Hi all, thus far (2 months of looping) I have been unable to ssh to the rig on my iphone. I am pretty positive that I have the ip address correct, and can use the phone app to ssh when connected to home wifi, but can't figure out what I am doing wrong! Help!!

@esteward what do you see in oref0-setup regarding micro boluses?

Elliott
@esteward
Jun 15 2017 02:11
when reading the code, the only thing i see regarding SMB is when it lists out what's in the preferences.json file
json bolusing) == false
?
Elliott
@esteward
Jun 15 2017 02:17
i know that i am trying to use the SMB in the oref1-pump-loop.
i see oref0-pump-loop mention 4 times
find /var/log/openaps/pump-loop.log -mmin +5 | grep pump && ( killall -g --older-than 5m openaps; killall -g --older-than 5m oref0-pump-loop; killall -g --older-than 5m openaps-report )
          • ( killall -g --older-than 30m openaps; killall -g --older-than 30m oref0-pump-loop; killall -g --older-than 30m openaps-report )
from read the docs, it says, "ou’ll need to run oref0-setup with a “microbolus” enable flag to configure it to use SMB in oref0-pump-loop"
so i assuming there is a flag somewhere in the code near the letters, "oref0-pump-loop"
  • cd /root/myopenaps/myopenaps && ( ps aux | grep -v grep | grep -q 'openaps pump-loop' || openaps pump-loop ) 2>&1 | tee -a /var/log/openaps/pump-loop.log
Elliott

@applehat or others knowledgeable about pancreabble set up: I have my edison paired with my pebble. I see two routes for populating the urchin data: Mark's way at:
https://github.com/mddub/pancreabble

Or the OpenAPS way here:
http://openaps.readthedocs.io/en/latest/docs/walkthrough/phase-1/offline-looping-and-monitoring.html#pancreabble

Will either work? I like the look of what I might be able to send urchin using the OpenAPS way but I had to use Mark's way of connecting so not sure if OpenAPS will work...I'll start with OpenAPS and see. Any advice would be appreciated! Thanks!

Hello fellow OpenAPS users,

I have a problem that I can't solve on my own so I was hoping to get some help. My explorer board doesn't work when connected to a lipo battery. The LED (the red one that indicates power is on) will continuously blink. When powered by USB, everything works fine. I think this may be happening because I used unlabeled JST connectors and accidentally reversed the current.

Any suggestions for how to get my explorer board working with a lipo battery? Should I just get a new board or should I get one of those phone battery extenders that can power using USB?

*Also of note: When powered by USB, the charging LED (the red one on the corner of the board) is on and when a lipo battery is connected, it is off. This is the opposite of what is normally supposed to happen..

Matt Pressnall

Jun 15 2017 03:41

@Aaybob, I wasn't able to make any progress because my cable to connect edison to dexcom doesn't work (but thanks to the docs, I just ordered one that should work)...But I can give you all the info that got me to be able to connect and notify to my pebble.

Issue 1: You need bluetooth version 5.37 or above bluetoothd --version. You can do this ala this

# Install Bluez for BT Tethering
        echo Checking bluez installation
        bluetoothdversion=$(bluetoothd --version || 0)
        bluetoothdminversion=5.37
        bluetoothdversioncompare=$(awk 'BEGIN{ print "'$bluetoothdversion'"<"'$bluetoothdminversion'" }')
        if [ "$bluetoothdversioncompare" -eq 1 ]; then
            killall bluetoothd &>/dev/null #Kill current running version if its out of date and we are updating it
            cd $HOME/src/ && wget https://www.kernel.org/pub/linux/bluetooth/bluez-5.44.tar.gz && tar xvfz bluez-5.44.tar.gz || die "Couldn't download bluez"
            cd $HOME/src/bluez-5.44 && ./configure --enable-experimental --disable-systemd && \
            make && sudo make install && sudo cp ./src/bluetoothd /usr/local/bin/ || die "Couldn't make bluez"
            oref0-bluetoothup
        else
            echo bluez v ${bluetoothdversion} already installed
        fi

Issue 2: Use the mac address straight from the Pebble via: Settings --> System -->Information on the watch

Issue 3: Use the docs here to get set up: https://github.com/mddub/pancreabble

Issue 4: In the docs here

# in your openaps directory:
openaps vendor add pancreabble
openaps device add pebble pancreabble /dev/rfcomm0
openaps use pebble notify "hello" "testing"

When you are adding a device, call it something other than pebble so you don't get name collisions...so line two above becomes:

 openaps device add pbl pancreabble /dev/rfcomm0

Use pbl or whatever you call it from now on...

Issue 5: Docs read Add these lines to /etc/rf.local so that Bluetooth is initialized and the Pebble is paired and bound to /dev/rfcomm0 on boot: ...should read Add these lines to /etc/rc.local so that Bluetooth is initialized and the Pebble is paired and bound to /dev/rfcomm0 on boot:

That will get you connected to the pebble...I need to get urchin working...once I get that cable!

@scottleibrand / @danamlewis, not sure where I would put this in the docs...and with @applehat reworking things...but if you want me to, let me know where to throw them.

Thanks!

@logichammer Thanks for correcting the docs. When I tried to set up Pancreabble last year it struggled with sending the status fail to urchin properly and used to fail more than it succeeded.
I also suspect you can use jq to parse a lot of the json data into the status file you need to pass to the pebble.

@bryce2071 if you find a faster way please let me know, but that way saves me a lot of time and thought

Luuc - OpenAPS is already attempting to correct you to target. If you want to do more, we recommend using temp targets for extra nudges safely. If you do decide to do a bolus, make sure you're informing decision by looking at netiob , not pump reported bolus-only iob

@peterfulvi we currently do not use the carb announcement records from the Dexcom receiver. if you want to enter carbs into one of your devices, you can use the pump bolus wizard (and enter a minimal bolus of 0.1U or less if you don't want to bolus at the time)
@bmammon it sounds like you might have damaged the charging circuit of your Explorer board. I would plan to use that EB without a lipo (perhaps as an offline-capable rig that normally sits bedside) and get another EB for mobile online use
@Bender1061 thanks: please do keep us posted on your results with Symlin + oref1
@umbraco_twitter we generally don't recommend trying to change the config files directly: just update your oref0-runagain.sh file with the new secret key and run that again, and it will make sure everything gets updated correctly

Ok trying to figure out the Pushover stuff. I see in the script, It asks for a Token and a Key, the Key is pretty self explanatory, but the Token is not. Do we just choose a name for our API Token, or are we supposed to make an API Token from the Pushover website and put the name in the script?
overall there is very little and it's pretty confusing about how the pushover stuff works, I'm thinking some changes in the docs are in order, but first need to understand it.

User Token + Application Key
So, your user token thats listed when you login
and then the key thats created when you add an "application"
I have that backwards
User Key on homepage
Then Application Token under Your Applications (Create an Application/API Token)

understand YDMV - currently set to 2. finding that sometimes that’s not enough for “control authority” when trending a bit high.

b) If you get:

Flashing rootfs, (it can take up to 10 minutes... Please be patient)
dfu-util -v -d 8087:0a99 --alt rootfs -D /home/pi/toFlash/edison-image-edison.ext4 -R 2>&1 | tee -a flash.log | ( sed -n '19 q'; head -n 1; cat >/dev/null )

in something closer to 10 seconds than 10 minutes, then you likely didn’t set up swap properly. To verify, cat flash.log and look for dfu-util: Cannot allocate memory of size 1610612736 bytes near the end.

but what should i do now?
how do i setup swag properly?
