Father of a new openaps user here. Looking for some help. In fear the radio in my explorer board has died, but going I'm wrong. The rig can no longer communicate with the pump. When I return the setup script I get "monitor/mmtune.json raised Could not get subg_rfspy state or version. Have you got the right port/device and radio_type?" where it normally establishes communication. I haven't yet tried a complete refladh of the Edison. If no one here had better advice, I'll try that. The rig was working for about a week prior to this. Any ideas?

@jdunn42 have you tried a reboot?

Yes

@jdunn42 I've gotten fooled into thinking it's not working when it just wasn't seated - I'd take it apart and make sure there isn't a dust or something in the connector - I assume the lights on the explorer board are powered ? Also make sure nothing is shorted i.e. There isn't something conductive laying on the explorer like a stray power wire or something
jdunn42
@jdunn42
Feb 24 2017 00:45
@kenstack I thought of that too. Reseated it after blowing air over both pieces. Lights are powering up normally. No problem connecting to the Edison. Everything seems to work except the radio.

that really is strange
Have you tried running the reset script ?
Just wondering if it's in a weird state - power should have fixed it ...

Really beginning to suspect the explorer board now. Just tried to connect by USB, won't connect. Can only connect by wifi.

OK fixed USB connection issue with a reboot. Probably going to reflash next.

Feb 24 2017 01:36
@jdunn42 what happens when you do openaps mmtune? Do the two red lights flash and then go out?
You might need to re-flash the radio chip with ccprog
jdunn42
@jdunn42
Feb 24 2017 01:41
@scottleibrand Already started a complete reflash. Figured it was the sure way to fix a software issue.
Scott Leibrand
@scottleibrand
Feb 24 2017 01:43
Not necessarily. You might also need to reflash the Explorer cc1110 chip, not just the Edison.
And for future reference, the ccprog reflash only takes about 30 seconds, vs. 10 minutes for an Edison reflash.

Max_daily-safety_multiplier and current_basal_safety_multiplier. Will those use pump profile or autotune profile (if enabled in closed loop)?

@scottleibrand I'm attempting to reflash the cc1110, but can't seem to compile ccprog. I followed the Sparkfun instructions to install mraa, but still get undefined references to mraa when I try to compile ccprog.c

how do I change it so that openAPS always gives the same "suggestion". I noticed that if the base is 0.6 for example..it would suggest 1...but the second I change it to 0.2 for example..it would say 0.5...
so why it suggest 1 the first time, but the next minute it suggest 0.5
this was a test scenario..
I want it to always suggest the same?
I know it uses the base and does (min).
clue?

samihusseingit: the maximum basal rate it will suggest depends on your current basal rate. It's a safety feature to limit the amount of insulin it will deliver
I believe the limits are 4x current basal rate, and 3x maximum daily basal rate

Hello, I'm updating my nightscout to the grilled cheese version and have created a PR and completed the steps, however I'm not sure how to check whether it updated successfully. The old version (dreamsicle) is still showing up on the my android nightscout phone, and I can't find the version number on my azure account. I have also disconnected and reconnected the deployment source on azure already (connected to GitHub). Any suggestions?

@MicheleJustine if you have master deployed, it looks like your repo is up to date. If you have dev branch deployed, your repo is out of date.

@hilarykoch try running the command on separate lines? Sometimes the view gets truncated. cd into autotune directory and then try cat

Yes, future data, but where from_
?
@tazitoo --- yes. Also I have NTP installed on both machines
tazitoo
@tazitoo
Feb 24 2017 17:39
your CGM and pump don't run NTP
Bog Dan
@bogdangorescu
Feb 24 2017 17:39
(I'm running my own NS server on ubuntu server)
CGM is not directly involved...I'm fetching BG data from NS site. Pump has the correct time set
Chris Oattes
@cjo20
Feb 24 2017 17:40
How does the BG data get in to nightscout?
Bog Dan
@bogdangorescu
Feb 24 2017 17:40
From a rigged Dexcom G4
Chris Oattes
@cjo20
Feb 24 2017 17:40
then the CGM is involved. The process is CGM -> Nightscout -> openaps
Bog Dan
@bogdangorescu
Feb 24 2017 17:41
using a phone linked with a OTG cable. Data is available here: http://glicemii.duckdns.org:8021

Feb 24 2017 17:42
look int he admin section of NS, see if it says it has future data
Bog Dan
@bogdangorescu
Feb 24 2017 17:43
Checked...no future data.
Anyhow...maybe I should reinstall the whole Raspberry PI operating system and try again.
It's just a testing system.
@all: would you be interested in a DIY pump that can talk to openAPS ?
I'll have a meeting tommorow with a group of engineers that claims they already built a DIY pump that's working perfectly. I don't know many details yet, but it sounds promising.
Chris Oattes
@cjo20
Feb 24 2017 17:48
@bogdangorescu DIY pumps are problematic IMO. Delivering 0.00025ml reliably isn't trivial, and having a device with delivery limits that has been through proper testing is useful in terms of safety
Bog Dan
@bogdangorescu
Feb 24 2017 17:49
As far as I know, they've tested it properly in terms of delivery accuracy, reliabilty. Again, I don't know many details, I'll have to wait for tommorow.

@bogdangorescu where are they located?
Chris Oattes
@cjo20
Feb 24 2017 17:50
For what value of "properly"? 'we tried it 20 times and it seemed about right' isn't the same as 'We submitted it to the FDA and have data from several thousand test boluses, along with studies verifying device safety'
The problem I have with custom hardware like that is that it'd be really easy to get slightly wrong, and the results could well be catastrophic, for both the user and the community in general

@Scorponok
Feb 24 2017 17:56
@bogdangorescu If you're using a medtronic pump, try calibrating? We've had the "BG data too old" problem be fixed by calibrating in the past
Once a week or so, the pump randomly just stops transmitting new BG data, we have to calibrate to make it start again. The new data appears fine on the pump, it just doesn't get to the rig for some reason
Until we calibrate
Chris Oattes
@cjo20
Feb 24 2017 17:57
@Scorponok It seems his problem is that he got future data in to the system from somewhere

If I have my G4 receiver USB/OTG to my Edison/Explorer rig, with uploader off (so no NS updates via uploader phone of BG data), I can see from the log that the rig is getting the bg ok, and responding to it. Would the rig update NS with the BG data if the rig is still connected via WIFI? The only thing I changed for testing is the rig's source of BG data...from the receiver instead of NS

@peterfulvi did you enable autotune when you answered the questions during the setup script?

Try cd myopenaps && cat oref0-runagain.sh
See if you have autotune in your enable line

To run again with these same options, use:
oref0-setup --dir=/root/myopenaps --serial=59xxxx --cgm=g4 --ns-host=https://fakesite.herokuapp.com --api-secret=Xxxxxxxxxx --tty=/dev/spidev5.1 --enable=' autosens autotune meal ' --radio_locale='US' --btmac='18:F6:43:76:2C:E1'

There is a file there, nothing appears to be in it. It appears to have been working at 2:05am and no longer at 2:09am.
root@localhost:~# cd tedi2loop/settings && cat autosens.json
root@localhost:~/tedi2loop/settings# cat autosens.json
root@localhost:~/tedi2loop/settings# ls

bg_targets.json      insulin_sensitivities_raw.json  pumphistory-24h-zoned.json

Thanks @Kdisimone!
@peterfulvi sorry, I don't have any information about NS with Medtronic CGM. I can't use it. Can't keep it attached. For some reason the dog insists on ripping it off of me, while the Dexcom is no problem. Go figure!

I use the Hobby level $7 a month @peterfulvi
katie disimone
@Kdisimone
Feb 24 2017 21:27
you can use free plan if you have one rig and probably be just fine. I choose to do the $7 a month plan because I kind of like the metrics they let you see with that plan…and I plan on having three rigs at home when the backordered edisons are available
