Can you scroll NS back to just before it starts SMBing and/or cancels the zero temp, to see what the purple lines looked like then?
Ideally at about the time you would've wanted it to start dosing insulin again.

Yeah, that prediction definitely drops well below target and justifies continued low temping. Want to find and paste the pump-loop.log run from about that time so we can see more details on why it's mispredicting a low?
hilarykoch
@hilarykoch
May 19 2017 01:46
Sure. How do I search for a specific time?
Scott Leibrand
@scottleibrand
May 19 2017 01:46
Use less to view the log and use / to search
N and n to jump back and forward through search matches. G and gg to go to the top/bottom of the log. Google for more tips on using less
Also, remind me whether you're using autotune in your loop?
hilarykoch
@hilarykoch
May 19 2017 01:49
I haven’t been using autotune, but did just turn it on today (assume it starts at midnight, right?) We’ve got a storm coming through and kids are freaking out. Be back in a few.
Scott Leibrand
@scottleibrand
May 19 2017 01:52
Fun. I'm just about to fly out of this snowstorm in DEN (back to sunny San Diego), so I might be offline when you get back. The problem might just be your basals/ratios, so a week or two of autotune might help.

Martin Haeberli
@mhaeberli
May 19 2017 04:26
often i have been able to fix this with a whacky combination of - using the curl api to get the numbers to make sure that works; openaps get-ns-bg
yes cgm getting to ns
openaps ns-loop, and openaps bg-fresh-check

I have not (arguably because too lazy but maybe more because too complex and lacking concentrated focus time) yet debugged it by looking at logs
as far as I can tell from grep ‘glucose.json’ openaps.ini, there are only three reports involved?
i think ns-loop, ns-get-bg, bg-fresh-check - but as always I would defer to the yodas on this group
really grep ‘\/glucose.json’ openaps.ini
get-bg also
but i think that fails
get-ns-bg now is failing because data ‘staled out’ thanks to dexcom share flakiness

get-bg inherently doesn’t work in my setup and i don’t expect it to
@kenkotch i’d also like to stay away from ‘nudging’ it by hand ...
but for now better than staying awake...
@kenkotch i predict that if you just - poll the NS api via curl (do you need a template from me) ; then openaps get-ns-bg - it will start running again as you watch it over the next 10 minutes or so
kenkotch

@scottleibrand - I went the whole 24 hours successfully without a single manual bolus while testing SMB. It worked very well for me. Dinner last night was 33g and SMB only used 0.5 units and I still went mildly low at 11:40pm. If I were manually bolusing, I would've messed that one up big time and went severely low I'm sure. SMB is way better than my bolus guesses. Anyone know why the stray BG dots are showing up on my NS? I don't see those on my pump/CGM.

in NS is there any way to change the properties of the line that occurs with a temp target set? My IFTTT is working great but the line representing the duration is grey and has poor contrast with the background. Any method to change the line's colour?
fidoman
@efidoman
May 19 2017 12:56
@cameronrenwick - not sure if that is possible. However, I've had good success making it more noticable if you widen the range. For instance, my eating soon mode was 80 to 80, but when I changed it to 75 to 85, the bar shows up much better on NS. Hope that helps.
katie disimone
@Kdisimone
May 19 2017 13:22

@cameronrenwick yes you can. Go into your GitHub cgm-remote-monitor repo (the version you forked over to your account) and navigate to the file that is in /lib/client/renderer.js. Edit line 283 from light grey to a different color. I use orange.

Just make sure you are editing the branch you have deployed too. Master, dev or floating-carbs. Then just redeploy in your heroku control panel's deploy section to refresh your site with the color change.

Now I am reformatting my SD cards, recovering an earlier version, then putting everything back with Phase 0 to start. It worked on my oldest RPi2 rig. Now working on the second RPi2, then copying the SD card to write to a spare card. Glad it is a rainy day here.

I am hainvg problems getting my pump to communicate with my rig it seems, I keep getting a "Old pumphistory: Error, retrying" error in my pump-loop.log.
I have updated my pimp.ini to read:

[device "pump"]
serial = CurrentSerial
port = /dev/spidev5.1
radio_type = subg_rfspy

I have rebooted it, I have let it sit for a long time, I have also updted and verified my oref0-runagain.sh I have also verified the times in my rig and NS site and pump are within 1 minute is there anything else that I need to do at this point to get my communication back?

@ericfeibelman Awesome! I love it when we see the automated system doing even better than a human could. Funny how that often comes from what OpenAPS doesn't do as much as anything it does. :smile:
Do you have multiple rigs? Those extra CGM dots look like they might be time-shifted from a rig with its timezone set wrong.
@diabetic_dude_twitter how is your pump battery?
And what mmtune results do you get?
If it's not anything obvious, it might be time to start drilling down and running aliases and reports manually per the troubleshooting docs.

Is there a reason that a new oref0-script install would only pull one day of data for Autotune on the first run? I haven't been using autotune in loop before and was surprised to see that when it ran it only ran one day's data. Tried to figure out where the cronjob command pulls the start date from autotune/preferences.json but can't quite figure it out.
Dana Lewis

when it runs overnight, it only tunes on one day of data
you can manually run it from the rig for a longer stretch, though
but that way it doesn’t risk crashing your loop overnight

ya. you can still give it a full swath of data on that rig, and then let it tune nightly from there. just requires you to run it manually with dates of choice, and then it’ll build from that. or, copy and paste the autotune files over from another rig if it’s got a better start on the data from where you’ve been running it.

@kdsimone - in keeping with the color change questions - has anyone tried changing the Openaps prediction lines colours too 3 (or I guess now 4?) different ones to better distinguish between them?
David
@davidkeddydb
May 19 2017 17:54
@scottleibrand I know I should already know the answer to this, but does the pump only communicate on one given frequency or does it function on a few within a range. Just trying to understand if mmtune kicks in and communicates at one frequency specific or the pump can over several
Dana Lewis
@danamlewis
May 19 2017 17:58
@JELCRAWFORD if you go down that path (I don't think anyone has), just beware overrelying on any one line
JELCRAWFORD
@JELCRAWFORD
May 19 2017 18:04
@danamlewis your confidence in my ability to figure that out is appreciated, but probably overly optimistic! But I would like it if I could more easily distinguish each line - particularly when they all bunch up.... yes, understood not to rely on one though. I think it's probably safe to say with diabetes that you should likely never rely on one specific data point:)

Yes because temperature change, location changes, and it won't be able to read it
David

@danamlewis @scottleibrand So the range that is in there now is basically as tight as it can be given those deviations. ok. that makes sense

Has anyone tried using a quick or turbo charger on their edison? The ones like some phones have now? I find mine barely gets full over a full night plugged in. The charger on the EXB of a limited to 250 mAh on the latest version so you run the risk of overheating the board. I've done that and melted a 3D printed case on the older 500mAh board.
So you're best off using. 1mAh charger at the most. It makes no difference to how fast you charge a lipo.

@idoodler it is a bug type of thing
if you are running the master branch openaps will get the time from your pump to fix the issue
if you are running the dev I am not sure that fix is in there I am still testing mine to see if it happens and fixes itself

this issue normally comes up if you have an iphone and bt and a complex wireless network (like a work network ) setup ....
for example, if I have my work network added and have my BT connection configured in my openaps rig
i will get that error when I leave work and it auto switches to BT
but...
if I remove my work network and just use BT I get no errors

Then go to the http://openaps.readthedocs.io/en/latest/docs/walkthrough/phase-0/windows-edison.html

For the rest of the setup. Scroll down to the end of the part that says you are done flashing and start there
