Andres Morey
@amorey
@joshuamanns I've published a new version of MUI that uses controlEl as the instance attribute name for all control elements (checkbox/input/radio/select/textarea) (v0.9.23):
https://www.muicss.com/
https://www.npmjs.com/package/muicss
I've also updated the docs to reflect these changes and to show more examples:
https://www.muicss.com/docs/v1/react/input

@joshuamanns
hey @amorey sorry for the delay as I was on a holiday this weekend. But thank you for the bug fix! This seems very useful and I agree with your naming convention. I'll give it a try in a little while when I go to refactor my code

Hi - any pointers on getting icons next to text in the dropdown with React?
Tried this but no joy: <DropdownItem label={<FileUpload />}>Upload</DropdownItem>
Andres Morey
@amorey
@nicholac - The label attribute accepts HTML. Here's an example with HTML:
https://jsfiddle.net/muicss/cdeb5sxq/
You can use this feature to embed an icon image, svg or whichever is your preferred method for embedding icons.
nicholac
@nicholac
Thanks Andres - I'll give it a try
