@jasoncalabrese Iā€™m referring to a calibration after the initial where e.g. the stick is 200 and the dex is showing 150, and it only jumps to 180 after the calibration is entered.

@ktomy If I feel like my CGM is way wrong based on physical symptoms, I will do a fingerstick. If fingerstick value is 15-20 or more different from cgm, I will enter it as a calibration. Always do a calibration when waking up and at bedtime, so average 2 and occasionally a 3rd for a day

as I remember there is no documentation for meal assist, right? Is there a way of setting carbs absorption ratio differently by hours?
Dana Lewis
@danamlewis
Jan 23 2016 00:29
Not in the docs yet, but @scottleibrand Has a gist explaining the methodology he can post here
Jason Calabrese
@jasoncalabrese

meal assist does not use carb absorption rates
Dana Lewis
@danamlewis
Jan 23 2016 00:31
None of openAPS does, actually
Makes decisions purely on bolus, which is why bolussnooze exists, will deal with either correction and/or meal bolus

acrually my problem is that when my son eats before going to bed, bg raises slowly but surely and if I decrease carb_ratios he will go low and then high back

Are you using dev with meal assist, and triggering meal assist by entering carbs on the pump?
Alin Artiom Kenibasov
@ktomy
Jan 23 2016 00:39
I use dev branch but I didn' "activated" meal aassist, I don't have meal.json
will try to enable it

@scottleibrand, btw new code there looks good, and good comments
Dana Lewis
@danamlewis
Jan 23 2016 00:40
Yea. Requires carb knowledge by having input it to the pump. Otherwise it won't trigger the meal assist portion

yes, we enter carbs in bolus wizard, so i'll try to enable it, if i'll have problems - i'll ask more questions :) thank you

I received my new pumps today and I'm back on the loop as of 5 min ago. This is night two. I've made some adjustments to my max basal and have modified my I:C ratio, based on some Nightscout analysis I've done.

I need to get OpenAPS talking to Nightscout. I was planning on doing that earlier but ended up shoveling and playing in the snow a bit with my kids. I was feeling tired and going to bail in getting the loop back up, but now I'm feeling a bit more energized and ready to get It talking to Nightscout. Yeah for a functioning adrenal gland. :-D
Yay, rather.

Also had a record day, for a sick day - despite fever, 117 average and 91% time in range (80-160). No lows. Never would have managed it without openAPS.

wow
been sick last few weeks, combined with tons of 9mm set failures as well as sensor going bad
it's been awful
finally got new sensor installed; have likely been high basically most of tie

weird new issue. fetching SGV from Nightscout is failing; the script tries to re-run the command many, many times before giving up. Used to work without a hitch. Loading the json manually works without issues. Anyone seen this behaviour?

quick question: what is your system to tell the SD cards apart without plugging them in? I have 4 and things are getting a little unorganized with those tiny critters.

Hey all. I'm looking into bug loudnate/openaps-glucosetools#3 - currently there are some hacks to get around the message "Could not determine last BG time" using json parsing, but I'm hoping to fix it upstream
Would anyone mind confirming that the dexcom keys are as in that ticket?
ie - instead of svg you have "glucose"
Could you also confirm the time format is a-ok like this: "2015-07-06T18:07:00"
I know there was some work done late last year around timezones - so am not sure if it needs to include a timezone, and how you would like to handle that

@danamlewis I saw your interview with tudiabetes and texted a friend to implement the "intend to eat soon" manual procedure. Fairly genious. And no doubt a good result from visualization. I think I can start a log file but nightscout not so much. Its the making a commitment to do G4 when I have G5, old G4, apple and pebble. And someone got G5 working and maybe I could even learn push pull git and code modification and recompile more easily than setting up nightscout.

@Aaybob thanks! not sure how it came across verbalized in the interview, but here's the writeup explaining it too in case it's helpful: http://diyps.org/2015/03/26/how-to-do-eating-soon-mode-diyps-lessons-learned/
and sure, whichever you prefer, but definitely something is better than nothing :)
