@frxnz

I have a Pi 2 coming today and trying to decide what OS to put on it

I'd stick with Raspbian at the moment. I've tried a couple of other distros recently and there's so much broken stuff it isn't funny...

@fivdi @remybach I’ve been out most of the weekend, but I did look into the situation a little bit. The crash specifically is happening because J5 is passing undefined as a pin number to pinMode
I’ve got a fix in the works I’ll probably get published tomorrow to make the crash more clear…but it won’t fix the crash
I think the best course of action is to follow up with the rest of the J5 crew to try and track this down

@bryan-m-hughes @remybach Fixing the crash is one of the issues. Adding support for analog inputs to Raspi-io is the other. Some sort of strategy is needed here. The solutions I proposed above are probably not the best. Raspi-io should have a standard way for interfacing with analog devices. That could be a board like the ADC Pi, but it could be something else. Perhaps there could be several alternatives.

Off the top of my head, I feel like the best architecture is to create a new Raspi.js, or at least Raspi.js-like, module for it, but it isn’t enabled by default. Rather, it could be something enabled through the raspi-io constructor, or possibly even passed in like how raspi-io is passed in to J5.

Yes, something like that would be good as there are a ton of possibilities for interface to analog inputs.
