The autonomic neuropathy was blamed on t1d autonomic neuropathy for 4 years. Then my endo got desperate and had me tested for a very rare disease and I came back positive with the antibodies. . In summer 2011 I was examined by a neuro who was world renowned in neuropathies and he said that my pupillary reflex was abnormal (sluggish and re dilated too early) which is a unique feature of my disease. But he missed the diagnosis and blamed it on t1d which is devastating.
