Trying to install dev on my test machine and keep getting the following error. Any ideas? openaps installed Traceback (most recent call last): File "/usr/local/bin/openaps", line 6, in <module> exec(compile(open(__file__).read(), __file__, 'exec')) IOError: [Errno 2] No such file or directory: '/root/src/openaps/bin/openaps'
what's weird is that there is not a /root/src/openaps on my production working dev rig
Scott Leibrand
@scottleibrand
Jun 13 2017 00:40
did you install it with quick-src and then remove it? usually if you install with quick-packages it doesn't put that there
fidoman

Jun 13 2017 00:41
I did install it with quick-src. I've tried manually too. Both ways give the same error.

sounds like you need to full uninstall it before reinstalling

depends how you installed it. might've been with pip
if you did easy_install, you might have to uninstall manually

And what does the BG data in NS show? Does it have future entries?

Uploader + BUS Stick, read from Pump
BG showing in NS is ok
Scott Leibrand
@scottleibrand
Jun 13 2017 01:04
You need to figure out what is being written to NS, and if its timezone is wrong, fix the uploader. I don't know anything about the NS uploaders for 640G
Check in NS admin settings for future entries
And/Or check your /api/v1/entries endpoint to see the actual data and see if it's as wrong as it looks from what OpenAPS is getting.

Scott Leibrand
@scottleibrand
Jun 13 2017 01:08
But this seems like a 640G uploader problem, so you're less likely to get much more help from those of us who've never used that. Not sure whose project that is or what support channels they use.
We can only help you verify whether the uploaded data is really showing a timestamp from the future.

i have an edison board with a wire that replcaces the antenna, as same was ripped off a few days ago. I currently only have this rig on wireless at home as I dont have nluetooth teher on my android. I have been having some issues recently with the rig communicating with my pump, but up until this evening it fixs it self on its own once I hook it up to puddy and use the Command "l".. It has been attached for over an hour and still wont find it. I have also already started the edison board and has no changed anything. says no pump comms detected from other rigs. Nu my rig and pump are both currently in my bra almost next to each other... any ideas?

Here's the commands I use from a separate linux server to clone from eddie2 to test-eddie. ssh root@eddie2 "dd bs=4M if=/dev/mmcblk0" | dd of=./linode.imgwhich takes a while since it is 4GB and then I run dd if=./linode.img | ssh root@test-eddie "dd of=/dev/mmcblk0"

I should've probably flashed it to plain vanilla, but I was lazy and just left it as it was. It had the normal jubilinux install with wifi enabled and a broken openaps install.
I'll report back if it works and perhaps add a 2nd method to the docs for cloning.

I think that'd be a great addition to the docs. I'm building my 2nd rig now (well this weekend) but am going to go from the start manually. I'm sure though that ppl would use your method

It didn't work. Too many file system errors on the test-eddie after dd finished and I rebooted. I probably would have to take my production rig to a recovery mode before doing the dd image and at that point the usb option is better. Worth a try anyway. I've done this before on my linux computer system without issue.

I fix an error, that i mention above
by some reason my pump stop to send updated cgm data to the rig. So I tried many way to fix, delete myopenaps folder and reinstall again, but every time after rig retrieve data from my pump, the last record in glucose.json was 12:34 pm. (but cgm information on pump display show the current value and cgm continue to measure my blood sugar). So i fix this error accidentally, just decide to reboot my pump, because other things don't help.

Embarrasingly, my trial with dd piped over ssh bricked my test rig. I've tried reflashing earlier a couple of times and it will not do it. It says use recovery but that requires xfstk tools I suppose and that doesn't work on windows. Anyone know how to recovery from a brick? I can connect to it over the ports and all the flash steps work except for the ext4 last recovery that is supposed to take 5 minutes.

@cjwehtje you'll have to change oref0-online to reverse that behavior. If you figure out how to do it, would be nice to make it backwards compatible with a configuration flag, as you're not the first person who wants to do that. Main downside is the persistent tethering bar on the phone and that you can't use wifi there while tethering.

Thanks Scott. What do you mean that I can't use wifi?
1) I can't use wifi on the Edison while tethering?
or
2) I can't use wifi on the phone while tethering?

Have for the moment turned of WIFI on the edison and tested running the phone with mobile data off. The rig still works and data is uploaded to nightscout so seems like the phone is sharing the wifi connection with the rig over BT?

Are you using an iPhone or Android?
most of the limitations I mentioned were on the iPhone side. If you have an Android phone that can share wifi over BT, that makes always-on Bluetooth tethering much more viable. That's actually fairly similar to what folks using xDripAPS do. I think most people doing that so far have just removed all of their wifi networks from the rig.

Just to chime in - I use xDripAPS and still allow my rig to connect to wifi when at home. I just have xDrip set to point to both NS and xDripAPS.
I've actually considered buying a low end android phone and getting a "tablet" sim card to run as a rig tether + xdrip rig, so I can stop having battery anxiety with my main device =P

@applehat I recently switched to Virgin Mobile unlimited. 10 gigs @ 4g speeds then throttled. $45 per month. Variety of low end Android phones available. I got the Samsung J3 Emerge for $65. Completely happy with phone, network speed and coverage, AND it works well with my Edison rig.
Edit: @scottleibrand is correct...I use xDripAPS. My rig is ALWAYS BT connected to my phone. I have commented out my rig's wpa_supplicant file so there is no wifi on the rig.

@danamlewis Hi, I've been running OpenAPS closed loop for about 6 months and smp for about 3. It's been running very well. Recently, I've been having problems with the blue tooth link between my cell phone and the Dexcom share system (less than stellar performance) so I switched to direct USB link to Dexcom receiver. @scottleibrand , short question about the "max_iob" variable in preferences.json. Am i right, that if i set that value to 1 and openaps says "IOB: 1.655", the system will not high-temp me till IOB falls <1.0? Right now the system high-temp me with that values and i am wondering why?
Dana Lewis
@danamlewis
Jun 13 2017 21:45
NetIoB includes your bolus iob
Maxiob will limit based on iob coming from OpenAPS (usually basal iob)
JoernL
@JoernL
Jun 13 2017 21:52
@danamlewis , okay thx. So bolus is not be included in max_iob - only basal. Wouldn't that be a more better security feature if max_iob is netIOB? So the system only begins to high-temp when there is no acting insuline. Yes i know there is the dia variable but in the reference i read several times about the max_iob as a very high security feature.
Dana Lewis
@danamlewis
Jun 13 2017 21:56
Maxiob is intended to be the additional amount of insulin you let the system give you, in addition to what you might do manually.
JoernL
@JoernL
Jun 13 2017 22:01

Dana Lewis
@danamlewis
Jun 13 2017 22:03
Maxiob 1.0 means OpenAPS will calculate temps as needed based on BG, netIOB, and what's needed to bring bG to target - limited by the lowest of maxiob at 1.0 or the safety multipliers of current or biggest of your basals
Scott Leibrand
@scottleibrand
Jun 13 2017 22:03
max_iob is totally different from max_basal
Dana Lewis
@danamlewis
Jun 13 2017 22:03
1u is a total unit amount, not a rate
So you might see a larger than 1u/hr temp; remember that it's set for 30 minutes so it's actually going to deliver (if it runs for full 30) half the amount of the hourly rate
(If you've already set up the rig, the logs and the OpenAPS pill in NS should help show what it's setting and what if anything is limiting)
JoernL
@JoernL
Jun 13 2017 22:12
Ah, max_iob is a rate - not a unit. The manual doesn't reflect this. But IOB is a unit, right?
Dana Lewis
