hi
is it possible to resume a process in a specific working directory? For example i run nextflow log and want to resume process pensive_pauling. This command does not work for me:
nextflow run main.nf -resume pensive_pauling

if a process failed it's always re-executed in a new working directory
to guarantee a consistent result

thats fine, i just want to read the starting state from an older execution. I added a new process at the end of my pipeline and want to avoid the time consuming steps happening before.
Using only -resume just resumes the last execution and I am somehow unable to execute an older process

you can specify an older run specifying the session id you find in the log

I tried this... can you tell me if this syntax is correct? nextflow run main.nf -resume pensive_pauling

nope, the session id is a log hexadecimal number
that is the run name

Then this should work?
nextflow run main.nf -resume e73e0ef8ee

you should see something like this
use the number in the SESSION ID column eg a6ad3a91-23cf-40a1-9d08-d90a5d4acad8
