Nope, per discussion in the Loop room last week, that would require writing a new method for Loop and OpenAPS to communicate.
Some folks are interested, but no actual work being done there yet AFAIK.

@thebookins
Mar 31 2017 00:32
@rdalisky I'd like that as well - one option is to use the xDripAPS service to share data - I'm using that at the moment to send glucose data from Loop to the rig. I'd also like to be able to bolus from Loop, but as @scottleibrand said that would require writing a new interface.

it seems entirely possible... make the Edison emulate the rileylink's ble113
Scott Leibrand
@scottleibrand
Mar 31 2017 00:48
Not likely according to Pete.
The timing requirements are too particular.
Better to have the Edison do things at a higher level and report back. Loop would become an control and visualization interface at that point for whatever is running on the Edison.
That could be oref0, of course.
But could be something more algorithm agnostic...
Either way would probably require rewriting a fair bit of Loop.

@scottleibrand wondering if you have any further suggestions re: a bricked edison. I read prior interactions, used brand new cables, and swapped out board. My mac simply will not recognize/mount the edison after the failed flash command I ran. Also attempted in windows via parallels. No go.
Also reset SMC and PRAM multiple times

Hi, this is Robin Kirkman, the jubilinux guy.
I'm about to post a version of jubilinux with a much-updated kernel.
@msrcgm I may be able to help you with a seemingly bricked edison; repartitioning in u-boot generally lets flashing happen again. if you can't get to u-boot via the serial console i am not sure what can be done though.

@scottleibrand @danamlewis : i noticed my pebble upload is not working with G4-upload, because the file monitor/glucose-unzoned.json is not found. I can fix it with glucose_history = ../myopenaps-cgm-loop/monitor/glucose-oref0.json in openaps.ini. Is that the correct fix? Do we need to copy the file from cgm-loop to openaps, or we could also create a symlink from the myopenps to the myopena-s-gcm-loop glucose file with oref0-setup.sh. Any news on what to do with openaps/oref0#357 . I didn't get a response from @libxmike yet.

@StephenHaddley_twitter - you can also buy one on MedWow.com - a site for resale of medical equipment. We got one on there and another via kijiji (used type board). Medwow is US based, but the seller sent to Canada. Kijiji is Canadian. One pump was about $2000 CAD and the other $1000.... The first pump was purchased b/c the wait list in Alberta, Canada for a pump in the paediatric sector was 2+ years - we weren't waiting that long, we did not think it would loop (though it does). The 2nd was bought for looping specifically, but we use it as a back up - which was handy when DS took the 'original' one for a brief swim - after a few days in desiccant and a lot of luck/quick thinking/acting, it recovered and we still have 2 'loop able' pumps... We've told him if he's going to break or damage a pump to please make it the one with warranty, that currently can not be used with the artificial pancreas we 'built in the garage'!

I don't find this information in the doc (maybe am I badly reading)..I have to : navigate to Settings > Cloud Upload > MongoDB and uncheck the “Skip LAN uploads” option. Do not turn on the “Enable Nightscout Mongo DB sync” option.
but what about my rest api ? 1/download data must be enable ? and 2/ ski lan uploads should be unchecked ?

@msrcgm I had a very similar experience. I ended up reflashing edison back to factory and then flashing in a windows environment. Once that was complete, I switched back to mac for everything else and I've been fine. It was said earlier this week that the flashing part is the toughest - agreed. I think windows does make it easier somehow tho. ..(probably an intel design thang..) If all else fails, switch back and then flash with windows.. it worked fine for me

Hello All, I am running the "900MHZ EXPLORER BLOCK" with a medtronic pump (North America), and after running everything I get this message:

Starting pump-loop at Fri Mar 31 07:16:07 MDT 2017:
Radio ok, Listening: .No pump comms detected from other rigs
Profile less than 60m old
glucose.json newer than temp_basal.json
Temp refreshed
{"carbs":0,"boluses":0,"mealCOB":0}
{"ratio":0.7}
{"iob":-0.149,"activity":-0.0001,"bolussnooze":0,"basaliob":-0.149,"netbasalinsulin":-0.15,"hightempinsulin":0,"time":"2017-03-31T01:15:51.000Z"}
{"delta":-2,"glucose":42,"short_avgdelta":-3.67,"long_avgdelta":-4.98}

{"duration":26,"rate":0,"temp":"absolute"}

Does it mean the device is communicating with the pump?

Dana Lewis
@danamlewis
Mar 31 2017 13:18
Yes - the ultimate check in addition to seeing that type of log is to look at your pump and see if it set a temp
And to understand those logs, read the next few pages in the docs

I recently set up an explorer board and somehow, I guess during set up I apparently put in the wrong system time. I say this because every time I enter a bolus or carb entry it puts into nightscout 4 hours earlier than when it actually happened. Should I redo set up or is there another way file wise I can fix this? (The last time I manually set up a rig was last October, now I don't where the file are. 😄)

btw how do you use wizard when it doesn't include basal iob?
Dana Lewis
@danamlewis
Mar 31 2017 14:55
You don't use it for correction
Most ppl don't enter a bg and just use it for meal ratio calculation
Because you assume OpenAPS is otherwise properly treating you to target range
Note that iob on pump does NOT include basal iob so should be ignored.
Scott Leibrand
@scottleibrand
Mar 31 2017 14:57
@libxmike the temp basal notification isn't on every change, but rather once an hour (on the hour) if any temp basal is running. you can't disable that: you can just select whether the pump is on vibrate or audible mode for it. If that's not good enough, there is a preferences.json setting that disables setting neutral temp basals, so that you only get a notification if a high-temp or low-temp is running, not a neutral one.
@PieterGit take a look at they way glucose.json is copied over from ~/myopenaps-cgm-loop/monitor/ to ~myopenaps/monitor/

Dana Lewis
@danamlewis
Mar 31 2017 15:56
It only buzzes once an hour but if that's an issue, you can change the neutral to chance reducing some of the neutrals being on the top of the hour. http://openaps.readthedocs.io/en/latest/docs/walkthrough/phase-3/beyond-low-glucose-suspend.html

It turns out that the RF Remote wakeup packets will also wake up the pump for the purposes of the Carelink commands that we need for looping. Not surprising, but without having measured it precisely, it seems like it might wake up faster that way. The downside is that it's one more "moving part" to configure -- you need to have a remote ID enabled on the pump.
Mike
@libxmike
Mar 31 2017 18:52
@ecc1 may this solve the "problem" RFM69HCW not waking up the pump? (or did I mixed up something as I haven't done anything with RFM69HCW for months)
Eric
@ecc1
Mar 31 2017 18:58
I just did some quick measurements and both 522 and 523 pumps wake up in under 2 seconds. But the pump always beeps in response to this kind of wakeup, which is a non-starter for me.

this will be constant beeping or vibrating

Yes, like I said, a non-starter. BTW I think the wakeup problem you're talking about has to do with the hacky mmeowlink driver for the RFM69. I've been using it for looping from Go code for 6 months now, quite reliably.

I even thinking about hardware hack to remove the piezo to make it silent, as vibrating is waking me up sometimes in the night , I'lI still have the vibrate alarm but if switched to sound then will be silent

Ear plugs would be safer :-)

hehe, for sure :)
but have to find non invasive way to disable it, maybe even micro hole 0.5mm, cut or unplug and seal the "incision"
just need higher res pics and where exactly the wires is
Mike

to disable the vibrator will be easy as it is visible from outside

found the vibrator plug, same for 522/745

I may or may not do the "surgery" tomorrow
this will be even reversible

and as the hole will be under the sticker even can be seen after resealing. this is dumb and crazy, tont try it at home.

Hi everyone - I'm back. I bought a pre-flashed Edison. I can see it on my laptop but now can't seem to get into it to install Wifi. Is there a step that I'm missing that is included in the flashing instructions that gets me to the Edison console? I've tried the sudo screen /dev/tty.usbserial-(with my serial number here) 115200.

hayleyml: modprobe usbserial
and then the correct device to use for that board is /dev/ttyUSB0 I believe.

what the battery pill says?
if below 1.3V then the communication with the pump may be bad

I have no pill for it but it happens twice that I had a warning message about my pump battery level ...while it was 3/4 full !! I change it and...loop ok !!!
sorry, I have a pill for that in fact
didn't remember what it was just before replacement
now : 1.46 V..is my pump..tired ???
Mike
@libxmike
Mar 31 2017 21:05
no, 1.46 ist noch ok
new one has 1.6
last time I changed as it was about 1.26
Eric
@ecc1
Mar 31 2017 21:08
It will read 1.6 with a voltmeter, but the battery level that the pump reports for a brand-new (alkaline) battery is 1.4-something, so I think it's OK.

Sorry if this is an obvious question: Given that the real advantage of Edison over something like Raspberry Pi is size and power consumption, are people making mobile versions of OpenAPS? The FAQ referred to it being used while sleeping and said nothing about mobile daytime use, but mobile daytime use is exactly why it would make sense to prefer Edison.

Edison is in the docs as the recommended version for mobile rig
Make sure you're looking at the freshest version of the docs

Alright.
Well I'm not likely to dig too deep into OpenAPS as long as jubilinux is working properly
Is that an OpenAPS.org FAQ you were referring to?
May need updating - forgot to check if there were any Pi references there

No idea, I didn't read it super carefully
I don't actually know anyone who is diabetic

Ahhhhh - didn't connect your handle with your name. Thanks, by the way :smile:
And yes - 2/3+ of people have Edisons for their on the go rigs

I think you can add your display name to github and gitter will display that in lieu of just username?

I've started taking jubilinux a bit more seriously these past few days, with github issue trackers and repos and all that software engineering goodness
one nice bug is that you no longer have to mess around with u-boot's setenv stuff to change the systemd target, it just works as-is after flashing
nice bugfix*
i think that might make life a lot easier for people; messing around with u-boot is not for the faint of heart

@esialb is that the step we were bypassing by hitting Ctrl-D when prompted?
I never did figure out why we have to do that, just know it's necessary :)
