@Kdisimone Thanks Kate, will set it up.. as I am not good at reading what I do have
@danamlewis @Kdisimone I am not sure how to get the logs from last night to show

That's great for current info. But wasn't you question about things that are happening at night? While you slept? Get papertrail going so that you can look back in the morning at what happened during the night.
Dana Lewis

Mar 20 2017 00:56
Do you mean for your max iob to still be 0?
I have a feeling it's low temping you but then can't high temp to compensate for any rises in the am.

@danamlewis @Kdisimone OK, I haven't changed anything yet, I was changing targets and maxiob in pump, I thought that was where the input was coming from. I will reread the prefences
katie disimone
@Kdisimone
Mar 20 2017 00:59
You didn't change max_iob in the pump. That is not possible. You were changing a max basal rate. That is a different thing entirely. Back to the phase 3 docs for more on that

Hi everyone, having some trouble here getting the rig to work without freezing. Today papertrail logs have stopped and before it stopped I was getting a bunch of (CRON) error (create tmpfile) errors. This despite doing a hard restart just a few hours ago.
Any ideas?
Dana Lewis
@danamlewis
Mar 20 2017 01:14
@thebookins try a reboot?
Hard restart might've corrupted git and filled up tmp..
There's also a fix in dev for a better fix on tmp stuff but possibly depends on what's causing as to what the fix needed is
Paul Dickens
@thebookins
Mar 20 2017 01:18
Thanks @danamlewis I'll also look into the new stuff in dev. What's the likelihood we've got a dodgy edison? Seems to be happening more frequently than others report...

for networking issues, you'll want to be reviewing /var/log/openaps/network.log. You can use the wifi shortcut to see it in real time, or use something like less to look back at older entries

looks like your wifi is fine right now. it'd be less /var/log/openaps/network.log to see the whole history. use your PgUp/PgDown keys (or space and -) to scroll through it all and find whatever timeframe you think it was misbehaving
if the whole log (for timeframes you're on wifi) looks like what you pasted, then your wifi is fine

lil help with LIC IP vs. local IP?

Google for something like "NAT public IP private IP" to learn about how that all works
basically, that's your home router sharing a single public IP for the entire house, and translating between the private IPs on your wifi and the public IP for the outside
I thought I had fixed the way it removes spaces from the network name, but apparently not...

@garykidd The time stamps on those logs all look pretty consistent, so no problem during these times. Try the 'uptime' command to show how long your rig has been up since the last reboot. Compare that to when you've had trouble accessing it. If the uptime is longer, then it's likely a network issue. But could it be that the whole rig is rebooting? If the uptime is about the same as your access problem, it may be rebooting for some reason.

I'm seeing that too @gregtcm . Does oref0-reset-git fix it?
gregtcm
@gregtcm
Mar 20 2017 05:09
It usually doesn't show up on the next loop itteration. So, I'm not sure what causes it, or why it doesn't appear again for a while.
It's helpful for me to keep the l log running so I can keep watch on what's going on, and I notice this error every now and again.
Scott Leibrand
@scottleibrand
Mar 20 2017 05:16
yeah, if that occurs transiently it's not a big deal, although we should probably trim the ugly traceback from the logs. if it happens repeatedly and oref0-reset-git doesn't clean it up, we'll need to fix something
gregtcm

Mar 20 2017 05:17
@scottleibrand Yes, so far, it doesn't show up very often. There is also another one or two different ones that pop up every once and a while. Would you like to see those as well?
Also, did you pass on the feature request of the xDrip multiple IP addresses for the REST upload? If not, I could do that, but you'd have to tell me the best place to log it.

Well about 36 hours into using OpenAPS my nightscout site went down.... and I'm over quota for CPU usage :( It won't be back up until tonight and since I'm absolutely unwilling to carry my Dex receiver around with me I'm back on Loop for the day, but I'm still not quite sure WHY that happened? The only other times I've been over CPU usage and had my site shut down was when I ran multiple re-deployments in a day, but I haven't messed with my github so that can't be it, the only thing I did do was add some connection strings to make IFTTT work.

Is having OpenAPS fetch glucose data from NS enough to push it over?

Tim Street
@tim2000s
Mar 20 2017 15:39
Hmmm. Looping grinds to a sudden halt when your transmitter dies at 50 days instead of the 150 that you normally get when using xDrip+.
@sarahspins I take it you are using Azure? It's the frequency of both pulling and pushing that breaks the Azure free tier. Most of us use Heroku now.

@francesc0-cgm I have splitted http-widget aliases into:

  • http-widget-enact
  • http-widget-rig
  • http-widget-pump
http-widget-enact = ! bash -c "( jq .timestamp ~/myopenaps/enact/enacted.json | awk '{print substr($0,13,5)}' && jq -r .reason ~/myopenaps/enact/enacted.json && echo -n 'TBR: ' && jq .rate ~/myopenaps/enact/enacted.json && echo -n 'IOB: ' && jq .IOB ~/myopenaps/enact/enacted.json )"

http-widget-rig = ! bash -c "( echo -n 'Edison: ' && (~/src/EdisonVoltage/voltage short) | awk '{print $2,$1}' )"

http-widget-pump = ! bash -c "( echo -n 'Pump: ' && cat ~/myopenaps/monitor/reservoir.json && echo -n 'U ' && jq .voltage ~/myopenaps/monitor/battery.json | tr '\n' 'v' && echo \" \" )"

xdrip-bg = ! bash -c "head -6 ~/myopenaps/xdrip/glucose.json | awk '{print $2}' | while read line; do echo -n $line; done | awk -F '(,)' '{print \"xdrip: \" substr($3,13,5) \", bg: \"$4 }' "

and revert the pump-loop cron line to the original one. Now the http-widget content is filled by:

* * * * * cd /root/myopenaps && openaps http-widget-enact > ~/myopenaps/enact/index.html && openaps http-widget-pump >> ~/myopenaps/enact/index.html && openaps http-widget-rig >> ~/myopenaps/enact/index.html && openaps xdrip-bg >> ~/myopenaps/enact/index.html

If you're encounted "network problems" please check if the SimpleHTTPServer is running by checking with ps -aux, the output should be similar to:

root@eddie-eb:~/myopenaps# ps -aux | grep -i "SimpleHTTPServer"

@ptinson when I stared with openAPS I was wearing a pump with incompatible firmware, so I just set up the APS-compatible pump and faked it into thinking it had a reservoir in it. Then I replicated all settings from current pump and just started the OpenAPS setup. I watched what it was doing and ran a lot of tests while the APS pump was unconnected. I even spent a day or two putting in carbs/boluses on the test pump to watch the IOB/COB calculations. Worked well... not sure if you have access to an extra pump like I did...

Mar 20 2017 21:00
e) If Edison reboots correctly but never gets picked up by the flashall.sh script and the flashing process does not start, check the Edison device ID. It will probably come out automatically after the flashall.sh script fails with a list of available devices connected to the machine. On Linux, you can run lsusb to get a list of usb devices with their device ID. If the device ID is different from the one expected on flashall.sh, you can edit the script and change lines containing: USB_VID=8087 & USB_PID=0a99 to whatever the Edison has for an ID. Some users have encountered their devices ID to be 8087:0a9e

@mawhit if you are still on yocto, the Edison should show up in Finder when you plug in OTG

yeah, it's finicky, so you have to know how to get each step working before moving onto the next one
lots of people just continue without knowing if what they did worked or not, and then some later step fails

@danamlewis I am going through step by step. windows has a right click feature that does all unzipping without having to download. i think it started with win 95. so what you have about downloading winzip is good but for most just another step. If you right click choose extract all it will ask you where and off you go. Just noting as I go.

64 bit
It was bizarre. I looked EVERYWHERE to get it going because it is by far easier to do it that way. But, I also didn't mind because I'm sure there will be others who end up needing a helper program

Unnecessary question since I haven't received all my parts yet, but I'll ask anyway... When using explorer+g5 receiver direct connection, how does the nightly recharge work? Can you just plug the explorer in and leave everything else plugged in as is, or do you have to disconnect the receiver? How about charging the receiver, how often will that be needed? (We are using iPhone currently but I'd like to try the receiver on rig).
