Have you seen AWS Batch? Looks like it might fit in as a nice alternative to having to manage clusters/etc.

Yes I saw it, interesting but I was not impressed
Then the usual problem, if u develop a workflow for aws batch, you are locked in with that

Agreed - the lockin issue is there, but would it be a viable option as an executor within nextflow? I only bring it up because I could see it being cheaper than managing/running a cluster on AWS.
