could you put somewhere config sw for Insight? would like to analyze it a bit :)
Holger Sanft

@LorelaiL please talk with @oschumac he is the right for the Insight. He tests the pump one week.

@holgi13 @efbest @oschumac RE Accu-Check, the current PC SW only talks to the pump via IR when the pump is in a special mode, so no good for our needs. But, I have spoken to teams working on Artificial Pancreas trials with the Roche pumps. Roche provided special SW that will connect from PC to pump via BT. The students on this trial found the dll files for this and reversed engineered them.
the dll files are what we need, if anyone would like to ask :)

hehehe
appealing to students stomachs is as close as you can get
sounds like you might have developed some advocates though
may be time to upgrade contact, get them to introduce formally maybe
Ed Raskin
@msrcgm
Oct 16 2015 07:38
I'll upgrade my request to @scottleibrand or anyone. Ready to go!
timomer
@timomer
Oct 16 2015 07:39
sure, I am going to meet them again soon, they are currently reviewing the xDrip code to get raw BG and I have apparently inspired them to perform some more hacking
ill be giving a talk in London soon about the community and work that has been done, hopefully will get some useful contacts from that
Oliver Schumacher
@oschumac
Oct 16 2015 07:40
but maybe it helps to get little bit more details. Something like pump software. The dll they are talking about is just a libary or a advanced bt stack. As of now nobody is able to connect a roche pump via bt.
timomer
@timomer
Oct 16 2015 07:40
Also made a Roche contact the other week, who wants to introduce me to a few people, but not sure thats going to go far
They where very light on details
i think they where uncomfortable to even say they reversed engineered the dll files
but, i will dig
I have someone sending me over a old Roche pump and meter soon - I hope to share that with a few hackers in London
@oschumac have you seen HAPP? https://github.com/timomer/HAPP
we have not spoken for awhile :)
Dana Lewis
@danamlewis
Oct 16 2015 07:45
@timomer Per your email, roundtrip is not a full port based in the openAPS reference design. So I think a couple of us need to dig deeper between your work and Toby's to see what we can do for a closed loop version :) based on determine-basal, since you've got that in android already!
@msrcgm What request are you escalating?
Oliver Schumacher
@oschumac
Oct 16 2015 07:47
@timomer yes a have forked and conplilled the code but i dont have android 5 or above to run the app. In the sim it crashed. :worried:

Oct 16 2015 07:53
Hm, breaking out the old Moto Gs and they're 4.4
@oschumac Computer based sim or android sim? Wondering if this would be a nice intermediate step for people to test output of determine-basal on the go..
Although here's a note from @oskarpearson About challenges of Carelink for reading Medtronic data on android (https://gist.github.com/danamlewis/54a6ec7db1acac2da625 ). So this will be good to see what devices/versions roundtrip has been tested on to see how to work around that.

Just install android studio. There you can Programm and complie android apps. There is a android Simulator included. With every version.

Oct 16 2015 12:33
@danamlewis You wrote, "Per your email, roundtrip is not a full port based in the openAPS reference design." This is not quite accurate. At the time roundtrip was created, it followed the reference design specifications. As openAPS continued to expand, I didn't have a need to pay Geoff to continue to make changes because it worked extremely well already. I think the only deviation from the original reference is the app can set different DIAs for positive/negative temps.
timomer
@timomer
Oct 16 2015 12:34
@danamlewis @TC2013 that was my understanding. There is a lot of code in roundtrip I did not need / understand hence why I built my own. Happy to talk more about this.
Toby Canning
@TC2013
Oct 16 2015 12:34
To add the ability to run from the determine-basal.js would cost between $300-400
@timomer I have no complaints with you creating your own app!
I think it is great :)
timomer
@timomer
Oct 16 2015 12:35
@jamorham @oschumac thanks! I was lazy and targeted Android 5 for all features, if you download to Android Studio and change the target version it may work
@TC2013 yeah sure :D I mean talk more about getting everyone up to speed on what both apps offer
Toby Canning
@TC2013
Oct 16 2015 12:36
I went through your code last week, your UI is much stronger!
timomer
@timomer
Oct 16 2015 12:36
thanks, really struggled with that design
to get the right info in there, as its main aim for now to be such a visual system
getting more of it added to Android Wear, so I can fully review and manage from my watch ;)
Toby Canning
@TC2013
Oct 16 2015 12:38

Oct 16 2015 15:32
@timomer No change of target won't work. I understood you are using an s3. Which fw do you have installed. I am not aware that android 5 is available on s3.

Okay i just solved it. It is an initialisation prob. ui refers to an item which did dit exist on First run. Later this evening i send an update to git.

@danamlewis
Oct 16 2015 16:35
@TC2013 For sure, I was referring to the fact that you didn't need to evolve it since it was working way back when (before we made as much progress with all of the tools), although it's not using determine-basal because that didn't exist, so that is the main difference I think? Like I said, would love for us to dig in to that and @timomer's work, and see what we can do to bridge the two and leverage ya'lls great work.
Dana Lewis
@danamlewis

@oschumac Thanks for the info on android studio. Haven't touched it since the early days of the Nightscout uploader :) so will have to break that back out.

I highly recommend looking at Xamarin so we can work on cross platform solution supporting iOS, Android and Windows and not limit ourself to one platform
timomer
@timomer
Oct 16 2015 18:08
@amazaheri agree, this is all new to me so made sense to understand one platform
also, xdrip only works on Android I believe, no one has been able to produce a IOS build yet

Oct 16 2015 18:13
@oschumac do send details of the crash, I am guessing it maybe due to a Fragment not being loaded, do be sure you have the most recent pull from github

shared unit testing etc

Oct 16 2015 18:16
@amazaheri Heh. Well, I know @TC2013 got it working on android, so want to look there in the meantime because @bewest already did support work there :) and now @timomer has done the great work to get determine-basal on Android now!
Ali Mazaheri
@amazaheri
Oct 16 2015 18:16
and our goal is to integrate with BLE RileyLink
to avoid CareLink once and for all
Dana Lewis
@danamlewis
Oct 16 2015 18:16
or that :)
Ali Mazaheri
@amazaheri
Oct 16 2015 18:16
I dont think we should put effort on CareLink
BLE is much needed
timomer
@timomer
Oct 16 2015 18:17
@LadyViktoria are you able to get any debug info via Android Studio?
Matthias Granberry
@mgranberry
Oct 16 2015 18:18
I thought the carelink dongles were thinish wrappers around the wire protocol? Or are you wanting to push knowledge of various pumps etc out to RileyLink?
Dana Lewis
@danamlewis
Oct 16 2015 18:18
rileylink will be great, but limited availability and less of an off-the-shelf utilization than Carelink, so balance between continuing to bleed on the edge and find more ways to do things, but also see what we can do to make sure more people can continue to get on and use AP stuff in the meantime.
Ali Mazaheri
@amazaheri
Oct 16 2015 18:19

Oct 16 2015 19:00
is it as mint as it looked?
Ben West
@bewest
Oct 16 2015 19:00
yeah, they both look mint, I can barely tell they were used at all
I put on the blue one
quickly set the basals...
but forgot about everything else for full day
alarms, bolus wizard....
amanda from medtronic emailed me
apologizing for delay, said she's been working to get all the right people together to answer/discuss
questions I asked require people from lot of different departments ;-)
which, itself, should be a hint of sorts...
this time around feels different... doesn't feel like delay/avoidance thing like before
