    Hello we have installed XRDP in one of our ubuntu 18.04.04 sandbox and performance looks very slow. is there any help for improving the same? did any one faced this issue?
    Derek Schrock
    @derekschrock
    @metalefty I'm wondering if you're running to limitations of the i915/i965 for the given hardware driver less the stability of dri support.
    If you change the vlc setting: Prefs, Video, Output, X11 video output should get video in VLC.
    Do you have any steps to make Xorg crash? I've been using dri3 on rhel7 with nouveau for a couple months now and I've never had Xorg crash.
    Derek Schrock
    @derekschrock
    My usage is rather limited though.
    metalefty
    @metalefty
    at least vlc will crash when playing back videos. until further confirmation, hardware acceleration should be opt-in.

    Hi,
    I am using xorgxrdp with xrdp 9.12 version with guacamole getway. my observation is whem i am opening a application on xrdp session it take huge bandwidth over wan.
    is there any tuning to take xrdp low bandwidth utilization
    Derek Schrock
    @derekschrock
    @metalefty While I might agree that it shouldn't be enabled by default disabling via a config option might be a better way of disabling it? Setting DRI3 in xorg.conf will disable it. That way a rebuild of the package isn't needed.

    Help. Does anyone know how to contact the developers or if there is a support forum for xrdp?
    manoj2patil
    @manoj2patil
    PLease look into bandwidth utilization is more than MSTSC Rdp and we comapre through wireshark .

    Hi, I'm having a little bit of trouble setting up xrdp and connecting a client to it. I'm using aFreeRDP on my android phone to try connect to xrdp running on Linux Mint.
    looking at the xrdp.ini and sesman.ini, I'm a little confused as to what port it's using. both files reference a "listining port" one is 3350 and the other is 3389
    I'm also unsure as to what I should put in the "domain" in the client when putting in the credentials.
    the wiki has lots of info on compiling xrdp but almost none on setting it up and getting it running.
    metalefty
    @metalefty
    @derekschrock actually it cannot disabled completely by config. I enabled again DRI3 option by default but disable it again again.
    I got this. As I mentioned already, it should be opt-in.
    [drm] GPU HANG: ecode 7:0:0x97f4ffff, in Xorg [100659], reason: Hang on rcs0, action: reset

    Derek Schrock
    @derekschrock
    @metalefty You have the full xorg.x.log?
    Derek Schrock
    @derekschrock
    @metalefty I'm thinking we might need 'Option DRI2 "0"' in there as well.
    metalefty
    @metalefty
    I'll find the full log later. At least I'm sure both DRI2/3 are turned off.

    metalefty
    @metalefty
    @pattymick54 what do you mean session timeout in your context?

    @MadEddieFFS
    Any idea why yum install xrdp returns
    No match for argument: xrdp Error: Unable to find a match: xrdp
    metalefty
    @metalefty
    it depends on your distro, ask the distro team
