Hi, First time page load is very slow, about 15 seconds. I explored and came to know that it would be fine if i user server-side rendering. Can anyone help me to achieve fast first page-load. I've no experience with server-side rendering.

Three questions from a beginner:
1) Why is not react-boilerplate listed here: https://github.com/facebook/create-react-app#popular-alternatives
2) Why is react-boilerplate using the deprecated '@babel/polyfill' package
3) Is this the right place to ask these questions?

Hi... I am new to react-boilerplate..

I have a route:

<Route exact path="/categories/edit/:id" component={CategoryFormPage} />

In my containers/app/index.js

How can I get the ":id" parameter from my CategoryFormPage container? I tried to use "useParams" but it gives me an error.

Jacques Nel
@jacques-trixta_gitlab
@setiawanh check your props for your container, there should be a match prop. match.params.id
setiawanh
@setiawanh
Thank you @jacques-trixta_gitlab . How do we get props in the container? I tries to use this.props but it says 'this' is undefined.
export function CategoryFormPage({...}) { ... } is how my container looks like.
Jacques Nel
@jacques-trixta_gitlab
@setiawanh Thats a stateless component. and will not have this.props. Unless the Component extends React.Component its just a function and you need to pass the props down to that container
@setiawanh I think the latest version of the boilerplate removes stateful components and makes use of hooks, the new approach to do React. Unfortunately, I have not made use of this yet.
setiawanh
@setiawanh
Hi @jacques-trixta_gitlab I got it figured out.. apparently, I just need to add CategoryFormPage({ ..., match }) { const id = match.params.id; ... } to get it...
Thanks alot for your help!

Hello,
Any help for making pwa version of this boilerplate with service worker ? @michaelcuneo @howardya @howardya

@michaelcuneo
@benstitou I believe this channel for react-boilerplate is dead. It shoud have been removed over a year ago. The new channel is react-boilerplate on Spectrum Chat, which was another chat app made by Max Stoiber & colleagues.
@benstitou When you say …. making it a PWA version, with service worker? It’s already a boilerplate for a PWA… and it already has a service worker. There are many things you would need to add before it became fully PWA compliant though. I use react-responsive for responsive layouts so that it works on all devices. I add all of the meta information for allowing it to be saved to the home screen, etc...
@benstitou I have a version of react-boilerplate that I use for nearly every project I work on these days, with most of these provisions already set up so I can just continue turning it into an app… I’ll make it public soon and link you.
Michael Cuneo
@michaelcuneo
@benstitou https://spectrum.chat/react-boilerplate?tab=posts … here’s where the help sits these days.
Michael Cuneo
@michaelcuneo
@benstitou obviously the sw.js doesn’t become a thing until you build, and publish it somewhere. Because it doesn’t need the serviceworker to run locally.

Hey guys, how are you? I’m having an issue with selectors, i think there is something i don’t understand. I have the following state

{
  home: {
    cart: {
      id1: 3,
      id2: 4
    }
  }
}

And i want to make a selector for amount of products by id. But i’m not sure how can i adapt this https://github.com/reduxjs/reselect#accessing-react-props-in-selectors to my solution. Can anybode help me with this? Thanks!

I have already this selector
export const makeSelectCart = () =>
  createSelector(
    selectHome,
    substate => substate.cart,
  );
