Am currently working on modifying Nightwatch so it supports API secrets. Currently it only works with public Nightscout sites.
xDrip+ appears to have the same problem. Looking at the previous dicussion here--while there's a reasonable argument to be had about whether to encourage people to make their Nightscouts public, the status quo appears to be that parts of the ecosystem outright don't support authentication, and that's not okay.

@jimrandomh
Yesssss, finally got a Nightscout display on my watch.
Sulka Haro
@sulkaharo
@jimrandomh xDrip totally supports the API secret, where did you get the idea it doesn't?
dvdv
@dvdv_gitlab
Perhaps he confused them, because IIRC xDrip doesn't support tokens
Sulka Haro
@sulkaharo
Ah yes, the API SECRET and tokens is a bit different

URGENT - how do I do a curl query through the NightScout API to see changes to the basal rate set by Loop or by OpenAPS?
Eric
@ecc1
curl -g 'https://your-ns-site/api/v1/treatments.json | jq .
at least for openaps, not sure about Loop
Martin Haeberli
@mhaeberli
Thx
Martin Haeberli
@mhaeberli
And ... for bonus - where would SMBs show up? - @ecc1 - this got - some- results, but surprisingly un-recent ones, and thus I don’t think this was showing the Loop ones...
another way of looking at it - OpenAPS observes basal changes made by Loop, and they show in the NightScout interface, but are not being directly logged by Loop at the moment. It’s complicated...
dvdv
@dvdv_gitlab
@sulkaharo There will be a v3 API?
And if so, is there a v2 API?
Sulka Haro
@sulkaharo
@dvdv_gitlab Yup, check /api/v2/properties
dvdv
@dvdv_gitlab
@sulkaharo But no docs, right?
also, what's the big change between v1, v2, v3?
Sulka Haro
@sulkaharo
v2 is 100% different from v1; it's sort of badly named
v2 basically exposes the internal runtime state over REST
v3 is a redesigned version of v1 that fixes a lot of the semantics of v1 and is documented in the branch
dvdv
@dvdv_gitlab
in what branch?
Sulka Haro
@sulkaharo
dvdv
@dvdv_gitlab
so - it is in no branch of the main repo. currently, it only exists as a pull request.
also ... I've been running 0.11.1 here. 0.12 introduced date normalization. does this affect the dates stored in mongodb?
dvdv
@dvdv_gitlab
I mean, is the normalization done purely in the client, and does not affect at all how timestamps are stored?
I don't really want to trash my DB :)

@Dave2526
Hello, has anyone nightscout behind a apache reverse proxy and can send me the configuration? With proxypass and ProxyPassReverse it only show "loading the client"... Thank you!

Hi, is it possible to serve NS on raspberry pi 3? I tried installing node v12.13.0 npm 6.12.0 and then npm install with latest master on GitHub nightscout@0.12.5. I got following error:

npm ERR! code ELIFECYCLE
npm ERR! errno 134
npm ERR! nightscout@0.12.5 postinstall: webpack --mode production --config webpack.config.js && npm run-script update-buster
npm ERR! Exit status 134

Has anyone encountered this problem before?

has anyone else noticed that nightscout on chrome doesn't always update the bg # when its just left alone after a long time, even though it updates the graph?
this started happening a month or two ago i think, it didn't always work that way. and i have an old ns site as well as latest dev and it happens on both, so i suspect a chrome change.

@unsoluble
What kind of “long time” are we talking about here? I haven’t seen that, but I can test.
tynbendad
@tynbendad
dunno, i leave nightscout open in a tab all the time, while i'm using other tabs and while i'm afk. when i switch back to the tab it sometimes updates the graph but not the bg, sometimes it gets it right (and other times its completely dead ;). i'll try to pay closer attention to the time.
tynbendad
@tynbendad
just got one, took about 30 minutes
image.png
its not a matter of waiting a minute for it to fix itself either, its still wrong
now it got a new bg and updated properly
tynbendad
@tynbendad
btw, its been a lot worse than that, like showing 200ish when its really 100ish, scares me sometimes (or vice versa when its showing 100 with lots of iob but is really 200)

Hi everyone! Do you know who has the Dockerfile for the nightscout/cgm-remote-monitor-travis Docker image? https://hub.docker.com/r/nightscout/cgm-remote-monitor-travis/tags
I'd like to build an image for arm64 and test it
SANJEEV BA
@basanjeev
Hello
I am looking for some help on how to setup cgm monitor in my linux box. I did the mongo and node setup. The server seems to be up. I do not have a test device.
Also is there an API document for building wearable clients ?
There's a v2 of the rest API but I don't know where it's documented.
SANJEEV BA
@basanjeev
Thank you.
dvdv
@dvdv_gitlab
there's work being done on a new v3 API
I recommend you check that one out

From @sulkaharo :

v2 is 100% different from v1; it's sort of badly named
v2 basically exposes the internal runtime state over REST
v3 is a redesigned version of v1 that fixes a lot of the semantics of v1 and is documented in the branch
