I wanted to give the django-tables2 a try, to learn about the library.
Going forward do you have any other plot ideas, @mateuszz0000?
Should we show trends in demographics of those affected? Or, maybe a card with the latest news, using an api
mateuszz0000
@mateuszz0000
I think both

Is the home page loading a little slow only on my local computer or due to large data being downloaded before rendering the template? Is this just my network problem? :) I will check it today after returning home, where I have a faster network.

@BrianRuizy
The home page also loads much slower for me, I will consider some refactoring. And, see how else we can improve the initial load time

Hi everyone! I am working on a version of this dashboard but on a national scale. I want to show COVID-19 outbreak information in the different regions of Spain.

The home page also loads much slower for me, I will consider some refactoring. And, see how else we can improve the initial load time

I think this issue is related to the way in which you render the plot_divs with the plot function in plots.py

The px.plot() function has a kwarg parameter include_plotlyjswhich is by default set to True
This directly puts a lot of javascript in the divs, which makes the page slow.
Miguel Ángel
@Miguel-ASM
In my project I set include_plotlyjs=False and link the plotly CDN in the head of the templates
This should make the page load faster
I can create a pull request

Holá Miguel, thank you for your contribution #36. I had commented on there asking for clarification, but I see now, your comment here :)
I do see an improvement in initial load time.

@Rahmsauce, are the tables working in your local server?
They don't show for me.
I've been meaning to add some new cool functionality to the site, but I've been tied to other projects.
Also, @/all, the site isn't running on Heroku due to used up usage hours. I'm going to sort that out

@BrianRuizy The tables seem to be working fine for me.
I am excited to see the new features! Take your time if you're busy though.

Thank you @BrianRuizy for inviting me as a collaborator and granting me the permission to push. Before I start making changes concerning #55 however, I wanted to know what you think about the idea of increasing comparability by only showing country based information on the world map and whether it is worth the trade-off of no longer showing regional information.
Brian Ruiz
@BrianRuizy

@Rahmsauce, no problem!
And on #55, it is something I've come to consider because it skews the true comparison of the visualization among countries. I had decided to just wait it out, because JHU is constantly updating the datasets. Some months back there was no data on South American cities and now there's plenty.

So again, unless we could source other countries' data, I would say leave it as such.

Brian Ruiz
@BrianRuizy
@Rahmsauce, I was thinking of maybe adding a demographics section to the sidebar. And, maybe accessing some news api to show a card with latest global news.
What do you think? 😊
*you all
Rahmsauce
@Rahmsauce
Your ideas sound pretty neat! Concerning the demographics section, I wonder what kind of data were you planning to display?
Brian Ruiz
@BrianRuizy
Simple ones such as gender, age etc.. with respective visualizations like pie or bar plots
Rahmsauce
@Rahmsauce
Sure, this is going to be a great addition the the project. I'm looking forward to it!

Hey @BrianRuizy, what do you think about the colors in #55 ? Can I leave them as they are or should I try to recreate the previous look before I merge the changes?

I’ve only been developing web-apps for about a year now and I’m self taught (went to school for civil eng.) so I’m by no think my suggestions have much credibility - but I was curious if the idea of adding some kind of cookie that reads the users general location (like country) and centers the map automatically upon loading the site. Is this possible? I would love to research more into this and contribute in some way if possible!
Also, @BrianRuizy great work on this app it’s incredibly slick! 🙌
Brian Ruiz
@BrianRuizy
@Brlaney42 Cool background. And thanks for the feedback
@Brlaney42 , I like that idea, and it is totally possible
the centering is actually already in the code. The challenge would just be getting the users location.
mapbox: {
                    style: "carto-positron",
                    center: {lat: 29.76, lon: -95.36},
                    zoom: 5
                }
For instance I'm in Houston, TX USA. And the following longitude and latitude at zoom level 5 worked good.

It is the truth that it really helps to improve health. You know, in this case, I would like to advise this site https://www.neurogan.com/blog/benefits-of-cbd-gummies/ that will definitely help you get rid of fatigue and other things that stand in the way of normal rest. So click on the link and make sure it's convenient.

When it comes to rest, it's really hard for me to spend some free time just relaxing, and because of that, I had to find an option to make money and get entertained at the same time, and cs go turned out to be a great option. I manage to make money by selling skins, and you can check out all m9 bayonet skins to see how profitable it can be, so for me, it was the best solution.

Hi! I have recently become very nervous and aggressive because of everything that is happening in the world. My friend therefore decided to give me a good gift- marijuana seeds in order for me to start relaxing. I think you understand that this is really a great way to relax and besides, it has a very positive effect on the nervous system!

How have you dealt with loneliness during covid and pandemic? It was a rather difficult time for me, but dating sites helped me a lot. I found the most suitable dating site by reading flirt com review . This is very convenient because you can immediately find out the pros and cons of different dating sites and choose what you like best.
