@tim2000s I would not agree that mmeowlink is working everywhere else with Master. I get periodic hangs which usually resolve themselves in 10 - 20 minutes but sometimes require a reboot.

How much difference in signal range is there with trimming the Explorer board's antenna for 915 MHz (US) instead leaving at the factory length for 868 MHz (Europe)?

not a lot of real-world difference in our experience. we didn't really quantify it though.

@scottleibrand I'm running autotune as a one off on macOS using the command in the dev docs and currently getting a date error, do I need to use a different date format or modify the autotune script for macOS?

Jan 12 2017 01:14
yes. there is in fact an issue open to do just that: openaps/oref0#327. I'm sure @CrushingT1D would love any assistance you'd like to provide.
OS X uses the BSD date command, which is significantly different than the Linux one

I keep trying to create a Heroku account and i am unable ... is anyone available to troubleshoot creating the count and deploying CGM-remote-monitor from github?

I was successful with Azure but for some reason i am really missing something with Heroku

Sorry I would but I got high cause of gut pain. My brain isn't here. Perhaps tomorrow if it's still unresolved?
There should be a Heroku setup instruction or something in OpenAPS/docs
estunek
@estunek
Jan 12 2017 02:34
I have the set up instructions but I think i may be missing something with I originally set up a heroku account because when i deploy to heroku the options look completely different than what is in the instructions.

Matt Walker

Jan 12 2017 02:36
@estunek these instructions are aimed at loop users but they provide the general gist of how to do it, you can add in the bits you need from openaps docs https://github.com/Kdisimone/Loop/blob/master/NewUserNS.pdf

@walker0 I created my Heroku site. Added CC information. Then went to GitHub. Forked in the most recent CGM-remote-monitor. Selected Read Me. Then selected deploy to heroku. When it opens Heroku it is saying that there is no "app.json located in the repo URL provided."

So I have been looping with a carelink stick, didnt setup for the carelink, just plugged it in and it worked, but want to switch to the TI stick becasue Ive heard it has a much greater range, So what do I need to do here? when i try to add the vendor i get a bunch of pip options lines then " no such options --path"
glenrob1940
@glenrob1940
Jan 12 2017 04:57
@ejoe132 Since you 'just plugged it in' I presume your on a raspberry pi. You need to follow the directions for flashing the TI stick and then the directions for setting up a symbolic link to /dev/mmeowlink, and finally rerun oref0-setup.sh with the pertinent information.
John Benjamin
@Bender1061
Jan 12 2017 04:59
@ejoe132 you will need a cc debugger, or if you are close to someone who has one in order to put the correct firmware on the board. follow the directions on https://github.com/oskarpearson/mmeowlink/wiki to get you started.
you should concider the edison and the explorer board. much smaller system.
ejoe132
@ejoe132
Jan 12 2017 05:01
@Bender1061 ya still waiting for the explorer board to come so trying to get started with this, i already did the cc debugger on the stick, think i just need to do the setup vendor stuff on the pi but it keeps saying no such path, not sure if I need to clear something out?
glenrob1940
@glenrob1940
Jan 12 2017 05:29
@ejoe132 So are you running this on an edison? If so, how are you connecting the TI Stick. If you are plugging it into USB, make sure you have an OTG cable. In any case, if you are using USB, you will probably want to use the symbolic udev notes in https://github.com/oskarpearson/mmeowlink/wiki/Installing-MMeowlink. In any case, if you are using USB it has to be recognized (identified with lsusb) before the symbolic /dev/mmeowlink device will work.
glenrob1940
@glenrob1940
Jan 12 2017 05:36
@ejoe132 And finally, note that if you are going USB you need to be using the correct flash code. usb_ep0_TI_DONGLE_US_STDLOC.hex if you are in the US. Much of the documentation is pointed towards the edison/explorer board in which case they are using a different flash code because of the way the TI stick is connected to the edison.
ejoe132
@ejoe132
Jan 12 2017 05:52
@glenrob1940 Im actually using a pi3 right now, plan to switch over to an edison end of jan/beginning of Feb when explorer board is supposed to be here. But would like to try to switch from carelink stick to TI stick for increased range.
glenrob1940
@glenrob1940
Jan 12 2017 06:38
@ejoe132 I have a couple of edison's (1 explorer and 1 intel mini breakout) plus one pi3. I set the pi3 up with a Ti stick using the code I mentioned for flashing and cut and paste of the ATTR stuff in the symbolic udev section. After rebooting /dev/mmeowlink was there and entering that in oref0-setup.sh worked fine. I can move around most of my (rather small) house and still comm with the Ti stick. I do a lot of stuff in a room that is downstairs and with a couple of walls + a floor between the pi3 and my pump and it works to about a straight line distance of 35 feet or so.

Restart Edison and BT?
Aaron Michelson
@Aaybob
Jan 12 2017 07:20
I did reboot, then I did shutdown, then I disconnected power on edison. On iPhone I rebooted, shut BT off and on, deleted all BT connections. And got the same result. When I quit it showed me that BlueZ was active, I guess. It did this:
[bluetooth]# quit
Agent unregistered
[DEL] Controller 98:4F:EE:04:5A:D0 BlueZ 5.37 [default]
I think there's a new dev branch update though that I could install. Git could tell me (git expert extrodinaire) if code for bluetooth installation is changed.

@Aaybob I made a oref0-bluetoothup.sh in dev that runs every min, and checks the status of the bluetooth and restart it if needed. just the bluetooth, not the bt-pan, that still works the same. I also added some logic that turns off the bt-pan if it sees wifi. I had some issues Wed, but I don't know if it was related to that or not, so I would love to hear some feedback if that aspect of things is working for everyone. I need to get me a Pi rig to test things on as well.

@Bender1061 I was wondering if killing and restarting the bluetoothctld is a good idea. My son's rig was totally hung (hung-hung, inaccessible via UART) a few times when moving from outside to home, so I commented out killing the bluetoothctld, and my script only starts it when it is not running. So far I haven't had any problems with auto-switching the tethering on and off. Not claiming it's a good fix, since I am not 100% sure of the original culprit.
Granted, I don't yet run with your change testing the availability of WiFi, so the rig stays on BT tether until it can no longer use it.
