Yeah kevin ported it over into the main ns uploader
it makes more sense for that to be its primary home since that deals with data in dexcoms format already anyway
and relied on a lot of libraries I had to use of theirs

Mar 23 2015 00:01
yeah I'm just using xdrip to upload the data to mongo

@StephenBlackWasAlreadyTaken
Mar 23 2015 00:02
yeah, At one point they may become the same thing, the android uploader is being built out to support multiple collection methods like dexdrip was, the only big difference will probably end up being a need for a calibration algorithm

the bluetooth?!
share stuff?

@bewest Do you see any issue with merging Heroku support for share2nightscout-bridge?
It works perfectly on Heroku and is really easy to deploy.
I sent a PR with some updates to the app.json file... I'd be happy to tweak the README.md if you're ready to equally support Azure and Heroku
Ben West
@bewest
Mar 23 2015 18:18
yeah, been thinking about it, there's a branch with some stuff in it
was thinking about moving the 3 step thing into the wiki
and create a similar pictographic one for heroku
but, perhaps we should integrate it with c-r-m proper
or maybe once ble support lands, it won't matter?
if android and iphone both have ble bridging, do we still need this?
Jim Sifferle
@jimsiff
Mar 23 2015 18:21
We don't need it necessarily but I'm sure there are some who want to use the Dexcom apps but retain the Pebble.
Keeping the bridge offers an easy way for Share users to see what Nightscout has to offer without committing to anything beyond a quick bridge and site deploy.
Ben West
@bewest
Mar 23 2015 18:23
ok, this bridge can be built into the webapp itself
so, that would reduce deploy down to one
Jim Sifferle
@jimsiff
Mar 23 2015 18:23
That would be nice.
Ben West
@bewest
Mar 23 2015 18:23
with updates, etc.
Jim Sifferle
@jimsiff
Mar 23 2015 18:23
One app, one dyno on Heroku, one update.

Mar 23 2015 20:19
I haven't tested, but I'm 80% sure that building it into the webapp will kick it back under the free usage quotas
Jim Sifferle
@jimsiff
Mar 23 2015 21:52
@bewest any chance it's easy enough to implement in time for the E release?
Ben West
@bewest
Mar 23 2015 21:54
not sure
think we should start to treat it as cooked
start planning for next revs
Jim Sifferle
@jimsiff
Mar 23 2015 21:55
Yeah
Ben West
@bewest
Mar 23 2015 21:55
there are bunch of things happening that could co-ordinate to make it easy
we've talked about making things push/event based rather than poll based
getting that done would make it much much easier
Jim Sifferle
@jimsiff
Mar 23 2015 21:56
being?
Yeah that would be great.
What about pushing the Heroku commits so we can do a lab for the bridge until the concept is integrated?
Ben West
@bewest
Mar 23 2015 21:58
that also paves way for bunch of interesting things: I want a signal on the webapp to go off when we plug/unplug the device
yeah, did you see the other branch?
for some reason the guy dropped his pr
Jim Sifferle
@jimsiff
Mar 23 2015 21:58
Really?
Ben West
@bewest
Mar 23 2015 22:01
bewest/share2nightscout-bridge#6
hmm, not sure what to do with it now
Jim Sifferle
@jimsiff
Mar 23 2015 22:08
Did you see my pr to the wip/add-heroku branch from a few days ago?
bewest/share2nightscout-bridge#5
Ben West
@bewest
Mar 23 2015 22:09
I saw it but just now realized the layering/ordering
now there's just 6
Jim Sifferle
@jimsiff
Mar 23 2015 22:09
ok
will pull and test.
I really think it's clean enough to push to master if the README is where you want it
Ben West
@bewest
Mar 23 2015 22:10
yeah, not sure the tutorials belong in readme
but not sure what to do about it
this is what it looks like now
if that looks good, we'll use it, if there should be wiki with two tutorials, I'm open to that feedback
leave a "looks good to me" and I'll merge it as-is
Jim Sifferle
@jimsiff
Mar 23 2015 22:14
If you are willing to push to master ... I will write up an easy to follow step by step lab for .info.
before E release
README can stay clean with basics for either Azure and Heroku, variables, requirements, etc.
Similar to how c-r-m is currently I guess?
Ben West
@bewest
Mar 23 2015 22:18
so that means the branch looks fine?
I haven't done the heroku thing
Jim Sifferle
@jimsiff
Mar 23 2015 22:19
The branch looks fine... I just redeployed a test bridge.
It works fine.

I use digital ocean mainly, and I don't have share2
Jim Sifferle
@jimsiff
Mar 23 2015 22:19
I'm just finally getting my blob up and running. I built an Ubuntu system with the intention of hosting my own...
just never got around to it until now
Ben West
@bewest
Mar 23 2015 22:19
ah, just use docker/dokku
that's what I do
ok, updated
Jim Sifferle
@jimsiff
Mar 23 2015 22:21
Ok cool... I'll look at that.
I'll tweak the bridge README if you'd like
Just found this dokku blog entry. Will check it out tonight... it's new to me.
might be good to migrate some suff into wiki out of readme/issue
for dokku, I did need to install a bower plugin
and also on the new thing, it's important to set SCM_COMMIT_ID as env var in addition to everything else
Jim Sifferle
@jimsiff
Mar 23 2015 22:29
Thanks for the dokku tips.
I agree re: moving the info to the Wiki.
Since I'm on the hook for a lab, do you want me to fill out the wiki and clean up the read me?
Ben West
@bewest
Mar 23 2015 22:30
that would be huge help
