Just wanted to confirm that in order to start edison setup aand get jubilinux on it...that you first install yocto---seemed strange so just wanted to confirm.

Oct 11 2016 00:29
@scottleibrand Just an FYI, I deleted all the previous files, went back through Oref0 set up and I am back and live on the edison. Now back to wifi!
@garykidd NO!!! Do not install yocto!
@garykidd just start with Ubilinux if you are using windows, then just follow Monia's youtube. It is really straightforward: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L57RC8POJzM
garykidd
@garykidd
Oct 11 2016 00:31
yeah..not using windows.
David
@davidkeddydb
Oct 11 2016 00:32
that is if you want to go with Jubilinux. You can do yocto but then you have to do manual install of everything
garykidd
@garykidd
Oct 11 2016 00:32
and are there any differences between ubilinux and jublinux that could cause issues?
David
@davidkeddydb
Oct 11 2016 00:33
@garykidd I think some of the programming that @scottleibrand and everyone has in place is reliant on jubilinux but don't quote me on that
garykidd
@garykidd
Oct 11 2016 00:34
I recall the same. But looks like you got yours working anyhow.

Oct 11 2016 00:34
@garykidd I only have macs but borrowed a windows machine and I will say that doing it through windows was easier
I tried going through the mac and following the steps and I couldnt get it done
@garykidd I have it working as long as I am at home. I can't figure wifi to save my life. I am working on that tonight.
Scott Leibrand
@scottleibrand
Oct 11 2016 00:36
@garykidd I flashed jubilinux with a Mac. worked great
just have to make sure you have the right homebrew packages installed
only real diff between jubilinux and ubilinux is the latter requires a whole bunch more upgrades to get going, so it takes a lot longer
David
@davidkeddydb

@scottleibrand if the /etc/network/interfaces file has: auto wlan0

So.......how do we solve the problem of the usb ports periodically quitting. This is a different problem then the carelink disconnecting. A cron to reset them? The only USB thing I currently have attached is carelink. Will a CRON that resets the USB ports interfere with wifi as some of the documentation suggests?

@scottleibrand , @danamlewis ...Super dude @jasoncalabrese showed me how to set up ThisButton on the pebble with IFTTT and Maker requests to do the following:
!(http://content.screencast.com/users/loki_mdog/folders/Snagit/media/9fcfa5c0-728e-49c4-bd4e-9c0aa9b85316/10.10.2016-21.27.png)
So that you can set temp targets with one or two clicks on the pebble...it is awesome!

And we'd like to add it to the documentation...if I pull dev, should I add this to "Phase 4: Iterate and Improve the Closed Loop" under a new section under Advanced? Something like "Pebble Integration with OpenAPS"? Does that sound right? Cool if I do so?

Scott Leibrand
@scottleibrand
Oct 11 2016 04:35
Then resetting USB is probably fine. Still would be best to do it only if the preflight fails and mm-stick shows a USB problem.

Oct 11 2016 04:36
The pebble documentation looks intimidating. Maybe I'll save that for next week. @scottleibrand , that was just what I was going to ask
Scott Leibrand

Terri Lyman
@tatigger

So you arrange for preflight to run periodically, say every 15 or 30 minutes. It doesn't disconnect THAT frequently but it is important when it does.

I saw it when I looked at the cron-tab
Then I copied it down
So when I was looking, @scottleibrand, I noticed some discussion of the sensitivity adjustment and bad sites causing issues. I think I get bad sites VERY frequently. Like an extra site ever 4 to 5 days. Even with changing every 2 days. Has anyone used the infusion set? Is that any better? And do you think the sensitivity setting is best left out in this case? I was looking forward to that feature!

After the mongo update, our working loops started to kill our Azure dataout allowance after about 18-19 hours each day.

I've now setup a brand new openaps setup, moved it to a difference azure web app, and changed crontab to run every 2 minute vs 1 minute... plus only have 1 pi running for now (had 1 pis running every minute before. Now, i seem to be used about 18%/day ... with this level, i could probably put both pis back online running each minute again.

Thinking about buying a second hand Medtronic pump compatible with openAPS.

My insurance provides me with infusion sets and reservoirs for my pump, the Medtronic 640G.

Does anybody know if the 640G infusion sets/reservoirs are compatible for old Medtronic pumps? If so, for which ones?. Thanksss

@logichammer Thanks for figuring this out - I look forward to seeing the docs. Have been meaning to try to figure out how to set temp targets from the watch, so this will be helpful. ThisButton doesn't work on Pebble Time Round but as long as there are docs for the IFTTT / Maker channel / web request method in general there are other apps that could do it.

@tatigger @scottleibrand I added the reset-usb to my preflight. I am running a pi2, so it also resets my wifi. So far no problems, but I have only been running this way for three nights. I just noticed now that I can't ssh to pi this morning. It looks like something happened about an hour ago. I will need to check the logs to see what happened. I am looping using do-everything and preflight runs in that command, so preflight runs every loop. I have also modified cron. I am only looping at night and the reset-usb will trigger when the pump gets out of range of the carelink. I still use the pi to send BG to nightscout during the day, but only loop at night. I didn't want the usb to get reset all day, so during the day cron runs report-nightscout. Hope this helps. Here is my preflight alias: preflight ! bash -c "rm -f monitor/clock.json && echo -n \"PREFLIGHT \" && openaps report invoke monitor/clock.json 2>/dev/null >/dev/null && grep -q T monitor/clock.json && echo OK || ( ( mm-stick warmup 2>&1 || sudo oref0-reset-usb ) | egrep -v \"^ \"; echo FAIL; sleep 120; exit 1 )"

So I have had a weird thing happen, that wasn't happening prior to Openaps. I am going high almost every day after breakfast. I have even gone and changed my carb ratio from 1:7 to 1:6 and I have an exact carb count. Keep going up to 190/200 2 hours post prandial. I think part of this is happening because of lower basals at night where Openaps is dropping me down to 0 hour prior to waking up. Anyone else experience this?
C-Ville
@C-Ville
Oct 11 2016 13:42
@davidkeddydb I have these dramatic spikes mostly when I am drifting towards a hypo and OpenAPS is cutting basal for quite some time (a lot of -IOB) and if I then still need to eat carbs, I tend to shoot high. My guess was that in my mind I tend to neglcect the accumulated negative IOB. Which would essentially go into your direction. On the other hand if your basal is often tuned down over night you might want to consider adjusting the basal programming in your pump
Dana Lewis
@danamlewis
Oct 11 2016 13:49
@davidkeddydb sounds like you have a lot of negative iob going toward breakfast, and yes that will cause meal spikes. If this is consistent, you may need to tweak basals a few hours before breakfast (I.e the 2-3 hours before the hour it starts zero temping). Temporary work arounds include checking out netiob and bolusing to bring you to zero iob as soon as you wake up, or triggering "eating soon" mode to have the loop help level put iob.
David
@davidkeddydb

Screenshot 2016-10-11 09.55.18.png
@danamlewis Gotcha. Think I have some negative iob.
Dana Lewis
@danamlewis
Oct 11 2016 13:59
There's a bunch of extra pills you can enable in Nightscout to show OpenAPS status. And you can look at your logs to see your netiob in the meantime
May be some waking up spike going on too from the look of that one.
(Sometimes regardless of what time I wake up, I have a rise like that in the morning after I get out of bed, it is hormone related to your body waking up)
Can't always "fix" hormonal impact, but a temp target to 80 starting when you wake up, or pre scheduling it if you know what time you'll be getting up and doing breakfast, is a good option and will help combat any overnight negative iob.
David
@davidkeddydb
Oct 11 2016 14:06
@danamlewis Thanks. So try to drop the basal 2-3 hours prior so that I end up eliminating the negative net iob, right? I will look at the logs and see what the negative iob is at those times.
Dana Lewis
@danamlewis

If it's consistently low temping you every morning at the same times, yes.
Chris Oattes
@cjo20
Oct 11 2016 14:11
Basically, if the openAPS is making the same adjustment at the same time most days, it implies there is something wrong with the basal/bolus setup around that time
David
@davidkeddydb
Oct 11 2016 14:16
@cjo20 @danamlewis I hear you. Will review here and make some changes. I think the other small thing is I take the pump off to shower, before I was on a pod. I am not in there that long, but I am also not doing anything for the small lack of basal I am getting in the 10-15 min window. Ok, it might be 20mins.
Dana Lewis
@danamlewis
Oct 11 2016 14:21
Make sure you zero temp and suspend (and then unsuspend ;)) to track for that negative job, too. (just suspending, OpenAPS doesn’t know that’s getting zero insulin, it’s a known issue.)

Good morning, I have a question about scrolling back to view pertinent data in NS with OpenAPS enabled. The documentation says if you scroll back at each glucose data point "you can see what the critical information was at that time" When I do so I can hover over a data point in the graph to see the cgm data, I can hover over care portal entries, but the OpenAPS pill doesn't change. Which critical information is supposed to change at that point?

Ok, I was trying to follow the directions in the guide. "Github mkimg tool has the ability to create a full SD card image with the advantage to shrink it to its minimum size quite different from the windows Win32DiskImager which always creates an image which is as large as the card. Using Win32DiskImager it might not be possible to restore an image on a new card with the same size. Using Github mkimg tool instead for example a 32 GB size card can be reduced to approximately 1.9 GB."
Never mind, I think I found directions through Google for copying it with my Macbook

name of date fields or something
if you identify a mismatch there, we can probably update the oref0 lib/cob-autosens code to recognize the xdrip format
but more generally, you should run each report manually to see what errors it's throwing
this one is probably oref0-meal (meal.json)

Comparing the last 2 records (I cat'ed glucose.json) to Ben West's example (https://github.com/bewest/openaps-example/blob/master/monitor/glucose.json), I don't have a display_time or system_time but I do have dateString.

Yeah Loop on iOS finally is working for me, despite making NO changes to it, over the course of 1.5 days.
It didn't work for me during surgery. And afterwards they like REALLY sedated me cause of like the pain and stuff. They gave me a ton of fentanyl—plus Valium, Ativan, and Haldol. They even had a room at the hospital for me reserved. They were expecting for me to stay the night after the chain of events that occurred.
So I guess I was kind of lucky. And I'm glad that's over with...
