Deleted SRC deleted MYOPENAPS reinstalled newest Jubilinux 1.1 reinstalled latest Dev branch with SMB enabled. Still getting the date '@' error.
If no one has any ideas I guess I'll try oref0 without SMB and see what happens

@scottleibrand the problem isn't my ISF it's the long zero temping due to openaps not seeing the predicted rise as I prebolus by up to 30 minutes.
Also I don't use autotune as my ISF has significant random variation which it cannot deal with.

It is still 16 days before I can go online with this. So I still have some basic questions. --- How do you trigger “eating soon" mode”

--- How do you log carbs that you are not bolusing for (which will help Autotune be accurate)?

-- How can I set a temp target of 150 for activities?

Thanks.

@wharper11 my profile picture is tribute to a brainfart I’ve had…you’re no idiot

@rsilvers129 I use IFTTT to trigger eating soon. It sets a temp target of 80-80 for 60 minutes

I have an IFTTT button for carbs of different sizes (3g and 10g) and use that to easily log carbs that I’m not bolusing for.

you can set a temp target of 150 by entering a temp target using careportal in NS, or setup an IFTTT button (similar to eating soon, but different target BG and duration)

@scottleibrand Sorry but I'm unable to provide screenshots. A typical example from today:

  • bolus 3.5 u for 30g CHO at 11:26 with bgl of 7.5
  • eat 30g CHO at 11:40 with bgl of 7.3
  • zero temp from 11:30 to 12:30
  • lowest bgl during this time 7.1
  • micro boluses start at 12:37 with bgl of 7.8
  • currently 7.8 with a rising bgl and high temp.

My point is if there was no zero temp from 11:30 to 12:30 then I would have remained flat and dropped to about 6.5 from the bolus with openaps taking care of lowering me to the 5-6mmol range.

katie disimone
@Kdisimone
May 10 2017 02:56
I know nobody likes the idea of another button to press…but sounds like if you are doing a 30 min pre bolus, you might be the type to be ok with one more button? ;) How about trying eating soon after you bolus? That would help shorten any zero temp durations a bit
tepidjuice
@tepidjuice
May 10 2017 02:58
@Kdisimone I do use eating soon as well. The algorithm just predicts a low as it sees to CHO associated rise, which is what the prebolus is designed to stop.
I wonder if there would be any safety tradeoff in holding off the low temping for a while?
*sees no CHO

tepidjuice
@tepidjuice
May 10 2017 03:13
@wharper11 if you're using an explorer board for you r setup you'll have to be root user
So run su and use your root password
then I'd do cd and run oref0-setup.sh from the /root directory
Scott Leibrand
@scottleibrand
May 10 2017 03:15
@tepidjuice so sounds like your BG starts to rise around 12:30, or a bit earlier? That's about 60m after your bolus, and about 30m after the midpoint of the zero temping. So the carb ratio would matter more than the zero temping, for whatever that's worth. I'll need to think about the best way to deal with the safety tradeoff there...

we are large pre-bolusers for high carb meals too.
otherwise we usually do 15-20 min
Scott Leibrand
@scottleibrand
May 10 2017 03:33
@tepidjuice yes, if you set that to 1 it will 100% trust that the carbs you enter are going to have a BG effect within DIA hours. Normally it only assumes 2/3 will hit, until it sees enough carb absorption deviations to show otherwise.

@scottleibrand the value that autotune gives me for recommended carb ratio will either have to be put back into the pump as-is, or I will have to multiply it by the reciprocal of carbratio... not sure which. So if my carbratio setting (in preferences) is 0.8, and autotune said my carb ratio is 10.0, I will either have to put 10.0 or 12.5 into the pump. Not sure which.

Edison login only appears after you use a command in terminal to connect to edison. Since your edison is not yet connected to wifi, you need to use Screen Mode type login to access it.
See the part for Mac users

MelissaParkey

10.12
Do you mean a different mac?
@Kdisimone I think I am not going to be able to do this now. I'm sure the instructions are there and correct. I just may not have what it takes without some more studying. Thanks for trying. Truly.

@MelissaParkey Dont give up! It took me a lot of tries before things started going well. From my experience the screen command and Edison dont play nicely on 10.12. Try screen from another computer to setup wifi. Then your mac should be able to wifi in just fine.
@danamlewis I imagine it would be relevant that my basal pill on NS reflects my default basal settings, not adjusted/ temps. Would love any ideas. I've tried everything I can think of.

hi all, quick question.. reading through the documentation of Advanced Meal Assist function (AMA) I saw there should be three purple lines in the Nightscout forecast. In my mind, this function has been enabled but have never seen these three purple lines, only two blue, and one purple in the middle, am I missing something :) ?

@danamlewis @kenkotch I made a change to the order of elements on one rig, I'm sure that cleared that warning. Also, I thought I had put in a PR to modify the ns-loop command to capture those message to the log file (redirect stderr to stdout, as the other loop commands have). Not sure where that went.

Will check later. All that is needed is to change:

to
openaps ns-loop 2>&1 | tee -a
I suspect that everyone has this warning about the order, but it isn't logged

running papertrail . for some reason, there are TWO logs from same system - one called ‘localhost’ - very chatty, the other called xxxopenaps1 - any hints on what is going on?
katie disimone
@Kdisimone
May 10 2017 22:47
@mhaeberli I've yet to figure that one out. I have a feeling that it has to do with how the edison is configured through isp at the time papertrail is installed. It (whether the rig is logged as one unit vs rig/local host) hasn't made an operational difference for me as I just setup filters when I use them anyhow, so I get both pulled together as needed
Martin Haeberli
@mhaeberli
May 10 2017 22:50
@Kdisimone beyond filtering sudo, cron, libmraa, what else are you filtering?
katie disimone
@Kdisimone
May 10 2017 23:23

@mhaeberli I filter those ones out completely from uploading. And then I have saved searches for the others that I use.

For each rig I have a saved search for:
pump-loop.log (to see the full log)
pump-loop.log 916 (to see the tuning results)
pump-loop.log adjust (to see autosens and autotune adjustments)
network (to see wifi activity)

So for example I have a saved search for edisonSMB pump-loop.log 916 to see how the tune results have been for that particular rig.

I rarely just watch the WHOLE papertrail anymore. Mostly only use saved searches to get at the parts I'm interested in.

hi. I'm on Step 2: Run oref0-setup it says "you’ll need to log in as root to run oref0-setup.sh, as the mraa package doesn’t yet support running under an ordinary user account." I'm confused, is there another way to log in other than root?
Dana Lewis
@danamlewis
May 10 2017 23:56
yes, don’t do that ;)
“other way” is as edison user
i.e. edison@yourrig.local <— bad for explorer board/OpenAPS setup
root@yourrig.local <—yay! do this
if you do log in as edison (not root), you may have to re-log in as edison and undo/delete things, then go back into root and re-do stuff
