@dschinkel
ok np
you publish that through Travis I assume
Nathan Black
@nathanboktae
Nope. From my macbook. It's done - 0.5.6 is up
is your project to have a website where you can just click and run a tests and get results?
Dave Schinkel
@dschinkel
I am test driving my new website so starting out-side in with UI tests to drive my design
so that’s why I’m using casper
my site is actually private, what I threw up is for others to check out if they wanted to know quickly or see a working example of mocha-casper and tests running
thanks for pushing the change

Hi all, I'm trying to figure out how to incorporate mocha-casperjs into a gulp process. Can anyone help me? I'm pretty experienced with JS, Mocha and Chai, but gulp/grunt are new to me
David Higgins
@thehig
The intended use case is to have my test files written in coffee script with chai style expects tested as part of a build-script using gulp.
Nathan Black
@nathanboktae
It's a process exec in the end since mocha-casperjs runs in phantomjs with no node code.
David Higgins
@thehig
Hey, I appreciate the reply. I took your info, slapped myself on the forehead and moved on. However, i'm having some issues now getting mocha-casperjs to run properly. I've opened an issue nathanboktae/mocha-casperjs#89
If there's anything I can do to help, just let me know :)
This isn't essential to my workflow, and I probably shouldn't have spent so much time on it
But I went as far as I could examining it before the aul brain just gave up

Hey, could anyone help me with using express to get data from the user and then scraping data using casper?

Hi @all, Is there a alternative for grunt-mocha-casperjs, to be used in gulp?
Nathan Black
@nathanboktae
Yes there is gulp-mocha-casperjs. Also there is your shell or any way to spawn a process.
Rahul
@RahulReddy75
@nathanboktae can you please provide the link where i can find this module.. please..
Nathan Black
@nathanboktae
I am not your secretary. Google it yourself or npm install gulp-mocha-casperjs
Rahul
@RahulReddy75
'gulp-mocha-casperjs' is not in the npm registry.
my secretary will know what he says...
the package is not in the first two pages of google search.. must be really f-ed up...
Rahul
@RahulReddy75
i would switch to a better framework. May be where the author knows what he says... thats for the useless help...
Nathan Black
@nathanboktae
Ah yes I was wrong as I got gulp-mocha-casperjs and gulp-mocha-phantomjs mixed up so there is no gulp version.
It's all a process / shell command in the end so it's easy to do. If you are going to not use some package because the other isn't maintaining a wrapper for one of the many Node.js build systems, your gonna be switching a lot.
mocha-casperjs does not run your tests in Node, but in phantomjs.

Hi Nathan

I am trying to install mocha-casperjs but I keep getting
npm WARN mocha-casperjs@0.5.7 requires a peer of mocha@>= 1.14.0 but none was installed.
npm WARN mocha-casperjs@0.5.7 requires a peer of casperjs@>= 1.1.0-beta3 but none was installed.

Pretty sure I have both of them installed. Any tips?

Nathan Black
@nathanboktae
I'm guessing you're using npm v3? Yeah it doesn't install peerDependencies by default, so if you're doing a global installation fresh, you'll need to npm install -g mocha casperjs mocha-casperjs.

@xialvjun
can casperjs use phantomjs includeJs
xialvjun
@xialvjun
casper.on('remote.message', function(msg) {
console.log(msg)
});casperjs.evaluate(function(){ setInterval(function(){console.log('123')}, 1000) });
it seems not work
Nathan Black
@nathanboktae
not sure if remote.message is a supported thing in casperjs. I also don't know what include.js . Your question is specific to casperjs not mocha-casperjs too, so you'd be best to follow up with them. Search documentation around and if you think there is still an issue, file a GitHub issue with casperjs guys.
xialvjun
@xialvjun
thanks, @nathanboktae , I've found it's my code's other problem. Nothing wrong with casperjs. And besides, casperjs indeed support 'remote.message' event which will be invoked by phantomjs's 'window.callPhantom'.
Rob Styles
@mmmmmrob
Hi, thanks for mocha-casperjs :)
We want to test interactions between two signed in users — is it possible to have two instance of casper with separate contexts (cookies, etc) so a test can operate them as two users?
Rob Styles
@mmmmmrob
@nathanboktae any thoughts on how I might be able to run two browser sessions?
Nathan Black
@nathanboktae
@mmmmmrob Uh that's very tricky. AFAIK Casper only has one phantomjs WebPage object. I have done a similar thing you did before, but I had to go down to the phantomjs level to do the other user.
Nathan Black
@nathanboktae
Yeah casperjs is still 1:1 with the phantomjs webpage object https://github.com/casperjs/casperjs/blob/master/modules/casper.js#L1814-L1816 but could you have multiple casper instances? See this casperjs/casperjs#465

I'm having an issue where using CasperJS/PhantomJS pulls up a different page from the browser (it says that the site is down). Could this be a prevention mechanism from the site? More info http://stackoverflow.com/questions/43712234/casperjs-and-phantomjs-trigger-site-is-offline-browser-doesnt
Nathan Black
@nathanboktae
What version of casperjs are you running? old versions default to SSL v3 which most every site stopped supporting after a vulnerability was detected.

Does anybody to know that how to setup casperjs with slimerjs engine on windows based Jenkins as I am getting errors. Firefox never spawned and it seems it require some script
Nathan Black
@nathanboktae
Windows and Jenkins, whew, good luck. Realize you are not truely headless at that point.
