I have openaps alias add latest-ns-treatment-time '! bash -c "nightscout latest-openaps-treatment $NIGHTSCOUT_HOST | json created_at"' || die "Can't add latest-ns-treatment-time” as noted there, but when I run latest-ns-treatment-time it says yesterday at noon, and I’ve been looping all night and all day.
so nightscout latest-openaps-treatment $NIGHTSCOUT_HOST is the part of that I’m looking for more docs on

@scottleibrand and I could see that auto-sens was increasing the basal target :+1: so I think the AMA branch is working now. The only thing I want to change tomorrow it the carbs being pulled out of the pumphistory instead from nightscout

I wonder…I wonder if you don’t have the 288 continuous cgm readings, if it just shuts that feature off. I had a 3-4 hour cgm gap (site restart) and I wonder if it just turned back on as soon as recovering from that.
a relief, if that’s the case. But also, good to know so I don’t spend another day trying to figure it out!

@Spazholio @scottleibrand @danamlewis, I use oref0-raw in times where I have to restart a sensor and didn't get an other going in time, or in times of ???, the trend is a little jumpy on raw, but by mistake I ran a whole day on raw before and it was mostly ok when the rig stayed in range. I'm getting the raw data and cals from xdrip via Nightscout

Is there a command you can share to pull raw data directly from the Dexcom unit? That could be interesting.

the openaps dexcom reader can pull most of it, but it's not getting the Cal record with the slope and intercept
Paul Martin
@Spazholio
May 20 2016 01:00
So - and I’m just clarifying - is there no way currently to pull usable raw/non-calibrated glucose data directly from the Dexcom receiver in a way that can be uploaded to NS? I don’t even NEED it, I’m just a bit of a completionist and like playing with new stuff. =)
Jason Calabrese
@jasoncalabrese
May 20 2016 01:01
there are commands to get it, it's working with the android uploaders, but the openaps dexcom reader isn't getting the Cals
you can get the filtered/unfiltered raw data, but you then need the Cal to convert it
Paul Martin
@Spazholio
May 20 2016 01:04
Sorry, what does “Cal” mean here?
Jason Calabrese
@jasoncalabrese
May 20 2016 01:07
it's a calibration entry, but not the BG value you enter
we pull that from the dexcom and then use it along with the filtered and unfiltered raw data to create a value when dexcom doesn't give us a normal egv
Paul Martin
@Spazholio
May 20 2016 01:15
Interesting.

there's info on how you can use raw with NS here http://www.nightscout.info/wiki/labs/interpreting-raw-dexcom-data

@bewest could I ask for some help to troubleshoot my Nightscout integration?

I can run get elements of treatment and OPenAPS up and refreshsed, all reports seem to run without issue.

The problem is that blood glucose (coming from Dexcom connected to Pi) never get's updated on Nightscout.

Blood glucose does get reported on Pi properly, goes into loop properly.

My theory is that the timezone funtions are not working properly. Though pumphistory_zoned and clock_zoned seem to work.

Totally stuck and read as much as I can. Could you help me troubleshoot it?

@jasoncalabrese any thoughts on the discussion Scott and I had on POST web requests made to NS? With API_SECRET in place on my NS azure site, I was able to use IFTTT maker to write to my treatments.json. BTW - if you have not seen it, today the Medtronic 640g team announced they had made a standalone app to get 640g data directly to Nightscout without the need for a computer / Carelink automation.

Installed through a Android app and blood sugar meter connected to phone. I tested, took about 5 minutes to setup and works great.

I definitely intend to add OpenAPS support direct to the app, but that's a little way down the road a bit. First step is to get lots of folks settled on the current integration.

@ELUTE does that mean creating openaps in the first place (so it could be integrated against) is worth more than 11k?
@ELUTE I could have used that money to make openaps in the first place and pay rent, etc... I could use it still in expanding openaps coverage to more and more devices... something I have a track record for doing
as is, offering the bounty up for any one, without any track record for helping out community.... well, it sends a message, for sure.

Thanks @ddaniels1 I’m sure I’ll be asking questions here. I wish there was a way to search better on Gitter to look through past conversations. Gitter reminds me a lot of Slack, but Slack kills it with search
Dana Lewis
@danamlewis
May 20 2016 17:21
@loudestnoise there is a way, but it’s a whole lots easier in web version of gitter
I use desktop app or phone app usually, but pull it up in a browser to search., and recommend that. (but in general yes I also like slack ;) but gitter is great because it’s publicly accessible to all)

@bewest how low were you running? were you actually that low, or are you using a dodgy sensor? our oldest oref0 issue is actually to address that: openaps/oref0#56: you want to write something up along those lines?

@ddaniels1 speaking of search…try searching, I think this was troubleshooted for someone else recently but I can’t remember if the solution was as simple as npm or something more involved

Just got ubilinux installed on edison, pulled my openaps directory into it via git, went to install oref0 via the install script: curl -s https://raw.githubusercontent.com/openaps/docs/master/scripts/quick-packages.sh | bash -

ah, yes. node vs. nodejs is lots of fun.
easiest shotgun approach is probably to apt-get remove all the node / nodejs packages and re-run the script to install the ones we use

I'd start with dpkg -l | grep node to see what you have installed
then apt-get remove <package> for each of them

OK was able to remove all nodejs with sudo apt-get purge node nodejs
after doing that and running dpkg -l | grep node all node is removed. Then run the install script again and get the same error: ```

May 20 2016 19:44

Back to it

I tried to get going in the New Year and got quite along way and then managed to corrupt my directory ... so here I am again, determined to succeed this time .....

I usually use a xdrip with a G4. In the New Year I bought a receiver to specifically use with OpenAps. However when it arrived it's in mgdl and not mmol. Does anyone have any insight on whether I will be able to use this and somehow convert to mmol? Or is it a no go and should I try and source one that is configured to mmol?

Many thanks

Next question ...Set up Git

Run

sudo apt-get install git

In order to set your git account’s default identity, you will need to run the following two commands:

git config --global user.email "you@example.com"

git config --global user.name "Your Name"

replace you@example.com and Your Name with your own information, but keep the quotes.
Just on this section, I have my git username from when I set up nightscout, but which email address am I entering in here, one of my choice or my mongo one?

Quick question for you APSers.... do any of you have v. young kids on it or a kid who is still honeymooning? I was wondering how well openaps works with very low basal rates. (e.g., my daughter's basal is .1 u / hour) Do any of y'all foresee any difficulties there?

Plugging away at setting up openaps... when I try to open(cat) settings/profile.json I get the response "BG Target data is expected to be expressed in mg/dL. Found mmol/L in settings/bg_targets_raw.json " ... My pump settings (canadian) are in mmol so is bg_targets_raw.json not supposed to be in mmol then converted via "units" ?
ddaniels1
@ddaniels1
May 20 2016 22:57
My daughter is 1. Her basal is 0.2-0.4, but we use diluted insulin U-25 which is probably better at those low rates in terms of accuracy

openaps use units bg_targets raw-pump/bg-targets-raw.json or similar would be the "use", and once the filename is right for you, you can save that as a report
if you've already done that, you'll want to double check the inputs for the next step to make sure you're using the converted one instead of the raw one when making the calculations

All: if anyone has some cycles, here's a pretty straightforward pay-it-forward opportunity.
