So my school got a DDoS attack last night, probably due to it being the end of the semester, but who knows. Either way, it's super illegal and a federal crime, and I hope whoever was involved will be caught!
It could be going on again...

Either way, I am going to try to edit my writeup one more time and start working on the OpenAPS tools that @bewest has published, now that I feel (slightly) better.

So i changed my "purpose" of the paper I wrote so my intentions are clear...a full artificial pancreas system, built upon step by stem. If someone could read this it would be appreciated. Otherwise no other updates were made to my paper. It didn't take much work, but I just have been feeling crappy lately. I am going to (finally) email some tutors tonight. Anyway, please read this and tell me what you think:

I am going to upload it to Dropbox...I am sure it is fine. Update my Twitter account @wilddiabetic and email some tutors tonight...but I am under the influence of my medicine...

wow I can't even update files properly...that's what happens when you are under the influence of ("good") medication!
Actually I did do it "right" but not as how I intended...stupid meds and stupid me! :)

@bewest you around?
got your latest revs to openaps/openaps and still can't get it to do anything

:(
@scottleibrand @danamlewis I would be interested in another phone call and even a setup meeting. Like I know I can't call the stuff I am working on an #OpenAPS but I will have to use an OpenAPS at first, particularly for the "experiment" for generating the data needed for the "virtual patient"
I mean, I could recalculate the dosages manually and reset it as a temp basal every 15 minutes or so....but....I might as well contribute to your cause while doing something more complex...

do you have the gear you'd need?

I have 2 carelink USB sticks
2 522 pumps (1 new, 1 used)

(I need to get) Raspberry Pi plus enclosure (can buy in person)
at Microcenter
like I can get it tomorrow morning
in person

Like Raspberry Pi Model B right? then I need an enclosure plus a USB wifi dongle

I really prefer the rPi2
it's so much faster and easier to develop on

I also need an enclosure plus a wifi (preferrably a/b/g/n/ac dongle that is minimal)
Got it.

I don't know what "properly" is
that command runs, and there are lots of openaps-* commands, but none of them do anything useful
pi@raspberrypi3 ~ $ openaps-get
Traceback (most recent call last):
File "/usr/local/bin/openaps-get", line 8, in <module>
execfile(file)
File "/home/pi/openaps/bin/openaps-get", line 29, in <module>

File "/home/pi/openaps/openaps/cli/init.py", line 36, in call
self.prep_parser( )
File "/home/pi/openaps/openaps/cli/init.py", line 22, in prep_parser
epilog = textwrap.dedent(self._get_epilog( ))
File "/home/pi/openaps/openaps/cli/init.py", line 19, in _get_epilog
return "\n\n".join(klass.doc.split("\n\n")[1:])
AttributeError: 'NoneType' object has no attribute 'split'
it's probably environment or argument stuff that you assume, but I was never able to figure out the magic undocumented incantations. :)
the arguments to openaps itself are also quite cryptic:
-c C C
-C CONFIG, --config CONFIG

you get an A for effort, but you would have needed to be a mind-reader without some more docs
I'm thinking the wiki would be good

Will open APS communicate with the Dexcom Receiver via bluetooth?
Dana Lewis
@danamlewis
May 01 2015 16:54
for the offline openAPS version, we envisioned it pulling data into the pi. that way there's no additional phone required and you'd be able to run it offline.

I'm hoping to use openAPS components to locally collect pump and dexcom data, and import it into my decision support tool.
Dana Lewis
@danamlewis
May 01 2015 16:59
Ya, once you get decoding dexcom and decoding carelink (if you're using Medtronic pump), it'll be easy to port to whatever tool you want to use
That's workable on Raspberry Pi today, but @TC2013 & his programmer are working on android uploader option (hooray) that should be available in near-ish future, too.

As I understand it, openAPS will run as macOS shell scripts, so I can call a component from any other app, and have openAPS return the bit of data I need.

the main challenge to doing bluetooth to the Share receiver is that you can only pair one device with it at a time.

openaps now fetches glucose records in the correct order
not sure pump does actually
also, you can now fetch $x count glucose records
and it's fast because it only fetches as many as needed
