what do the D2 and D3 lights on mean?
Scott Leibrand
@scottleibrand
Apr 01 2017 00:21
first I'd remove and re-seat the Edison on the Explorer board
if those two lights stay dimly lit, that indicates a firmware problem on the cc1110 chip. you can use ccprog to erase and re-flash just that chip (directions in the docs)
but before you do that, make sure that turning it off, reseating the Edison, and running openaps mmtunefrom ~/myopenaps doesn't make the lights turn off

@iainct basically, any version with -SNAPSHOT should be considered experimental. I'll drop -SNAPSHOT once I have this fixed and move development onto 0.0.2-SNAPSHOT
i'm flashing it myself right now for a few final tests
The biggest improvement is going from a 3.10.17 to 3.10.98 kernel

@ecc1 my idea with disconnecting the vibrator wire in the pump is not practicable because I and everyone who is using the remote need the vibrate confirmation for bolus. @applehat you could just let it try and fail to set temps. If you really wanted to disable that, you'd probably want to replace the enact alias with something that is more of a no-op.
If you let it keep trying, you could occasionally go into PC Connect mode manually any time you wanted to let it loop...
Not sure that is any easier than doing the temp manually though.

Should the sequence of connecting the Console before OTG matter on an Edison? I only see the MERRIFEILD device when i connect the OTG first, and only the first time I connect it. The COMM PORT is always established in my devices on connection of the Console but the terminal is dead (Baud and COMM port verified). I don't see anything in putty or other terminals (I tried a pi and another laptop), same dead terminal situation. I did attempt an image flash earlier today, which appeared to fail but I has able to get into the console in recovery mode etc. help!

after 1 night of "looping" (not really, but it running the loop) i'm getting "No Space left on device"
so something somewhere is not liking whats happening =P
Also, I assume if I enable host mode on the OTG port (rmmod g_multi || true) that it will kill my ability to screen /dev/usbTTY0 to get to the rig?
is that correct?

One last question while Im at it - Lipo Charging. I assume the red light is on when charging and off when not. While it was running last night I never saw it jump above 70%, but I also have no idea when /tmp filled up, so its possible that the new level never got sucessfully reported.

Maybe because it was on, and my charger wasn't supplying enough amperage to run and charge?

@iainct for flashing it's easiest to use a usb hub with both plugged in, and plug the hub in at flash time
then view the console
i don't know about the radio board you are using, but some boards for edison provide power to the edison over the console port
Scott Leibrand

you can't invoke status.json on a 512
that is why you changed the alias not to do so

I am looping again!!!! new explorer board and everything good to go :)
Question for folks... my basal rates on my tslim were more precise than the medtronic 722 can do. So my rate is .52, but on medtronic the options are .55 or .5. Simple rounding tells me to do .5, but I am wondering if I should enter .5, or .52 on the nightscout profile
PopcornPam

Apr 01 2017 18:34
Also, I have the same setup for bolus wizard in both pumps, but the medtronic is consistantly calculating out less insulin for the same bg (tandem says 1.74 units, medtronic says 1.4 units). Anyone else seen these discrepencies when going back to an older pump?

Hey guys, I tried to clear my explorer by installing the factory image, and then re-installing jubilinux. I am getting the error that's commented on in the docs, where the swap may not be appropriately sized. I may just be missing it, but any tips as to fixing that issue?
PopcornPam
@PopcornPam_twitter
Apr 01 2017 18:55
OK, maybe not quite looping. It keeps telling me "BG data too old" on the openaps pill on the nightscout, but the logs all look ok
OK, closer look at the loop doesn't seem like it is reading correct from nightscout, it says my bg is 113, when nightscout (and my dexcom app) say I am 261

fjungman
@fjungman
Apr 01 2017 19:29
It is probably a time setting issue. Are the pump, Nightscout and Edison all reporting the same time? On Edison, just type "date" at the prompt to see what time it thinks it is.
It is reading old BG data...
PopcornPam
@PopcornPam_twitter
Apr 01 2017 19:31
The pump and edison are both on the correct time/date, and so is nightscout
it just will only read the old data from nightscout, though it seems to upload just fine
also, any command I try to do starts with 'openaps' it says it is not an openaps command

Ah, so, if I use the xdrip option on my second rig, but xDrip REST upload is only going to my first rig, then the second rig will fallback to using NS for its data. Am I understanding that correctly?

@scottleibrand can you explain how your commit of my devww branch was not mentioned in the pull request automagically? i closed openaps/oref0#357 because as far as i can see this is now been merged to dev branch of oref0

@pietergit Not sure. It was an accidental merge that came from pushing a local dev branch where I had merged devww for testing.

@scottleibrand ok, well thanks for merging. i'll try to decrease the logging a bit, but it's ok to have a bit more logging for now on dev

@gregtcm right. All rigs always try both methods, and use the most recent BG data they can get from either.

new project now that the devww has been merged to dev. i'll create a script that will only charge the dexcom connected to usb, if it needs charging

@sysyc for those kinds of errors, you either need to inspect the input file to see what it's complaining about, and/or run the command that generates it to see if it's erroring, or both.
@PieterGit can you get battery level from the Dexcom?
@gregtcm yes, please. This is a common misunderstanding.

yep, so don't charge if batterlevel > 10, charge if batterylevel < 10 and stop charging if batterylevel > 95 or so
other project i'm thinking of is a pebble notification with 'low of X expected in Y minutes' (find minimum in expected cgm's and the moment when glucose < 80)

currently have script working on putting charging off for dex usb, based on https://github.com/openaps/dexcom_reader/blob/master/dexcom_reader/readdata.py#L48

and the iob.json is empty

Right. So do openaps report show monitor/meal.json --cli to see what that report does.
Ok, then run the iob.json report too
If it's not obvious why it's erroring, you can show it and look at its input files the same way.
If any of these techniques aren't in the docs troubleshooting section, we could use a PR to add them.

Looks like you still need to set up your manual basal profile json and edit the alias that tries to invoke it as a report.

I’m re-iterating through the read-the-docs, but I remember somehow I could run a “sensors” command on my Edison to get the internal temperature? But I re-flashed the Edison and can’t find it any more ...

Is anyone available to help troubleshoot a bricked edison?
Robin Kirkman

Apr 01 2017 23:41
@msrcgm Depends on how bricked you mean by bricked, but I've recovered it from "unflashable" before
@msrcgm If you've fully wiped out u-boot itself then I don't think I can help

Attempted to flash using the mac instructions, the flash failed. Now my system doesn't recognize the edison at all.

The console is what you need
As long as you can still get to u-boot from the serial console of the edison it should be recoverable

Robin Kirkman
@esialb
Apr 01 2017 23:45
Probably. It's been a long time since I used a mac, and I've never used a mac with edison, but the instructions should be similar enough. You'll do this from a Terminal window.
