I am having a time issue that I am trying to work out. on the missing-entries,json when trying openaps do-everything I get an error kicked that says: TypeError: can't compare offset-naive and offset-aware datetimes
No JSON object could be decoded
Is this that the times from cat clock.json and clock-zoned are not the same or something else entirely?

@mwilliams careful that zipper doesn't short anything out. Nice though! Are you in NYC area...if so, would be cool to meet maybe.

Anyone have a minute to help me fix my edison network config?
I'm connected via wifi (via wpa_supplicant), but something basic is misconfigured.

:point_up: I can't ping IP addresses or dns names. Looks like wlan0 is IPv6 only, but I'm not sure if that is significant.

You don't have an IP address for wlan0, so that means you're not connected.
Try wpa_cli scan and see what happens.
Brandon Faloona
@bfaloona
Sep 09 2016 02:54
edison@openaps-lp-edison:~$ sudo wpa_cli scan
Selected interface 'wlan0'
OK
Eric Jensen
@elnjensen
Sep 09 2016 02:55
Now what does ifconfig show?
Brandon Faloona
@bfaloona
Sep 09 2016 02:55
still no IP address from wlan0
Eric Jensen
@elnjensen
Sep 09 2016 02:55
Hmm.
Try just wpa_cli to get into the command-line interface there.
Then type scan
See if you can see it trying to associate with your network's name.

@elnjensen @Spazholio Thanks for the help. I solved it for now.

This page led me back to where @Spazholio left off: http://substack.net/wireless_from_the_command_line_in_linux

$ sudo dhclient -r wlan0
$ sudo dhclient wlan0
That got me a regular IP address again and I think I'm set.

Forgive the language, but some of us might find this funny (and perhaps useful) https://twitter.com/ksylor/status/774053678575607808 as we spend more time with git and the command line.

@garykidd I'm in New Paltz, about 70mi north of the city. I don't make it into the city often, but if there was an OpenAPS meetup or something, I'd definitely hop on the metro north and make it happen!

Hey everyone I'm new to the project and hope im in the right place. I just set up my nightscout and im not sure that everything is correct because in my current step in the documentation nightscout gui looks different than mine...as seen in my screen shot
Screen Shot 2016-09-09 at 7.03.37 PM.png
I'm currently on Visualization and Monitoring step
Did i make a mistake?

@Spazholio so, was hoping you might be able to help me with another question.....was trying to figure out why my NS site seems to update the openaps pill as well as the pump pill for awhile after I leave range of cgm.....for like an hour or two...but then it conks out...however, if I stay in range of cgm, it'll update indefinitely....what's strange to me is that it doesn't immediately stop reporting each of the pills ...but over time they'll drop out....whyis that?

Do you have the Dexcom Share Bridge plugin installed?
@MichaelGuarin0 What are you not seeing that you’re expecting to see?
Michael

Sep 09 2016 23:20
I'm not sure
How can I check
This is what the documentation shows the nightscout should look
Screen Shot 2016-09-09 at 7.20.08 PM.png
openAPS is in all blue and it looks fully operational
on mine just below the time the openAPS status has an exclamation mark !
and displays 'unknown'
which makes me think that it isn't working

@Spazholio are you talking about on Connection Strings on azure for example
?
Paul Martin
@Spazholio
Sep 09 2016 23:25
@garykidd Possibly. I don’t use Azure. Check this out: http://www.nightscout.info/wiki/welcome/nightscout-with-ios-and-dexcom-share

@Spazholio yeahh...that part I did.
Paul Martin
@Spazholio
Sep 09 2016 23:29
Ok, so that means that whenever your receiver is within range of your transmitter, it’s automatically uploading to Dexcom (as intended) and periodically, the NS Bridge will pull that info down from the Dexcom servers. No clue why it’s continuing for hours. That’s kinda sorta not technologically feasible, if you’re truly out of range. I think.
garykidd
@garykidd
Sep 09 2016 23:42
SO when I say out of range I'm referring to out of range from the carelink/RP3.....but not out of range of my iphone for g5 setup.
arrrggghhh....when following those insructions my terminal hung when sudo apt-get install libusb-1.0-0-dev libboost-all-dev
had closed it and tried againbut now I get ...
Paul Martin
@Spazholio
Sep 09 2016 23:46
@MichaelGuarin0 It sounds like you don’t quite have OpenAPS sending data to NS yet. Either that, or it’s set up properly, but it hasn’t sent data in quite some time.

@garykidd
Sep 09 2016 23:46
pi@raspberrypi:~ $     sudo apt-get install libusb-1.0-0-dev libboost-all-dev
E: Could not get lock /var/lib/dpkg/lock - open (11: Resource temporarily unavailable)
E: Unable to lock the administration directory (/var/lib/dpkg/), is another process using it?
Paul Martin
@Spazholio
Sep 09 2016 23:47
Quickest way to fix that is to reboot the Pi. =)
Or find the process that’s locking apt-get and kill it. I can show you how to do that if you want.
garykidd
@garykidd
Sep 09 2016 23:47
sudo reboot
?
or maybe let's try to find process that's causing issue and kill it.
actually
.
ahhh..reboot is probably easiest
pi@raspberrypi:~ $ sudo apt-get install libusb-1.0-0-dev libboost-all-dev
E: dpkg was interrupted, you must manually run 'sudo dpkg --configure -a' to correct the problem.
pi@raspberrypi:~ $
running that now...we'll see

How does one check progress ...for lets say...while something is unpacking....seemingly taking forever ...but maybe not hung?
