there seems to ba a consistency every couple days my loop will just stop at a certain time and i will have to reboot to get the loop going again. Is this something that can be prevented. I have been read about the Cron scheduler. Now could thr=ere be a script i could put in there to do a reboot, say every 24 hours at a certain time? Im just thinking of a way i could be a step ahead. Its kind of an inconenience'

the syslog file is /var/log/syslog

@peterfulvi can I eavesdrop and make suggestion? You should add some aliases so that you don't have to memorize (I was in same spot as you). And papertrail has saved me sooo much time in trying to review logs. Both of those can be setup in about 15 min. Directions in Phase 1 for both.

Dana Lewis
@danamlewis

katie disimone

@libby4label you can use cat <filename> to verify the lines are indeed there vs just can't see them.
libby4label
@libby4label
Mar 14 2017 03:04
so type in cat <wpa-conf /etc/wpa_supplicant/wpa_supplicant.conf>
Dana Lewis
@danamlewis
Mar 14 2017 03:06
no. if the command is vi /etc/wpa_supplicant/wpa_supplicant.conf, then just replice vi with cat, i.e. cat /etc/wpa_supplicant/wpa_supplicant.conf
looks like you add some extra stuff in front of the /, and also < >
if you see < > in the docs, it’s usually <example filename>, and you should not enter the < > as part of the command
Looking at your file, it looks like in addition to missing the closing curly brace }, you also have a typo - it says sside where it should read ssid` (so also need to delete the extra e when you get into the file
libby4label

it looks like you may have accidentally overwritten the file
so what you can do is 1) vi and open the file. 2) i for insert mode 3) delete what’s there 4) copy and paste the example from the docs (where it says “after editing, your file should look like:”) into the doc and 5) re-add your network, watching to avoid typos 6) do :wq to save 7) cat it again to check the file

There are also vented cases listed in that same section. Mine can be found here: https://github.com/danimaniac/OpenAPS-Explorer-Board-Edison-vented-case
Mike

Mar 14 2017 13:10
@danimaniac do you have CAD files for your case? I will then change it for slightly bigger LiPo and one for 18650 as they are maybe the best with 3400mAh (buy just the one from Panasonic as many other are advertised with 4000-6000mAh are fake, max for 18650 ist for now 3400mAh)
tepidjuice
@tepidjuice
Mar 14 2017 13:16
@danimaniac Thanks I've read the docs. I just wondered if it was possible to fit a slightly bigger lipo in there. I'm pretty keen to use a tic tac box as a case as it's cheap and easily replaceable if it breaks. I like your case design though.

then check the time on all the things

Hi folks. First time here asking for help. I've been looping on-and-off for about two weeks now, with some success and with some frustration.

I ran into problems around the time I changed the time on my pump and Dexcom (G4). I was getting a bunch of strange git add errors for clock-zoned.json and then I ran openaps report invoke monitor/clock-zoned.json and started getting git add errors for clock.json

Went through that with a few of the other monitor files and then I've finally ended up with the AssertionError, above.

Any thoughts or pointers on get back up and running would be much appreciated!

Thanks!

@mhaeberli the new ones do not require you to cut a trace in order to plug in a receiver and loop offline. So your call. Depending on comfort level w flashing edisons, you may also want to order a now pre-flashed Edison as well if you get a new board
Martin Haeberli
@mhaeberli

@danamlewis - thx - if it’s just a trace cut, I think I can manage it … and as to flashing Edisons - haven’t done that yet, but lots of experience flashing various embedded systems, so hoping I can manage…

Terri Lyman

All the clocks are manually set or set to AZ time ( Pis and Edisons). No time change, so no issue. And it is intermittent, so the loop stops for an hour, then comes back. By itself

@RedCyclist1 So, just to clarify some of the “it” useage…When you are in the house, the rig is on the home wifi. And the toggle for your iphone hotspot it left in the on position. When you leave the house, does the rig automatically connect to the hotspot without you touching anything? Or does it not connect?
@mhaeberli ours has been rock solid. no complaints about it. bt tether has been better than wifi connection for hotspot.

@danamlewis thank you, I'm going to try to figure out the network problems and hopefully that will fix it, appreciate your quick response!

@parenthetic next step - try rerunning setup (original, not run-again). And if that still gives it...I'd start fresh and reinstall from the start of phase 2.
FYI hearing about some heroku issues. If anyone's getting that/having NS issues, remember you can see what's happening in your OpenAPS by tailing the logs. http://openaps.readthedocs.io/en/latest/docs/walkthrough/phase-2/oref0-setup.html#step-3-watch-the-logs

@Hardwick1973 yup....myself and two others just lost bridge data an hour ago
Follow app is fine. Mlab is status ok. Restarted dynos. Redeployed cgm-remote-monitor. Nothing is working to clear it up
@danamlewis it is definitely a bridge issue

Yea. Mine is working though, so interesting that it's sporadic.
Some people reporting they are back though

Oddly, my spark fun watchface still works. So the Dexcom Share servers are still letting me "login" which you would think would fail if the bridge isn't working since basically the same action.

yeah mine just resolved too. I restarted my phone? not sure if it was that or just coincidence. I was “down” according to ns for 60+ minutes. Share was working, on my home network…bs not updating to ns only?
using g5 bridge also

That was almost IDENTICAL to what I get when I leapfrog receivers

So I started over from oref0 on my other Edison, and it is doing the same thing.
Starting pump-loop at Tue Mar 14 16:53:07 MST 2017:
Radio ok, Listening: .No pump comms detected from other rigs
Profile less than 60m old
glucose.json newer than temp_basal.json
Temp refreshed
Could not parse input data: [TypeError: Cannot read property 'date' of undefined]
determine-basal://text/shell/enact/suggested.json
reporting enact/suggested.json
I re deployed my heroku app, and I retyped everything in to the system from the docs, not saved notes, and not the "use this to keep all the settings" thing.
