anyone using the pebble app from wip/ui-refresh, I think it's ready to go, but would like a couple more :+1: 's

From a tech marketing/documentation perspective, I'd like to ask you guys to tag stuff as #beta if you post picture etc. We have finally reduced confusion around color vs grey build, and I think clear expectations around "released" version are important for support.

pebble endpoint is different for mmol
that's all
oh, I guess she has different alarm setup
Jason Calabrese
@jasoncalabrese
Aug 04 2014 20:41
the pebble endpoint should be the same for both, we'll have to correct that next
Ben West
@bewest
Aug 04 2014 20:44
er, it's the same, but query string sets it to mmol
?units=mmol
but that can be simple toggle switch in the config page, too
Jason Calabrese
@jasoncalabrese
Aug 04 2014 20:44
but we have a env var
Ben West
@bewest
Aug 04 2014 20:44
that's true
it should respect env var
that's a bug, for sure
Jason Calabrese
@jasoncalabrese
Aug 04 2014 20:45
or set it in the pebble settings
Ben West
@bewest
Aug 04 2014 20:45
yeah
in pebble config page, it's easy to add toggle/button to deal with that
so I want to push back a bit more on this battery stuff... propose keeping it as a long living experimental branch
but I don't want to upset people either
I don't think it's a good idea to tie battery levels to sgv records
it may have an effect on battery itself
worry it will kind of stiffen the code, making it hard to transition to more extensible, pluggable stuff

I can see both sides
Ben West
@bewest
Aug 04 2014 20:47
but I understand wanting it if it's "available"
is it possible to set up lietenants for experimental features?
Jason Calabrese
@jasoncalabrese
Aug 04 2014 20:48
as it is now the pebble will show the battery info if it's sent by the server, so most people won't see it
Ben West
@bewest
Aug 04 2014 20:48
yeah, that seems fine; it can display person's name otherwise?
so it's not necessarily wasted space?
thought I saw that

name on the left battery on the right
without it there's a hole
Ben West
@bewest
Aug 04 2014 20:49
mmm
ok, but it's not clear why battery should be there 90% of the time either
most of the time it's not terribly useful information
until last 20%, at which point it's useful
or as a "connected" status indicator
Jason Calabrese
@jasoncalabrese
Aug 04 2014 20:50
thats true

that's one of ross' big objections, FWIW
lane and ross worked pretty hard on making sure that the entire UI is useful, removing information, adding information
the apple philosophy that seems popular is to err on the side of not including everything in order to make sure everything present is useful all the time
