@kenstack @bustavo I see you guys have launched a few new Perceptus tools, congrats! I would love to see a GlucoDyn integration as an openaps report

@loudnate that's an interesting idea - @bustavo and I are sitting down with @bewest in a week for so to get caught up on openaps so we will discuss ! Any feedback on dash, which is a dashboard for ns data in mongo databases - is much appreciated - it's alpha so expect some bugs

I am working on an integration for simPancreas, really simple and very experimental now, I'll post about it once I have something working. You can use glucoDyn it's available on github.

@kenstack I don't have NS setup, so I would need to go digging for the schema. I would love to see a demo, though... I haven't been able to wrap my head around how the glucodyn demo (t0...tmax) on github would apply to "live" data (t minus 4 hours to t plus 4 hours?).

Imagine if you were about to eat - you plug your carbs, gi (absorption time for that meal) and insulin (along with user data - carb ratio, insulin sensitivity etx) - glucodyn then plots out the theoretical curve of bg vs time - it's basically the bolus wizard calc - then it plots your actual nightscout results live so you can compare - running high or low etx

@kenstack I'm working on an Android app that does some of that at the moment
kenstack
@kenstack
May 22 2015 17:09
Cool ! Glucodyn sw is available on github if it will help
Matthias Granberry
@mgranberry
May 22 2015 17:09
using historical food absorption information from previous times a person ate at that location
kenstack
@kenstack
May 22 2015 17:11
Cool - for glucodyn you need to input absorption time - it assumes a simple triangle type shape for absorption vs time - there should be a file called basicmath.pdf that shows the assumptions on github repo
Look forward to the app

yep. I stole/ported some code from glucodyn when I got started.
I need to figure out a reliable way to map changing DIAs from the data. It's pretty clear to me that mine speeds as I leave a site in past a day. It ends up confounding the carb absorption estimates a bit, although those are variable too.
I think any attempt to nail it all down beforehand is doomed to failure, though, because the entire glucose regulation system is pretty dynamic. The only thing that really seems to work is frequent small doses of insulin/basal tweaks to make everything come in line.
if anyone finds an article with good quantitative coverage of the contribution of fat/protein, I'm interested in hearing about it.

@loudnate
May 22 2015 17:19
@kenstack got it, thanks! I'm assuming that I'd have temp basals/boluses/carbs to account for in the N hours before t0, though,

May 22 2015 17:19
the accepted advice is clearly wrong on that bit of nutrition
Nathan Racklyeft
@loudnate
May 22 2015 17:20
N being max(insulin absorption time, carb absorption time)
kenstack
@kenstack
May 22 2015 17:43
@loudnate exactly - you'd have to put in enough of the past to make sure you had the right iob and cob
I do like using it for my son at breakfast and lunch at school - no iob or cob :)
@mgranberry yeah that is really hard - @bustavo and I are trying to keep the tools like glucodyn really simple - in this case it's really just a visual bolus wizard - though for educational purposes it's great - you can run scenarios etc like pre bolus amounts
We are looking for more folks to test dash - this is simply bg data display and stats from
your mongo db. It has live data and historical including a heat map that I have found to be really helpful

May 22 2015 18:05
where can I download dash to test?
kenstack
@kenstack
May 22 2015 18:12
Perceptus.org - just log in and click on dash to try it - you need to enter your mongo key and path
And thanks !!

cool. I'm hoping to get to that this weekend. is there a place on perceptus.org to give you feedback?

@kenstack I'm trying to get Dash set up with my NS data from mongodb, but the screen is simply flashing the heart logo and "Dash is loading your data, please wait" (a few minutes at this point). Could it be I entered the wrong path? Is there a way to reset it?
Nathan Racklyeft
@loudnate
May 22 2015 18:39
@kenstack is Dash doing predictions with that data, as well? (looks like I can get my demo from @channemann!)
kenstack
@kenstack
May 22 2015 18:39
yes it's likely the path that's wrong. We don't do good error checking yet - you can reset the path on the user data screen
@loudnate dash is just dash boarding - current bg and stats
Chris Hannemann
@channemann
May 22 2015 18:43
unfortunately, I can't get away from the data loading screen, even if I log out and log back in
kenstack
@kenstack
May 22 2015 18:44
Ahh :) good feedback already :) just kill the window and restart
We are working on making the parameter inputs easier
@channemann I'm walking into a meeting I'll pm you more details on the path when I'm out !

@bewest Hi, i tried today the Contour Next on Edison. I looks alike the Stick is working like on Ubuntu Laptop. But i was detectet as HID device. No Serial TTY.

@channemann I just updated the placeholder for the input field for the mongo url, it shows an example of the format of the url is needs: https://api.mongolab.com/api/1/databases/your_database_name/collections/your_collection_name
kenstack

:)
I updated again, now you can see the data input button, so if you entered the wrong URL the first time, now you can change it
It also gives you about 5 seconds before it reloads again

@mgranberry
May 22 2015 21:09
@bustavo any love for those of us who are hosting their own mongo and don't use mongolab?
Gustavo
@bustavo
May 22 2015 21:10
if you have the URL with the collection I think it can work, not sure, please test and tell me!
If it does not work, we would need to have access to a test mongo url to see if we can make the system differentiate between each and fetch the data
Matthias Granberry
@mgranberry

I'll try and figure it out

Thanks for those updates, @bustavo
I definitely had the API URL wrong
however, when I changed it to match the example, I’m getting the same issue with data loading
Gustavo

May 22 2015 21:19
are charts incomplete?

charts?

what is loading?
or does nothing load?
Chris Hannemann
@channemann
May 22 2015 22:07
It was just showing the heart pumping again
but just now it switched and is instead showing a blank chart

May 22 2015 22:11
I think you are entering an incomplete url
click on the "user data" button
empty the URL input
and look at the placeholder
is shows the correct url format
(reload the page before doing that, just did some updates )
kenstack
@kenstack
May 22 2015 22:12
Also double check the API key has no extra spaces etc at the edges
is that the correct form?
checked the API key as well
kenstack
@kenstack
May 22 2015 22:16
Yes that is the right form - that's weird other people have it running and I have it running right now
Could here be a line feed at the end ?

@channemann

Going to work on the image tonight for the visually impaired individuals. I know they are depending on me so it's very important I get this done. Writing the Ubuntu image to my micro SD card right now, then I am going to install SSH, drivers, internet....

@bewest what is the PyPi command for installing OpenAPS? Also what is the command(s) for installing the Bayer Contour Next Link meter on behalf of the visually impaired users?
I am asking on behalf of somebody.
