@bewest so the last piece to not be 'hosted' (see: easy) would be mongo
Ben West
@bewest
Aug 15 2014 00:10
hmm
and mqtt
I'm really pushing for mqtt :-)
azure and heroku do not allowing binding to random ports
only http
but there are mqtt hosts just like mongo, completely free
and we'll get connectivity status and some other things very easily

2 receivers
Ben West
@bewest
Aug 15 2014 05:28
so are you enrolling all recievers?
brandon keeps one spare
he is careful to calibrate both at same time
and they are pretty much mirror image
Jason Calabrese
@jasoncalabrese
Aug 15 2014 05:29

Ben West
@bewest
Aug 15 2014 05:29

Aug 15 2014 05:33
saw the email, but didn't look at the details, sounds really good
Ben West
@bewest
Aug 15 2014 05:33
yeah
didn't get to dig in either
but very exciting to see it start to come to fruition
next few months are going to have some awesome updates if we can keep it up
heh
especially if we can start organizing install parties
Jason Calabrese
@jasoncalabrese
Aug 15 2014 05:34
yeah, I'm going to see how far I can get with the care portal, thinking that even a demo at next weeks meeting would be good
Ben West
@bewest
Aug 15 2014 05:35
for school?
Jason Calabrese
@jasoncalabrese
Aug 15 2014 05:35
then I can roll it out to them a little later
yeah
Ben West
@bewest
Aug 15 2014 05:35
I've been punting a bit on auth/acl/scheduled views
I really want to implement scheduled views well
really excited about that
begged them for 2 years to consider letting me do it for group poicies
Jason Calabrese
@jasoncalabrese
Aug 15 2014 05:36
would be nice for some people, I'm not worried about the privacy for us
Ben West
@bewest
Aug 15 2014 05:36
I'm not pesonally sensitive to the privacy issue
Jason Calabrese
@jasoncalabrese
Aug 15 2014 05:36
but would like to make so other can't cancel an alram
Ben West
@bewest
Aug 15 2014 05:36
but being able to schedule a view for someone is cool
very empowering for people who are sensitive
Jason Calabrese
@jasoncalabrese
Aug 15 2014 05:37
yeah, makes a lot of sense
Ben West
@bewest
Aug 15 2014 05:37
finally 9 months after I left, they shipped group policies with schedule
and re-used my code for it
Jason Calabrese
@jasoncalabrese
Aug 15 2014 05:37
seems like the perfect bounty feature
Ben West
@bewest
Aug 15 2014 05:37
that's interesting idea
yeah
let the market drive it
Jason Calabrese
@jasoncalabrese
Aug 15 2014 05:38
there are some things that we really need, others that would be really nice
Ben West
@bewest
Aug 15 2014 05:38
agree, it's not top thing
why I keep punting it
Jason Calabrese
@jasoncalabrese
Aug 15 2014 05:38
but for some people, I bet it is top
Ben West
@bewest
Aug 15 2014 05:38
the people that are sensitive tend to be very sensitive
I definitely don't want to enable some crappy auth that makes people enter passwords, makes people feel secure, but isn't
how are we doing on your hit list?
your hit list seemed like a good compromise
on things that would actually affect a lot of people and matter
Jason Calabrese
@jasoncalabrese
Aug 15 2014 05:41
not sure exactly what's left for the care portal, it's going to be a stretch to get ready in time
but should be good to demo and start testing
but I think I'm ready to move over to the community version, it's now better in all ways from my old fork
