Celiac antibodies came back positive from a blood sample. However it could be a false positive given that I receive antibodies from over 1000 donors, but I doubt it given my GI problems, iron deficiency anemia, and joint pain. Supposed to contact my GI doctor. "Happy birthday"! (Yes it is my birthday)

@TC2013 ordered 3 :-)
trying to figure out if I can get rpi going before I testify on fri
would be awesome to be able to walk in and testify and answer by pointing to my DIY AP
Toby Canning
@TC2013
May 27 2015 19:37
Yes, that would be very cool

thinking about tracking the times where I would remote bolus if I could
Ben West
@bewest
May 27 2015 19:56
yeah
retrospective basal/bolus/auto prediction
"would interfere here" but applied retrospective
same as predictor?
Jason Calabrese
@jasoncalabrese
May 27 2015 19:58
I was thinking less automated, when watching the chart and seeing that it's time to do something, but not urgent enough to call the school, just flag it
then after the fact look for those and see what happened in the next hour or 2, could show what we think would have happened with the treatment if it would have been done
Ben West
@bewest
May 27 2015 20:06
yeah, I like the idea of contrasting expectations with what happened
lots of ways to do it, look forward to experiments
sounds like you are describing a way to capture expectations
which is really good idea I think

Yup, I remembered thinking then that you'd figured out how to "remote bolus" for reals :)
Jason Calabrese

turns out that people don't like being told to push buttons

Don't I know it!
Jason Calabrese
@jasoncalabrese
May 27 2015 20:26
we do know how, but it's not practical enough till we get better range
need to replace the carelink stick
Toby Canning
@TC2013
May 27 2015 20:28
I'm way a head of you. We had a storm last night and I have sticks all over my lawn, some maybe 3 or 4 feet long. I'm sure they can operate the pump good. Triple the range of the carelink stick.
Sulka Haro
@sulkaharo
May 27 2015 20:31
Good for beating people until they're willing to push the buttons?
Toby Canning
@TC2013
May 27 2015 20:32
Yes! @sulkaharo Now you're speaking my language.
Jason Calabrese
@jasoncalabrese
May 27 2015 20:32
what are you using for triple the range
Ben West
@bewest
May 27 2015 20:32
lol
Jason Calabrese
@jasoncalabrese
May 27 2015 20:33
thats ~10ft?
Sulka Haro
@sulkaharo
May 27 2015 20:33
A pole would do.
Toby Canning
@TC2013
May 27 2015 20:37
@jasoncalabrese Here is a "branch" that might get you closer to your goal.
Geoff should be finishing up the basic functionality of decocare on that repo this week.

Please please please please check if listening to the Enlite is doable.

@ps2 said it is
I can see about adding it
Jason Calabrese
@jasoncalabrese
May 27 2015 20:40
might want to take that apk out
Sulka Haro
@sulkaharo
May 27 2015 20:41
Awesome. @TC2013 are you considering using hardware other than the CareLink stick? As people are pointing out, the antenna range is pretty limiting in real world use.
Jason Calabrese
@jasoncalabrese
May 27 2015 20:41
wow a lot there, building now
Toby Canning
@TC2013
May 27 2015 20:42
Yes, the plan is to switch to the cc11xx
Sulka Haro
@sulkaharo
May 27 2015 20:42
:thumbsup:
Jason Calabrese
@jasoncalabrese
May 27 2015 20:42
what the range with that?
think at ~30ft it becomes very practical
Toby Canning
@TC2013
May 27 2015 20:43
So Stephen has the first prototype of the cc11xx/ble combo ready, but needs time to test it
That is what we will use
If it doesn't work, I will make a custom back to a phone and hardwire the cc11xx to the usb and have our kiddo wear the phone next to his pump
We will just use two phones so one can charge when the other is in use

May 27 2015 20:54
Yeah
Ben West
@bewest
May 27 2015 20:54
what's trade off between rileylink and stephen's pcb?
Emma Black
@StephenBlackWasAlreadyTaken
May 27 2015 20:54
I actually am playing with that currently

May 27 2015 20:54
yeah, just needs to be filled out little more, kevin did ton of work
geoff wyche also has a pending verison
that just does the carelink, nothing else
Jason Calabrese
@jasoncalabrese
May 27 2015 20:55
this is geoff's
Emma Black
@StephenBlackWasAlreadyTaken

reilylink is pretty great, Im just switching it to use uart on prefab boards

May 27 2015 20:55
should we use oshpark or something?
or, rather, what can I do to make the world such a place where I can order one from some service?
Jason Calabrese
@jasoncalabrese
May 27 2015 20:56
is the code for reilylink available?
Ben West
@bewest
May 27 2015 20:56

@TC2013
May 27 2015 20:56
Yes
Ben West
@bewest
May 27 2015 20:56
was thinking of seeing how much they cost to just make a thing
Ben West
@bewest
May 27 2015 20:56
the hardware + software are all there
just need an assembler/fabricator to put it all together
I'd like to migrate it to a sparkfun intel edison block though
it's about the same size
Emma Black
@StephenBlackWasAlreadyTaken
May 27 2015 20:58
I like going with easy already out there options, so just a cc1111 and an hm11 or an rfbee and hm11 or whatever
rfbee is super cheap, tons of breakouts
probably even has an eddison breakout
Toby Canning
@TC2013
May 27 2015 20:58
I think Ben is saying that the edison would run it, not android
Ben West
@bewest
May 27 2015 20:58
but I want a nice small gadget that is water proof
;-)
Emma Black
@StephenBlackWasAlreadyTaken
May 27 2015 21:00
I mean, I like the rfbee because its like $10 and is xbee form factor so it can connect to just about anything
tons of breakouts available for them
Ben West
@bewest
May 27 2015 21:00
yeah, true
Emma Black
@StephenBlackWasAlreadyTaken
May 27 2015 21:01
but yeah, I have two current builds, one using reilylink for the base, the other using mmcommander/some random google code project for the base
Ben West
@bewest
May 27 2015 21:01
there's a random google code project I've overlooked?
Emma Black
@StephenBlackWasAlreadyTaken
May 27 2015 21:01
rielylink is where most of my current focus is, because its already sdcc and its just nice, no frills
Ben West
@bewest
May 27 2015 21:01
ah
Emma Black
@StephenBlackWasAlreadyTaken
May 27 2015 21:02
its not pump related or anything like that, just an sdcc library for the cc1111
Ben West
@bewest
May 27 2015 21:02
ah, cc1111?
sorry, there's a fork of sdcc called cc1111
Emma Black
@StephenBlackWasAlreadyTaken
May 27 2015 21:02
oh? Thats interesting
Ben West
@bewest
May 27 2015 21:03
seen rfcat?
yeah, cc1111 is fork of sdcc that was designed, IIRC to provide correct fpic option!?
errr I forget, sorry
Emma Black
@StephenBlackWasAlreadyTaken
May 27 2015 21:04
I havnt looked into it but I have heard of it
I dont know much about rf unfortunately
Ben West
@bewest
May 27 2015 21:05
something about sin waves
Sulka Haro
@sulkaharo
May 27 2015 21:06
AFAIK TI claims the CC1111 series supports up to hundreds of feet with the right antenna, so the range is largely a question of the particular implementation. The CC Debug stick seems to have large variance in the antenna quality, so it's not particularly good choice for production hardware. (plus it's expensive)
Ben West
@bewest
May 27 2015 21:06
yeah
the emk?
for some reason the ezchronos watch kit costs less and includes a compatible part
and then the radio is in a watch....
the battery is really good too, I don't know how to charge it and it's still alive
Emma Black
@StephenBlackWasAlreadyTaken
May 27 2015 21:07
hahaha
Ben West
@bewest
May 27 2015 21:08
would be so cool to use watch as pump interface
Emma Black
@StephenBlackWasAlreadyTaken
May 27 2015 21:09
I might be a little terrified as Noah (my 11 month old) enjoys playing with my watch and changing all sorts of settings without me knowing
Sulka Haro
@sulkaharo
May 27 2015 21:09
@TC2013 have you tried the Valarm split charger cables? We're using one with a Samsung S3 and it's super convenient. No worry about battery running out during the night.
Ben West
@bewest
May 27 2015 21:10
right, so now we're into strong authentication control
it's disturbing... vint cerf was on radio last night dismayed that no one is doing proper strong authenticaton
Sulka Haro
@sulkaharo
May 27 2015 21:10
Makes me feel like the fingerprint authenticators that are appearing on the phones are actually pretty cool
Ben West
@bewest
May 27 2015 21:10
his use case was his wine cellar, but he's talking about this kind of situation
Sulka Haro
@sulkaharo
May 27 2015 21:12
The best use cases for the fingerprint scanner on iOS is the app purchasing and 1Password, which allows password prefilling after fingerprint authentication. Would totally work here.
I recall Apple Watch knows when you've removed it from your wrist and can lock up, which also sounds like something that'd help here
Toby Canning
@TC2013
May 27 2015 21:21
@sulkaharo I remember you showing us that cable. Very cool!
Ben West
@bewest
May 27 2015 21:22
valarm is cool
Pete Schwamb
@ps2
May 27 2015 22:10
@StephenBlackWasAlreadyTaken what kind of things are you working on with the rileylink? Just curious if I can help, or if it's something I'm already working on
