    @neilstuartcraig
    that should do the job
    you can also enable development mode (which restarts when most files - e.g. actions) are edited
    Sebastien Stettler
    @billybonks
    ye currently in development mode
    Neil Craig
    @neilstuartcraig
    ok cool
    the log level should be what you need then
    Neil Craig
    @neilstuartcraig
    @billybonks - how did you get on with the plugin?
    Sebastien Stettler
    @billybonks
    Off the bat seems to be working fine, just tested a general overview will let u know when I use it more. But passport github redirected to wrong within url. But maybe was cause was using fake keys. Will be better to store faith creds in ignored config file for security. We can use naming conventions for auto mapping
    Neil Craig
    @neilstuartcraig
    yeah it sent me to the wrong URL when i had fake keys but worked when i used real ones
    i havent tested with a publicly available server for the oAuth return though
    that’s the main thing i wanted to test first
    Sebastien Stettler
    @billybonks
    Cool, I'll probably work open a pull for small changes and maybe a Dec if I want something more extreme
    U
    Neil Craig
    @neilstuartcraig
    ok cool, sounds good
    i’m not sure if i’ll use the plugin or not myself but there seemed to be some demand for it so it’s a starter at least
    Neil Craig
    @neilstuartcraig
    So I just did a little testing with ngrok (https://ngrok.com/) and it seems to work ok, at least as stage 1
    I havent done the post with the code sent in the oAuth callback but I will try to test it
    Neil Craig
    @neilstuartcraig
    Just successfully tested the whole oAuth chain on github (#2 on https://developer.github.com/v3/oauth/#redirect-urls)
    I need to add more code and another config option or 2 but it’s working just fine from what I can see
    i’ll update the github repo and npm over the next few days

    @jcarty
    @neilstuartcraig Any luck with newer versions? I've tried porting it up but still a bit new to actionhero.
    Neil Craig
    @neilstuartcraig
    Hi @jcarty - I haven’t looked at that yet, i’ve been working on some other stuff the last few weeks. I can port it to AH v11 if you need it though, looks relatively simple (i think :-))
    Jerome Carty
    @jcarty
    I'm trying out Facebook + web auth, as well. I'm sure that has a bit more to do with my trouble than anything else.
    Neil Craig
    @neilstuartcraig
    oh cool, i only tried github so far - that seemed fine
    Jerome Carty
    @jcarty
    Yeah, that worked fine.
    Neil Craig
    @neilstuartcraig
    i am intending on porting my plugins to v11, just want to finish up the front end stuff i’m working on - some polymer components
    Jerome Carty
    @jcarty
    Ah, cool. Take your time. I'll tinker in the meantime.
    Neil Craig
    @neilstuartcraig
    Will do. Hoping to get going on porting the plugins over the next week or so. Big project on at work too...
    Jerome Carty
    @jcarty
    Sounds good. RE Facebook, seems to get all the way to the callback but I don't seem to be hitting the StrategyVerifyFunction.
    Neil Craig
    @neilstuartcraig
    OK, i see. I’ll give you a shout on here once i port it - i’ll do this plugin first. Then maybe we can see if we can get FB auth to work
    hopefully it’ll be something simple i missed
    Jerome Carty
    @jcarty
    Hope so. I'll help out with the other provider examples once we get Facebook working.
    Jerome Carty
    @jcarty
    @neilstuartcraig got it sorted. looks like it needed middleware for data.connection.rawConnection.req.query or it fails.
    Neil Craig
    @neilstuartcraig
    Great, thanks :-)
    Jerome Carty
    @jcarty
    @neilstuartcraig would you be against renaming the api binding from api.AHPassportPlugin to just api.passport? Seems it would be more readable when attempting to port similar code.
    Neil Craig
    @neilstuartcraig
    Hi @jcarty - apologies for the delay, busy times! I have just converted the plugin so it should now be actionhero v11 compatible
    it runs ok and the github strategy works on my dev machine
    Jerome Carty
    @jcarty
    @neilstuartcraig thanks!
    Neil Craig
    @neilstuartcraig
    No worries :-). Let me know how you get on, if you use the plugin again. I’d still like to progress it

    @l0oky
    Hello
    Is this room active?
    Neil Craig
    @neilstuartcraig
    Hi @l0oky - not often but I'm here. Just going to be busy putting my children to bed but I'll try to answer any questions you have
    Muhamed Krlić
    @l0oky
    Ahh, great! Umm I've been hearing about passport for a long time but the shear size of the module confused me last time I tried it.
    Will that module provide JWT token generation and validation for my endpoints?
    Muhamed Krlić
    @l0oky
    By installing ah-passport-plugin I can use any strategy that is available for passport right?
    I am planning to use http jwt bearer strategy
    Neil Craig
    @neilstuartcraig
    This package doesn't provide jwt but it should allow you to use any strategy. I should stress that this plugin is not yet thoroughly tested any might be a little out of date with action hero. I am planning to update it but haven't had time yet.

    @AyzPat
    hw to have a google auth using passport?
    owen-m1
    @owen-m1
    Hey guys, I know this isn't a chat for Passport as a whole but I can't find anyone who knows passportjs who can answer my question
    I'm using expressjs and mysql with SequelizeJS to create my own user authentication system
    I'm wondering if I used passport what would it do for me?
