Or I will use postman to call rest api :P
But how does it work with domino ui as there is no domino ui word on this project?
Frank Hossfeld
@FrankHossfeld
Pls wait, i‘ll be back on my computer in a few minutes.
Frank Hossfeld
@FrankHossfeld
Thanks to @brainflake2267 I could compile again and update the generator.
Daniel Korbel
@masterdany88
it works again but domino ui is not avalible anymore :(
Frank Hossfeld
@FrankHossfeld
Well it looks like I need a new domain .... 😀

@niloc132
nalu dot anything isn't going to be cheap...
Frank Hossfeld
@FrankHossfeld
Yep, just discover .. will try nalukit.
Colin Alworth
@niloc132
taking the domino approach to a domain i see?
Frank Hossfeld
@FrankHossfeld
Yep … Nalu will get a new groupid: com.github.nalukit. so. it will fot …
Colin Alworth
@niloc132
nalu.one? nalu.run? nalu.tools?
oooh nalu.ist
Frank Hossfeld
@FrankHossfeld
0.39 € /m …. that’s ok …
Colin Alworth
@niloc132
now i really want gwt.haus
Frank Hossfeld
@FrankHossfeld
Nalu-kit.org
Gwt-haus is cool.
Co you thing nalu-kit.org is ok …
I think, I like it.
Colin Alworth
@niloc132
i wonder if you shouldnt have a domain for you, and make nalu or mvp4g part of it as a subdomain
so that people know it is still you making both tools
Frank Hossfeld
@FrankHossfeld
Yeah, I have one … and will - once I have updated - link both projects. But I will gave both an own domain and link back to my domain.
Frank Hossfeld
@FrankHossfeld
@all I have created a new gitter room for question about Nalu: https://gitter.im/Nalukit42/Lobby

@noledgy
Hi all. We have been using mvp4g since it's release and have a substantial code base with it running on Java 7. I know that GWT 2.8.2 lets you run Java 8. What version of mvp4g runs Java 8? Are there code changes we have to do to get it running? Thank you.
Frank Hossfeld
@FrankHossfeld
Hi, I have used the latest version of mvp4g (think it’s 1.5.3) with Java 1.8 and GWT 2.8.2 without any problems and code chances. Not sure, if you need to update the dependencies (esp. GIN).
noledgy
@noledgy
Thanks, Frank. When you say update the dependencies, do you mean the versions of the dependencies, or actual dependency changes? Is there any way to tell what needs to be updated? Maybe from compile or runtime errors?
Frank Hossfeld
@FrankHossfeld
No, I am only speaking about updating the version.
I can look at one of my project later and post it here.
noledgy
@noledgy
Thanks Frank, I appreciate it.

@FrankHossfeld

I think the following dependencies and versions are required for Java 8 & GTW 2.8.2:

  • aopallience-1.0
  • gin-2.1.2 (it must be the latest version)
  • giuce-3.0
  • guice-assistedinject-3.0
  • javax.inject.jar

Btw, you should take a look at Nalu … for new projecrts … https://github.com/NaluKit/nalu

noledgy
@noledgy
Great, I’ll try out those setting. I did take a look at Nalu, looks really good. I’m a correct that the doc says no multi-modules yet?
Frank Hossfeld
@FrankHossfeld
Regarding mvp4g2, no, very hard to do with APT. Regarding Nalu, there is something called Plugin. (See: https://github.com/NaluKit/nalu-examples/tree/master/NaluDominoLoginPluginApplication) I use it to create logical units in a Nalu project.

@noledgy
Frank, thank you so much for your help. It was a lot of work because it is a very large project with multiple web apps and a web mobile app. Also, we had some libraries that were causing UiBinder compiler issues. But now we are completely moved over to Java 1.8 and are able to use Java 1.8 features and JsInterop. Will study Nalu for future projects.

@RE-zz
Hi! I want to upgrade from Java 1.8 / GWT 2.8.2 / mvp4g to Java 14 / GWT 2.9 / mvp4g2. Can you provide a migration guide?
Frank Hossfeld
@FrankHossfeld
Hi, I would not expect any problems. Just update the version.
RE-zz
@RE-zz
Thanks for your quick response! I will try :-)
RE-zz
@RE-zz
Hi Frank! Multi module support is planned for mvp4g2. Do you have a roadmap when the feature is available? Or is there another way for code splitting?
Frank Hossfeld
@FrankHossfeld
Hi, I have no roadmap for Multi module, cause this is one of the hard things to do. And to be honest, I I switch my applications to Nalu. I find it quite easier to do things with Nalu than with mvp4g & mvp4g2. And the switch is quite easy. You can reuse a lot of code from mvp4g with a few changes and get a more powerful framework. So, if you think about a migration, I would switch to Nalu.
RE-zz
@RE-zz
Have vou got a migration guide or something like this?
Frank Hossfeld
@FrankHossfeld
Here you can generate an example project to play with or use it as a start point.
There is a wiki with a lot informations: https://github.com/NaluKit/nalu/wiki
You will find several people using Nalu at least more than mvp4g user and they help very much.
And there are many examples: https://github.com/NaluKit/nalu-examples
And, I think, I will do another talk in the GWT Community Hangout in two weeks. Need to talk to Colin/Justin first.
Frank Hossfeld
@FrankHossfeld
And of yourse, you can ask me questions.
