@danamlewis. The original direction i read was to make a static.json file based on this code the example code mentioned in the open aps manual, so this is what i did and labeled it static.json as you can see:{

Why do you have three sets of targets that are all exactly the same?
Dana Lewis
@danamlewis
Feb 01 2017 01:15
yep, so you should be able to keep going and use the setup scripts :+1: and just make sure the static.json ends up in the myopenaps directory you create with the setup script in phase 2

That note in the docs about x12 was created a year+ ago, well ahead of the setup scripts, so you may also want to PR in some improvements to clarify what actions are needed for the x12 users once you get all the way through your setup successfully :+1:

So our Edison/Explorer died today. I'm not able to flash it, as it reboots itself before the flashall program can take over. I've managed to interrupt it at the 'press any key to stop autoboot' phase, but it reboots just a few seconds later. Any ideas?

@scottleibrand Quick question about oref0-setup.sh. The comment on line 657 (dev branch) says "use nightscout for cgm", but then as far as I can tell, openaps get-bg grabs BG from the pump (through monitor-cgm alias, then monitor/cgm-mm-glucosedirty.json). Is the comment out of date / wrong?
Tim Street
@tim2000s
Feb 01 2017 12:12
@cjo20 I'm running with two CGM sources at the moment so can distinguish the two datasets. My monitor/glucose.json is currently pulled from Nightscout and only reverts to the local MDT data when it loses NS connectivity or has no data change from there.
Tim Street
@tim2000s
Feb 01 2017 12:39
It's hidden in OpenAPS.ini but the monitor-CGM alias checks the Nightscout data in a similar way to @colinlennon's cron entry before deciding which to use.

Feb 01 2017 12:55
@tim2000s when you take the edison compute module off use the other for testing then you can put the edison compute module back on and function will return. There is no destruction of the explorer board.

@diabetic_dude_twitter Yes, I did as I didn't have to change ISF and carb ratios when I went on to Loop. It was only DIA that was an issue. My basal rates are also the same as I knew those worked well for me (something that Autotune has proven). If you have your data in Nightscout it might be worth running Autotune on its own to check them out.

@feraridurango that means your ~/src/oref0/ git repo is corrupted. you can just rm -rf ~/src/oref0/ to delete it, and then re-run the Phase 2 steps to re-clone it and re-run oref0-setup.
@mgranberry yes, the Explorer board has a JST connector and an on-board charging circuit. Morgan just reduced the max current on it to 250mA to keep the temperature down, so it'll charge a fully depleted 2000mAh battery in about 8 hours.

Feel like I've hit a brick wall... can't seem to get BLE to restart automatically when I reboot my Edison. But if I type:

sudo killall bluetooth sudo /usr/local/bin/bluetoothhd --experimental & sudo hciconfig hci0 name $HOSTNAME sudo bt-pan client xx:xx:xx.... (mac address)

then it connects.

What could I be doing wrong? How can I troubleshoot this further to see what the edison is doing on reboot? I am connected via serial.

(Please forgive the type-o on the script above... that was just me re-typing instead of copying & pasting)
Tim Street
@tim2000s
Feb 01 2017 20:59
@scottleibrand It does tend to make things rather warm, yes. I've found that the QI coil generates a fair amount of heat, to the extent that I'm trying to design a case that can better manage the airflow to accommodate it as it pushed the core temperatures up very fast.
Scott Leibrand
@scottleibrand
Feb 01 2017 21:04
@apabari that is exactly what oref0-online does. so I would try rebooting the Edison, making sure it doesn't have Internet, and then running oref0-online manually. (You may need to comment it out in cron so it doesn't beat you to it, or just watch /var/log/openaps/network.log)

You are using the pebble stuff in OpenAPS?

@scottleibrand I tried to get that to work, I was unsuccessful. Even tried to only have it work if you were offline, but you would always have to re-pair your phone to your watch when back online

that would have been real nice to have work
I can have multiple rigs paired to one watch though and that works fine

while on the cruise awhile back we had Cards for Pebble hitting a local JSON endpoint on the rig, which worked ok
biggest problem was you couldn't change the endpoint it hit unless you were online and could load up the Cards for Pebble settings page. wonder if it'd be possible to proxy and cache that on the rig...
that solution requires a local wifi AP: I have an Edimax that works well for that, although at one point I also had a second wifi adapter in the Pi that let me both get online and provide a local AP

now I'm wondering if I could just get the rig to hijack my server's hostname when it's offline and respond to the normal Cards for Pebble URLs we use...

what I ended up doing for the cruise, I just bought a $50 pebble for pancreabble, so I did not have to mess with my pebble steel. Worked real well on the cruise too, and with the status message of IOB for both total and basal. really helped me know exactly what the rig was doing, so it all worked super well.

yea. my new pebble has had issues reconnecting to the app every time my phone reboots, so I’m hesitant to muck too much w/ it right now. using old/second one is good idea for offline and/or testing purposes

does anyone know of a good way to get the local weather temp. I want my urchin watchface to displace the temp outside as one of the status lines. But I'm having an issue finding what I want. I know slightly off topic, but it's one of those things I used to alway look at on my watchface, along with the date. but now with using Urchin which is usefull in it's own way. I miss the temp
it would have to be some sort of web address that returns a simple temp string

are you ok hard-coding your hometown, or do you want it to be geo-aware?

geo-aware would be awesome, but hard-coded would be ok
